Went for the menudo which was very good. Only 4 points for authenticity ; it didn't come with fresh Mexican oregano and red chilis peppers or chili de arbol, only came with green onion and cilantro. The chips and salsa are fresh and the salsa is seasoned well with a nice spicey kick. The chips could use some salt though. I had a chile rellano. It was not crispy but had a soggy coating. The chile itself had a nice smokey flavor though but the soggy coating ruined it. My partner had a combo plate with a taco and cheese enchilada. The taco had lots of nicely seasoned hamburger meat, fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The enchilada had a nice amount of cheese and plenty of sauce seasoned nicely. I recently ordered food from Anaya's to be delivered. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada. I've ordered from this restaurant on many occasions. This time I noticed the taco shell and tortilla tasted stale and the shredded beef tasted off. I only ate a few bites of each. A couple hours later I had full blown food poisoning. Visited for the first time for dinner on a Friday night. We were seated right away, but there was definitely a lot of people in there, which is a good sign! We got drinks, and delicious chips and salsa right away. The salsa was spicy and packs are really good flavor. Grams got a chili rellano and I tried the arroz con pollo (chicken and rice), it was freaking delicious! The sauce was incredible, the chicken was super juicy, and I loved the portion of vegetables in the serving. We can't believe today was the first time we've ever been to Anaya's. The staff were amazing. Very sincere, and friendly and genuinely cared that we were eating at their restaurant. I'm not sure what is going on here, but this is not the restaraunt I posted rave reviews about previously. It started with a taco salad. I requested no bowl. The salad came out with nothing but the shredded beef and corn tortilla strips and a tiny bit of cheese. When I asked about the beans she said she forgot and said that was the way they used to make the taco salad. I ordered a flan to go and when I got home, the flan was massively curdled and tasteless.
