Birria Tacos and Consome
Arianne C.

This was an Uber Eats Delivery, but sooo Good! I am a Birria connoisseur lol the meat was good, the shells still had a small crisp, it was a good taco! The consome was a bit on the watery side, but I like the big chunks of onion and cilantro. Uber Eats didn't offer sides of beans and rice, so I ordered a kids quesadilla meal. The rice was really good, it was flavorful and tasted like I made it in the kitchen and the beans and the quesadilla tasted how it should! I would definitely eat here again, looking forward to trying it in person.

Great dinner here after the drive up the 99 from Fresno. This place was close to our Airbnb and open till at least 9pm-since we got into town about 7:45, this was the perfect place. Very friendly and welcoming service. Seemed like a fun Friday night spot, good sized crowd in the patio singing karaoke and enjoying beers. We had a Modelo, carne asada tacos and their Americano taco. The Americano was my fav-so juicy , crispy taco shell, fresh toppings and cheese. I'd like to try more of their menu next time I visit Sac. Dining area, bar seating , and patio. Looked like a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Wow! I went on a quest to get tacos for Taco Tuesday. I found this hidden gem close to my house. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back!

Good service and I got the super quesadilla with grilled chicken. Food was good and price was not bad.

Birria Taco

I was a little disappointed that the Birria tacos don't come with consommé (or at least mine didn't). The pictures and reviews show the tacos coming with consommé and I checked and they don't sell it on the side so I was expecting it to be included. Unfortunately I didn't check the bag until I got to work so I couldn't go back and ask for some. For me the consommé is the best part of birria tacos so I was pretty sad. That being said, the tacos were super good (a bit dry because no consommé but still good!) and the prices are unbeatable! I just recommend asking for the consommé if you order birria:) I plan to go again to get the full experience :)

I don't even know what to say, but wow Omg their birria tacos were so good! The dipping sauce the meat ! I'll be back for sure ! I ate 4 by myself and they're a pretty nice size! Those were made with love I'm sure

The front entrance has a different name "la Barca."

It's taco Tuesday! This little restaurant is off the grid (so to speak) yet they make delicious Baja Style tacos. The taco Tuesday deal is pretty good. You can get pork or chicken tacos for $1 a piece, and I decided to try 3 of the chicken tacos. They were extremely fresh and the chicken was nicely seasoned with chile and cumin (which I love), fresh chopped cilantro, onion, and garnished with sliced radishes. I ordered my tacos with extra fresh lime on the side since I love the Mexican tradition of squeezing fresh lime juice on chicken or fish tacos. An added bonus to Birria & Mariscos is the awesome fresh salsa bar. There are several types of salsa to choose from ranging from mild to spicy, red, brown, and green (tomatillo) stye. The ambiance of this restaurant is decorated in a clean simple southwest style. I love the fact that this restaurant is super clean and the noise level us quite low. Additionally, the tacos are cheap and the beer is very cold. I believe that Birria would be a great place to stop for a quick yet satisfying Mexican style meal with the option to eat in the restaurant or as take out.

This week's date night brought us to Rosa Madera! From the…read moreoutside, the restaurant doesn't look like much, but the moment you walk in, the vibes are instant! You're greeted with a fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and an energy that makes you excited to be there. Since the restaurant was especially busy, we chose to sit at the bar. There was no wait, and the high-top seating was surprisingly comfortable. Our server was welcoming and attentive, and the service was fast from start to finish. Between the great music and lively atmosphere, you can't help but want to dance while you eat! I ordered one of my favorites--the chicken sope. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while still soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicken was packed with flavor, and the rice and beans were just as delicious. The salsa that came with it was the perfect finishing touch, adding just the right amount of spice and an extra kick of flavor. My hubby ordered one of the carne asada dishes (so sorry, I forgot the name!). He said it was one of the best cuts of meat he's had at a Mexican restaurant in a long time--super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We had such a fun night! I definitely recommend Rosa Madera--10/10 for a date night, girls' night, or any excuse to enjoy great food and an even better atmosphere.

I found Rosa Madera when searching for "queso" in Yelp...(I really was wanting some queso)…read more Anyways, funnily enough, I read through the menu when I got here and ended up getting nachos in place of the queso...that's fine though, it gave me an excuse to come back another day. It's a nice looking place inside, especially considering its general location. They were busy even at an off hour mid-week, but I can see why because the food is great and so is the atmosphere. My first visit, I tried the following: Enchilada Verde (Lunch Menu), Mini Birria Tacos (Lunch Menu), and Nachos de la Casa (with asada). They also brought out complimentary chicharrones de harina, which was especially nice because I was super hungry! My second visit I had the following: Queso Con Rajás Dip, Los Favoritos, and the Burrito de Carnitas (Lunch Menu). I ended up liking the nachos way more than the queso. I wasn't expecting the queso to just be the consistency of slightly melted cheese. I also wish they were a bit more generous with the chips since I ran out of chips way sooner than the dips. No complaints on my main dish portions though! Really loved most things I've tried. The presentation of my dishes I've ordered here, the Enchilada Verde and the Burrito de Carnitas, was great too. The chicken was just slightly too dry for the Enchilada, but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is while the service was nice, it was SO slow both times I've been here. It took forever to get the check and when they did bring out the card reader you can't see the receipt, only a total. Then their lowest automatic tipping button is set at over 22% (with two higher percent options), which is honestly crazy to me since most places start at around 18%. I way overtipped on accident the first time I came. I think it's highly likely they get overtipped for this reason, which is nice for them but kind of not fair to the customer. I'll continue to return!

Complimentary corn tortilla chips, salsa, and refried bean dip with cheese. I loved the REFRIED BEAN DIP! I ordered the Steak a la Chicana. I didn't read or listen carefully enough that the skirt steak with sauteed onions and bell peppers are covered in Spanish sauce. The sauce is actually quite tasty with a little kick. I used it and the salsa to flavor the black beans. However, I really just wanted grilled steak. I should have ordered steak fajitas, a grilled steak burrito or quesadilla, or a carne asada plate. The Steak a la Chicana was a generous portion, which is definitely 2 meals for me. Cilantro rice wasn't anything special. The SWEET CORN TAMALITO is yummy comfort. Choice of beans: refried beans, black beans, or pinto beans. I suspect refried beans is the tastiest option. El Tapatio would be a great gathering place for friends and family. It's located on Sunrise Blvd in Citrus Heights near See's Candies and other restaurants.

I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! Coming to La Favorita Taqueria is always a treat and I appreciate the quick customer service, self-serve bar, and delicious food! I highly recommend the Al pastor as your protein choice and honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu!

They didn't just walk by like frazzled, hurried workers like most restaurants pushing through the crowds. They actually gave me a nice smile and said welcome, and then walked by. And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. It's really impressive when you have a well oiled machine and it appeared to me that the people that worked there seem to be happy so that's always a good sign of good management. Several years back, I worked in the restaurant industry doing maintenance and repairs so I went to a lot of different restaurants and saw a lot of things so I know what to look for. I'm definitely gonna come back when my brother and his wife come up from the Bay Area my friend Ivan he'll wanna go there for lunch or dinner I know. He's kind of a picky eater and was born in Mexico, but I think he'll be impressed with this place.
