Adriana was a wonderful server - friendly and attentive! Thanks Adriana! Other servers worked in tandem - asking if I needed anything, etc. Great service ladies. I had enchiladas- 1 chicken, 1 carnitas, rice and beans. The portion size was more than ample. The salsa is the best! The food was fresh and the temperature was good. The flavor was a little lacking today - bland - but otherwise a good dining experience.

Great place for a date night or for the whole family. Their food and drinks are the best in town and their service is fast and friendly. Still one of our favorite restaurants downtown. Now with an added bonus: they're directly across the street from Woof Gang, a top-notch dog grooming boutique. So we drop off the pup at Woof Gang, walk across the street and enjoy dinner, and voila, our pup is ready. Perfect timing!

Excellent food as always! Today I got 2 enchiladas (chicken, cheese) with the roja sauce (red mild sauce) refried beans & rice. So yummy! Tried the flan today and it was ok. This is my go-to place for great food & service!

pretty busy for a weekday lunch! we were able to get seating outside. service and food came out fast. table and chairs were a bit messy with some food on them. the horchata was average and a bit watery. i appreciated that they have a vegetarian rice option, and all beans are vegetarian--went with the non-veg rice that uses chicken broth. massive quantities of sour cream and guac. the beans and rice were good. my only complaint is that they put pico inside of my quesadilla, not on top like i expected! would come back if im really craving mexican food and will note to tell them that i want my pico on the side. :)

Sacramento, California My favorite Mexican place whenever I am in Sacramento. I've only been to the Midtown location which is unassuming and cozy. Like going to your grandma's house knowing you're going to have a great home-cooked meal along with cozy comfort, and genuine, friendly service. Pastor has been my "go to" item --fatty pork cooked to tender deliciousness and served stand alone with beans and rice or in a soft taco like i had it today. Silence as soon as the food arrives as everyone is too busy enjoying their food.....Enchiladas, salsa(oh and they don't charge for chips and salsa!), fresh and made to order. Everything is good here. Metered parking in the neighborhood.

It was a busy Sunday but excellent service. My group of 3 and I were seated right away and it is such a cool place. We received our margaritas right away and we all got something different and they all tasted amazing. The chips and salsa were so good we ate it all up. Our server was hard working but he had good vibes as well. We will definitely be back here soon enough. This is the type of place that makes me crave their food because it is that yummy!!!!

This place never disappoints. The service, the food and the cocktails are all fantastic!! We had the passion fruit watermelon margarita pitcher which had a good amount of tequila with freshly squeezed watermelon which was sooo refreshing! Their salsa was full of flavor with just enough of a kick and we also ordered the shrimp and chicken fajitas and the mahi soft taco plate. All of the food was delicious and was made quickly and served hot which I always love. We had the best time and enjoy coming here to eat some delicious Mexican food.

Tres Hermanas has been a long-time favorite for us. It's one of those neighborhood restaurants that feels established and comfortable the minute you walk in. The interior is colorful and lively with bright walls, artwork, Día de los Muertos accents, hanging lanterns, and a bar that feels like the center of the action. It has personality and history, not a polished chain feel. We've had many dishes here over the years, and the mole entrées have always stood out. They do rich, layered sauces really well. On this visit we kept it simple with tacos, guacamole, chips, and salsa. The guacamole was fresh and well balanced, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick. I ordered the soup and salad combo. The chicken and rice soup was savory and comforting. It's not fancy, just well made. Their house dressing, a creamy cilantro dressing, is still one of my favorites and honestly one of the reasons I'll order the salad every time. Service was helpful, friendly, and prompt. Everything came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff checked in without hovering. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. It's consistent, welcoming, and reliable. That kind of dependability is worth a lot. Four stars from me and still one of my go-to spots for Northern Mexican food in Sacramento.

Went to dinner here with 3 friends. There was a 30 min wait on a Sunday evening. Not bad. We didn't have to wait long to put in our drink order but my drink never came so I asked server which she then brought out shortly after. I ordered Tasha's Quesadilla. Half a quesadilla filled with chicken and a few other items with a side of rice, beans, sour cream and guac -- $20. Felt a bit over priced for the portion size. The taste was OK -- nothing exciting. Ambiance is OK as well. Tried it, but wouldn't go back.

I was in town for training and checked this restaurant out with colleagues because someone local in the group recommended it. I am from New Mexico, so I tend to avoid Mexican food when I travel since it is rarely as good as back home. This was an exception and definitely worth it. I had the chile rellano and taco plate and it was very good. Glad I checked it out.

I have now seen it all. Ordered a steak taco salad (wife approved of the cilantro salad dressing), the meatball soup (saving for tomorrow) and a combo chicken enchilada and taco plate which came with celery, potatoes, onion - mixed in with the chicken. So it was chicken and vegetable enchiladas. Never seen crunchy celery mixed into an enchilada before - would have preferred ground beef enchiladas but that wasn't an option on uber menu. Food was 4 stars minus the 1 star knock for the celery.

    Side quesadilla $15 & side relleno $9

Came on a Tuesday for lunch & it was crowded but got seated quickly. Complimentary chips and delicious salsa. 3/5 chile relleno. Small portion, lots of breading, minimal cheese and pepper. For $9 it felt overpriced. 3.5/5 asada quesadilla for $15. Small flour tortilla. Asada flavor was good but the meat and cheese wasn't particularly plentiful. Included sour cream and salsa which I appreciated. 4/5 service was good. I've been lucky to have great servers as of late. Overall I was a bit disappointed in the food at this price point. I've been eating a lot of local Mexican food lately and this is usually a solid choice. I'll likely stick to the taquerias in my area for a bit unless it's a special occasion request.

Wow such a cool little neighborhood eatery! I was bummed we were working as it precluded the exciting stuff at the bar. The staff was friendly and on point. Sadly we were somewhat limited having to eat this int he back of a moving rig so burrito it was. The large burrito was perfect. The chicken was nicely chunked and well seasoned, all of the ingredients were fresh and in perfect portion to each other. Tightly wrapped it maintained structural integrity to the last bite which was essential in a moving vehicle. The beans were well cooked and seasoned (not the usual Spackle other places serve) The chips were hot, perfectly fried and just the right amount of salt, and the salsa was perfect. Super fun vibe inside and we were sad we did not have the time to sit down.

Has anyone noticed if they are still charging a separate tax besides sales tax, for the clean up of the street? Or maybe a COVID tax?

What time & days are happy hour?

After covid we don’t have happy hour but the bar it’s open first comes first !!!

    Do you need reservations?

    They do not do reservations.

Does Tres Hermanas cater for a party of 30?

We can make the food but we don’t go & serve it please call the restaurant & talk to blanca thank you !!

Is this a good spot for a date?

If it's a first date, probably not. It gets busy inside. The patio is nice, but you might be forgotten by the servers.

Do they take phone orders .. often I call phone is disconnected ? Big inconvenience for those who don't live in midtown.

Yes, but they are so busy it's easier to order online and pick up.

I have called 6 times now, someone picks up and then hangs up, is this normal or what. I'm trying to ask a question about reservations?

Are you open for pick-up? I'm used to eating the enchiladas every week and having major withdrawals. Is it possible to place an order?

Look at their website, and you will see that they are open for take out. Give them a call, if you want more information.

    Do they cater?

We can do the food, deliver for charge deliver but we don’t go & serve it if you have more question call the restaurant & speak with Anthony

Are dogs allowed in the outdoor seating?

Yes, I have seen dogs out there-

Last time we were there I thought I was able to get just plain tortillas from the tortillas lady spot. But she looked confused then I asked for a few flour tortillas. The portions have been cut in 1/2 for a lot of menu items here over the last 5 years namely the chimichangas but seems like everything else too. The chimichangas used to be twice the size they are now and were loaded with cheese. Now they have no cheese and 1/2 the filling so there mostly flour tortilla now. Very disappointing and the plates they use now are smaller, they used to serve the food on these huge platters. Anyway went there last night (1st time in 3 years) and this is the plate I got. The 2 chimichangas are now the same size as the tamale on the other side of the plate. The service was terrible too. We did not get our food until almost an hour and by the time the food showed up we were full from the chips and bean dip and salsa wich by the way we had to wave them down several times as we seemed invisible to refill the chips and our drinks. We wont be going back again for probably another 3 years. I highly recommend Felipe's in Citrus heights on Auburn blvd. Way better value and the food quality is on par with el tapatio but with five star service!

Unfortunately, the service was lacking during our visit. One of our meals was forgotten and we had to flag down the server to let him know. When we requested a specific number of to-go boxes, we weren't given enough and had to get up and ask for additional boxes ourselves. It's always been a busy place and sometimes hard to get into before a show, but the service was always great. This time we sat outside, which actually had a really nice view of the Golden 1 entrance. Our waiter was really nice and courteous, but it was pretty obvious he was doing the job of about three people. He did the best he could and stayed friendly the whole time, but when you're spread that thin it's hard to stay on top of drinks, food coming out, checking on tables, etc. We didn't really hold that against him because it seemed much more like a staffing issue than anything he was doing wrong. One of the things I've always liked about Polanco is their carafe of Palomas. We ordered one at the bar and then another at the table. When we got the bill, we noticed an extra charge for four cups. After looking at it again, we realized that after paying $48 for a carafe, you're also being charged for the cups you drink it out of. That is honestly one of the most ridiculous charges I've ever seen at a restaurant. I've always really liked this place, so it was disappointing. Being short staffed is one thing, but that's a management issue, not the waiter's fault. Charging people extra for cups after they just bought a $48 carafe of cocktails is just wild. This review does not refer to their food, ambiance, decor or staff. Unfortunately this has to do with under staffing (managing issue) and now charging for CUPS
