Wow! We need to come back and work our way through the menu! Saw the Mezcal bar on the website but found out that hasn't been operating for awhile. However, plenty of amazing drink options and types of mezcal. Menu is so authentic and has a ton of variety! There are even amazing vegan options and a pris fixe vegan 3 course meal that looks amazing! Fresh ingredients. Great portion size. Staff very friendly and helpful. Well worth the trip downtown! Great indoor or outdoor seating. A wonderful evening! Highly recommend. Alvaro was an awesome server and helped to explain and offer suggestions. Kept the pace of the meal perfect!

Ribeye wrapped in Bacon-Dine Downtown 2026
Victor V.

So Dine Downtown week is upon us and I found myself wanting to try out a few restaurants,so after taking a look at the many fine options available this year,I decided my 1st stop this week would be Tequila Museo Mayahuel on K street across from the IMAX movie theatre. I jumped on the OpenTable app and found a very nice reservation available for Saturday night at 7pm-could not have been easier to get a table.Parking in that part of town is always kinda tricky but as sometimes happens,I was running a bit late so I just parked at the parking garage located in the Esquire building a short block away-not sure if there was a better spot to park but for me the ease made it an easy choice. Once we arrived there right at 7p-there was a slight 5 minute wait due to how busy there were on this Saturday night but the hostesses could not have been more cordial-so it was no problem waiting. Once we sat down we had the prix fixe menu-Course 1-Sopa De Elote-Course 2 Chicken Tinga Tostadita-Course 3-Bacon wrapped Ribeye with Mashed potatoes and oven cooked potatoes and asparagus-Course 4-Tres Leches cake for $45. Only thing we added were a couple of very tasty drinks-my Oaxacan Old Fashioned($14.00)-which was very mezcal and tequila forward tasting and we got a drink called Passifora($12.00),which also featured blanco tequila and mezcal with passion fruit. Both drinks were out of this world but the Passifora was the much better drink and I would for sure get that again.Chips and Salsa($3.75)were also ordered, salsa was very good and chips were great-lightly salted. Overall we really enjoyed the fixed menu-found it was a really great value-The elote soup was perfectly textured and flavored-the chicken Tinga tostada was a perfect little bite-the ribeye was very flavorful and the the tres leaches was for sure not dry-which is the problem with many tres leches cakes. I would for sure say the best thing that happened with the Dine Downtown fixed menu is it gave me a nice sampling of what this restaurants chefs were capable of and definitely made me want to come back to try a few items on the menu in the future-which is a great thing to feel as your walking out of any restaurant. So if you find yourself on the fence trying to figure out a spot for a nice upscale Mexican dining experience downtown-don't hesitate to choose Tequila Museo Mayahuel-you won't regret it. PS...Our server that night Jorge was excellent-very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu including the drink options from the bar-a very valued employee there.

We have come here multiple times for our holiday party, The food and services have always been great and it still is. Full bar to make whatever drink your heart desires. However, make sure you check your account as my total should have been $20, not $20 tip for a $16 drink.

Beautiful restaurant. Love the LOVE sign right outside. Great for a photo! My margarita was amazing so I ordered another one the whole beans were so delicious and full of flavor!! I'd go back just for those. My steak tacos were yummy as well! Great vibe! Attentive service. I can't wait to go back!

Taco flight and taco de adobo

So we stopped by on Husbands bday for happy hr. The service was good and the food was GREAT! We had 2 of the taco de adobo, 2 taco flights (beef and chicken) and the asi sabe margarita which is like a watermelon/cucumber combo which was also delicious! We sat outside and the weather was perfect for downtown people-watching. Sooo why only 2 stars you ask, well because before and while we were there I was on their website ordering from the happy hr menu. When our bill came it was a little over $30 more than it should have been! When I asked the waiter about the prices and showed him the online prices at first he asked me "well when did you take that picture?" I showed him that I was actually on the live website. He was stumped so he goes to get the manager. He was nice enough but basically was like oh it needs to be updated and THEN brought me out the physical happy hr menu! I was a tad bit irritated because why would you not have A. Given us a physical menu when we were seated or B. Have your website updated and since it was NOT honored the prices listed! The manager tells me that he would give me a "discount" but there was no accountability and essentially it wasnt a "discount since we paid significantly more than the prices that were listed. Oh and when I was ordering I literally had my phone out, referencing the online menu. But for the fact that the food was SO GOOD, I probably would not go back on principle alone. After seeing that the website prices were different and that we had not been given the physical menu I feel like they should have honored their online prices!

Attended an after hours venue here. Full bar. The food was decent for what it was. One pollo, carnitas, and carne asada street taco. One can mingle in the large bar area or outdoors on the patio. Dead center of downtown Sacramento.

Arrachera Méxicana con Enchilada
Carina H.

I went to Mayahuel for lunch with colleagues, and we started with the chips, salsa, and guacamole. It was addicting, just as any good trio should be. Fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the Arrachera Mexicana con Enchilada. The rice and beans were average, and the enchilada itself was okay. The chicken enchilada was on the dry side, though the generous amount of sauce helped. The flank steak was cooked well, but it felt like it was missing an extra element. Some sort of chimichurri sauce or added seasoning would've brought the whole plate together. Overall, it was a decent lunch spot with good service.

Menu as of 11/20/25

We came in on a Thursday evening, made a reservation through open table. Greeted and promptly seated when we arrived. Place was pretty busy, and the server was fantastic. Food Items: Chips, Salsa, Guacamole - 4/5 - pretty good portion for Guac and chips were replenished a few times. Salsa was alright, felt like I should've asked if they had a spicy salsa. Pistachio mole chicken - 4/5 - this was an experience. Good portion size. Chicken was tender. I found the mole pretty mild. The rice was unusually tasty. Drink items Oaxacan Old Fashioned - 3.9/5 - also an experience. Sweet. Chocolate bitters were an interesting touch. Overall, it was a nice visit to try this space. Would encourage others to check them out. Note: The do not validate parking, also, parking is interesting. The Hilton lot was closed, so I would try the other parking garage on 10th first and take the short walk.

The enchiladas de mole and the guacamole are delicious. We also ordered carnitas and salsa. Love coming here!

This experience was far better than the first visit. It was around 3pm Thursday so easy seating. Ordered chips, salsa and guac- it's not complimentary and that's fine. I enjoyed the taste of the guac. Not too chunky and not all the was smashed. Good flavor! 5/5 Steak tacos- they were good i was not interested in the onions and peppers in it 4/5 Green Enchiladas - i liked how simple these were and they weren't over powered with too many seasonings. The verde sauce is what brings the flavor! I wasn't fan of the rice tasted more like a premade bag to boil rice 4/5 Mexican mule - didn't taste but judging how fast it disappeared 5/5 Mayahuel Fresca-5/5. Refreshing, strong perfect amount of sweetness. Service- 5/5- hostess was welcoming and quick also had a smile! The server was also welcoming, very attentive and did not rush us.

We sat outside during the warm summer night. The drinks were really strong. I ordered the Oaxacan old fashioned. I didn't really care for the Camarones as I didn't enjoy the tequila infused sauce. It was edible, but not the best. I would visit again for their drinks and perhaps other menu items in the future.

Everything was uhmazing! The service was great! The atmosphere was beautiful. The drinks were tasty and strong. The food was delicious. The beet part for me was the dedicated vegan menu! Five stars! Would definitely come here again!!!

Fantastic Spot To "Pregame" Shows @ Goldfields Next Door…read more SITREP We descended upon the Tack Room an hour before our show for "Ally The Piper" (both the classical AND heavy metal bagpiper extraordinaire) began her show! THE SETUP Goldfields is a charming, rustic country-western stylized saloon that serves up beer at good prices. But we weren't interested in beer and wanted quality cocktails. Hence, our pivot next door to the Tack Room! QUALITY COCKTAILS & DRINKS! The Tack Room specializes an amazing array of martinis, bourbons, and other deLISH cocktail drinks at really really reasonable prices! So this was an excellent choice to chill, thus avoiding the tremendous *noise pollution* we were immediately subjected to upon entering Goldfields an hour later for our show. THE LOWDOWN This is a quality bar with plenty of comfortable seating to relax and have quiet, intimate conversations. So if you and your later friend(s) want some privacy, cocktails at a reasonable price, etc., this is a good way to go.

It's themed around horse racing, but not in an overbearing or... tacky way. The mixologist was delightful and had great recommendations, the lights were dim, and the drinks were all on point. The highlight was the espresso martini, which is among the best I've had. It was reminiscent of the one I had at the Starbucks Roastery in NYC, which is high praise. The other coffee drink that surprised me was the Revolver. I always forget about what a good pairing orange and coffee is, and I'll be taking this one back home with me to try! Every other drink we tried was delicious in some unique way. The Pho drink was savory and surprising, the New York Sour was rich and flavorful, and the Practical Move was refreshing. Will definitely return here after dinner to sip an espresso martini for dessert!

It actually worked out perfect for us. It gave us space to sit, relax, and have a good conversation without feeling cramped. We ordered a couple of colorful drinks that were nicely balanced and flavorful, not too overpowering, and easy to enjoy. The music was hip-hop which is right up my alley, so the vibe was definitely on point. What really stood out was the atmosphere. I've never been in a bar quite like this where jellyfish were hanging from the ceiling, and a whole underwater theme. I was told a mermaid appears over the bar at certain times, but sadly, I didn't get to see her this visit. Overall, it was a great spot to end the night after the movie. The security guards we're blatantly discriminating against my friend for no good reason. Also, security apparently accepts bribes at the front door to let people in, so much for safety. The drinks were in my opinion overpriced and didn't taste good. Maybe I'm biased because my whole experience here put a complete sour taste in my mouth. Then, to top it all off my friends and I were being harassed by two patrons who had clearly been overserved the entire time we were there. We had no choice but to leave and we will never be back again! After visiting I wanted to leave a review because I felt other people should steer clear. To my surprise, I read reviews here that mentioned almost the exact experience we had. So, this is not an isolated incident and Dive Bar has not taken our comments into consideration. Disclaimer: I did not have this experience, but it was very disheartening to see all the reviews, tik toks, reels, etc. I found after visiting Dive Bar in which women and men are claiming to have been roofied. This may or may not be true, but it can't be a coincidence this many people have had the same experience. There needs to be an investigation into this bar. I myself will be placing a call to the BBB and I hope that anyone who has had that experience feels empowered to speak to the authorities.

We shared that between 3 people and it was a good snack while we sipped on our tropical drinks, but we were still hungry when we left. Tons of stains on the table and felt peeling. The balls all chipped and scratched. Also there was some issue with something being stuck when the game was first setup with my friend putting it together but I wasn't paying attention. He had to flag down a worker to help resolve the issue. I get it, things are pricey these days, so a newer business has to find a deal when they can, but at least find a way to improve an already overly used item. I don't expect brand new pool tables, but at least tables that look like the business cares Not to mention the ground and walls were just dirty and gross. Seemed like nobody is really cleaning the place. All the tables tops seemed sticky (if you know you know). The velvet lounge just kinda seemed like a random thrown together area, but maybe on a slow Monday it didn't feel right with lack of people.
