It was a bit quiet for a Thursday night, but much of K Street is these days. The service was great. The waiters were polite and attentive. The food was good! I love the variety they have on their menu. A lot of Mexican dishes that celebrate different regional Mexican cuisines. I had the Cochinita pibil. It was very flavorful and tender. My husband had the three enchiladas with different sauces and those were great as well. The sauces were very interesting! I wish there had been a bit more ambiance. It was very quiet inside with just a few other tables filled. The food was great, so hopefully we just caught them on a slow night!

This was our first time coming here and we were craving Mexican food. We had the margaritas and the vegan juice. Our starters: Sikil Pak (so good and creamy! The blue corn chip was awesome) and the bocaditos (perfect bite size samplers). I got the enjococada michocoana and husband got the shrimp tacos. He said the shrimp was good but wished there was more lime and more spice. Mine was good - tasted like enchilada stuffed with ricotta. We would def come back again to try new dishes!

Long list of tequilas, delicious food. The best Mole around next to my mom. Delicious salads and a Poblano soup that will make you return for seconds. The service was great. The decor is amazing, outside and inside.

Ribeye wrapped in Bacon-Dine Downtown 2026

So Dine Downtown week is upon us and I found myself wanting to try out a few restaurants,so after taking a look at the many fine options available this year,I decided my 1st stop this week would be Tequila Museo Mayahuel on K street across from the IMAX movie theatre. I jumped on the OpenTable app and found a very nice reservation available for Saturday night at 7pm-could not have been easier to get a table.Parking in that part of town is always kinda tricky but as sometimes happens,I was running a bit late so I just parked at the parking garage located in the Esquire building a short block away-not sure if there was a better spot to park but for me the ease made it an easy choice. Once we arrived there right at 7p-there was a slight 5 minute wait due to how busy there were on this Saturday night but the hostesses could not have been more cordial-so it was no problem waiting. Once we sat down we had the prix fixe menu-Course 1-Sopa De Elote-Course 2 Chicken Tinga Tostadita-Course 3-Bacon wrapped Ribeye with Mashed potatoes and oven cooked potatoes and asparagus-Course 4-Tres Leches cake for $45. Only thing we added were a couple of very tasty drinks-my Oaxacan Old Fashioned($14.00)-which was very mezcal and tequila forward tasting and we got a drink called Passifora($12.00),which also featured blanco tequila and mezcal with passion fruit. Both drinks were out of this world but the Passifora was the much better drink and I would for sure get that again.Chips and Salsa($3.75)were also ordered, salsa was very good and chips were great-lightly salted. Overall we really enjoyed the fixed menu-found it was a really great value-The elote soup was perfectly textured and flavored-the chicken Tinga tostada was a perfect little bite-the ribeye was very flavorful and the the tres leaches was for sure not dry-which is the problem with many tres leches cakes. I would for sure say the best thing that happened with the Dine Downtown fixed menu is it gave me a nice sampling of what this restaurants chefs were capable of and definitely made me want to come back to try a few items on the menu in the future-which is a great thing to feel as your walking out of any restaurant. So if you find yourself on the fence trying to figure out a spot for a nice upscale Mexican dining experience downtown-don't hesitate to choose Tequila Museo Mayahuel-you won't regret it. PS...Our server that night Jorge was excellent-very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu including the drink options from the bar-a very valued employee there.

We have come here multiple times for our holiday party, The food and services have always been great and it still is. Full bar to make whatever drink your heart desires. However, make sure you check your account as my total should have been $20, not $20 tip for a $16 drink.

It was an OK experience. The staff was great from beginning to end, so no complaints there. The food part of the experience was just OK. With so many options for Mexican food in the area, from really cheap to more upscale, there's a lot of competition for those wanting Mexican food. Hard to describe, but the food was lacking something. If it were a path, it would reach just short of hitting the final target. There was something that fell just short. It was ok food but nothing that blew me away, especially in comparison to the other options around. Even when asking for something spicier for salsa, it wasn't spicy. Just a little little tiny tickle on the tongue.

Wow! We need to come back and work our way through the menu! Saw the Mezcal bar on the website but found out that hasn't been operating for awhile. However, plenty of amazing drink options and types of mezcal. Menu is so authentic and has a ton of variety! There are even amazing vegan options and a pris fixe vegan 3 course meal that looks amazing! Fresh ingredients. Great portion size. Staff very friendly and helpful. Well worth the trip downtown! Great indoor or outdoor seating. A wonderful evening! Highly recommend. Alvaro was an awesome server and helped to explain and offer suggestions. Kept the pace of the meal perfect!

Beautiful restaurant. Love the LOVE sign right outside. Great for a photo! My margarita was amazing so I ordered another one the whole beans were so delicious and full of flavor!! I'd go back just for those. My steak tacos were yummy as well! Great vibe! Attentive service. I can't wait to go back!

    Arrachera Méxicana con Enchilada

I went to Mayahuel for lunch with colleagues, and we started with the chips, salsa, and guacamole. It was addicting, just as any good trio should be. Fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the Arrachera Mexicana con Enchilada. The rice and beans were average, and the enchilada itself was okay. The chicken enchilada was on the dry side, though the generous amount of sauce helped. The flank steak was cooked well, but it felt like it was missing an extra element. Some sort of chimichurri sauce or added seasoning would've brought the whole plate together. Overall, it was a decent lunch spot with good service.

We came in on a Thursday evening, made a reservation through open table. Greeted and promptly seated when we arrived. Place was pretty busy, and the server was fantastic. Food Items: Chips, Salsa, Guacamole - 4/5 - pretty good portion for Guac and chips were replenished a few times. Salsa was alright, felt like I should've asked if they had a spicy salsa. Pistachio mole chicken - 4/5 - this was an experience. Good portion size. Chicken was tender. I found the mole pretty mild. The rice was unusually tasty. Drink items Oaxacan Old Fashioned - 3.9/5 - also an experience. Sweet. Chocolate bitters were an interesting touch. Overall, it was a nice visit to try this space. Would encourage others to check them out. Note: The do not validate parking, also, parking is interesting. The Hilton lot was closed, so I would try the other parking garage on 10th first and take the short walk.

Attended an after hours venue here. Full bar. The food was decent for what it was. One pollo, carnitas, and carne asada street taco. One can mingle in the large bar area or outdoors on the patio. Dead center of downtown Sacramento.

Was so disappointed! Got to our table around 1:15 didn't get our food until 2:40, or so. Felt ignored like we were a problem to serve at a restaurant. Considering the restaurant is right downtown by the convention center you think they would have better service especially when a convention is in town

Fantastic Spot To "Pregame" Shows @ Goldfields Next Door…read more SITREP We descended upon the Tack Room an hour before our show for "Ally The Piper" (both the classical AND heavy metal bagpiper extraordinaire) began her show! THE SETUP Goldfields is a charming, rustic country-western stylized saloon that serves up beer at good prices. But we weren't interested in beer and wanted quality cocktails. Hence, our pivot next door to the Tack Room! QUALITY COCKTAILS & DRINKS! The Tack Room specializes an amazing array of martinis, bourbons, and other deLISH cocktail drinks at really really reasonable prices! So this was an excellent choice to chill, thus avoiding the tremendous *noise pollution* we were immediately subjected to upon entering Goldfields an hour later for our show. THE LOWDOWN This is a quality bar with plenty of comfortable seating to relax and have quiet, intimate conversations. It's themed around horse racing, but not in an overbearing or... tacky way. The mixologist was delightful and had great recommendations, the lights were dim, and the drinks were all on point. The highlight was the espresso martini, which is among the best I've had. It was reminiscent of the one I had at the Starbucks Roastery in NYC, which is high praise. The other coffee drink that surprised me was the Revolver. I always forget about what a good pairing orange and coffee is, and I'll be taking this one back home with me to try! Every other drink we tried was delicious in some unique way. The Pho drink was savory and surprising, the New York Sour was rich and flavorful, and the Practical Move was refreshing. Will definitely return here after dinner to sip an espresso martini for dessert!
