Love this place. Staff are wonderful and it's great for people watching and meeting friends at Yonge & St Clair.

This particular location is located at the intersection of Yonge and St. Clair where it's been open for a couple of years now. I've been to this location a few times and it's the perfect place to grab some caffeine if you're in the neighbourhood. Beverage wise, Pilot Coffee has your usual espresso based coffee options (Americano, latte, cortado, flat white, etc.) as well as matcha drinks as well. There are some pastries available for purchase as well that are on display. This location is smaller compared to their other locations but has several tables indoors for you to enjoy your beverage. They also have coffee gear and equipment if you'd like to grab something to brew your coffee at home. Service is always great and staff make your drinks at a reasonable time. The space is accessible where there is a washroom available as well. You are able to either grab your coffee to go or have it there. Overall, you can trust Pilot Coffee to give you that caffeine hit you are looking for any time of the day. This location is in the heart of Yonge and St. Clair making it a prime location for anyone who lives or works in the neighbourhood!

I arrived around 10am on a Saturday morning, got an almond latte and an almond croissant. I drank my latte first and slowly nibbled on the croissant because I wasn't too hungry. The latte was very rich in the almond flavour, and the croissant was nice and flaky. The chairs at the front of the cafe are very comfortable with high arm and back rest. The biggest turn off though was around lunchtime a lady came to collect my empty cup and plate and told me I cannot stay so long, max. one hour sitting time. I had all intentions to order again with them for lunch because as I was studying I saw tables next to me really enjoyed their salads and sandwiches. But after being told I've been sitting too long - when there were no signs of a seating time limit - I decided to just leave. They could've approached me by first asking if I want anything else, and most likely I'll get the hint and order again as I had intended. Instead, they directly told me there's an one hour seating limit that was not posted anywhere. I'd rather go to a Starbucks then, at least I won't be told to leave.

Here is a hint always ask for light ice they still give you plenty of ice, even if the cold brew comes out cold. Otherwise you get a cup full of ice. De Mello coffee is expensivei. However, in the scheme of things it is a good value because the coffee beans they use have a good solid caffeine kick and it tastes good! (My overall favorite place is still across the street a couple blocks North at Himalayan coffee. It's folksy, a lot less expensive and I always feel happy there, especially after I get a cute latte art on my drink.). The Coconut island cost $8.50 plus tax or $9.60! De Mello Coffee is creative marketing their coffee beans. They have crazy names by cotton candy, lolipop, birthday cake, dead, man, walking, etc. however, a small bag of beans is super super expensive. But their marketing makes you wanna try it and then afterwards you're like oh I guess I taste something but it's still not worth the cost. I'm sorry if this review leaves you puzzled to go or not. It's worth trying. The baked goods look amazing and as long as you get one that is moist, are excellent. Well, I return? Yes.

The cafe itself boasts a modern and inviting atmosphere, with a minimalist design that puts the focus on the coffee experience. The service at De Mello is friendly and knowledgeable, with baristas often able to provide helpful recommendations. While primarily a coffee shop, they also offer a selection of pastries and light bites to accompany your beverage. However, as with any popular spot, De Mello can get quite busy, particularly during peak hours. This can sometimes make finding a seat challenging. I really enjoyed my mocha and got a blend of the dancing goats which was grinded for me. Overall I highly recommend this spot and say to go on a non peak hour time of the day.
