Although the restaurant is on the smaller side with the feel of a classic French bistro, our large group of 10 fit comfortably for brunch. The menu is reasonably priced with some classic French dishes including crepes. My sister and I each enjoyed the La Provencale crepe filled with goat cheese, spinach, pesto, and olives. It was cut in two and came with a side salad. Although it was well portioned and delicious, the dough was slightly thicker than the crepes we've had in France and rolled like a wrap rather than folded like a crepe. We also enjoyed the Tuna Tartine, which was avocado toast topped with ahi tuna tartare, and the quiche of the day. A croissant drizzled with chocolate sauce was a sweet treat at the end of the meal. Cute French bistro in downtown Media Pa. We were going to the arts festival that was being held locally and made reservations to stop in here first. We went there to have a Sunday Brunch and had made a reservation. We were quickly seated by the window. Love the place, it was cozy and all the tables were full but still didn't feel too crowded. I ordered Asparagus omelette and my spouse ordered the French toast. The omelette came with a side salad (thankfully with no dressing)and house potato. Loved every bite. Though I was missing bread so ordered a butter croissant. My spouse's French toast ( I believe they used french baguette?came with fresh sliced strawberries and cream and maple syrup. It was just the perfect portion size for him. He then ordered house pancakes (3, in a serving) and make your omelette. They were very tasty and delicious, but a bit much. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. They claimed there was no availability, but when I inquired about a table that was available, the teen hostess realized there were in fact multiple tables available. We were seated for an hour with no silverware. Given the wait, we finally requested bread when we saw it was offered to another table (for context my entire party were POC). The drink I ordered half way through the wait never came and when the food finally arrived, my entree was the size of an appetizer (1 asparagus and 4 scallops). I attempted to exchange it for an alternative dish but the manager Emma explained to me that there was "nothing wrong with the dish" so the the owner would agree with her decision not to comp anything and she stood by her decision. When I asked about the other aspects of the poor service, she said we shouldn't have come on a Wednesday during a major event. I actually looked around to ensure I wasn't being pranked. What a wonderful French restaurant in Media! The service was amazing and everyone was so nice and friendly. We ordered the burger, the tuna tartine, the escargots, and the crepe. I was surprised by how the crepe looked like a pressed wrap! Definitely was not expecting such large portions but I'm not complaining. The crepe itself was a bit dry but that's ok because I just dipped it in the escargot sauce even if maybe that's not the way to eat it. However speaking of the escargots... that dish was AMAZING. We just ate up all the butter garlic sauce with our bread, crepes, fries, everything!!! Again that was probably not the way to eat it but it was just that good. No sauce was left at the end. It's restaurant week in Media so we decided to stop in for a prix fix dinner at $55 a person--a great way to try out some new menu items. It was early and even though there were other diners, we were told we could sit anywhere so of course we chose a beautiful sunny table by the window. Really enjoyed our choices. The chicken was tender and moist and the scallops were wonderful as well. No additional table side seasonings (i.e. salt and pepper) needed. Service was exceptional as usual. The wine selections can't be beat and we've never had a glass we didn't like including this time. We were surprised at the quality of food. First, the food was served HOT!!! When was the last time you ate at a restaurant that didn't serve you tepid food? The steam was coming off the French Onion Soup, which I have to say, was fantastic. An apex of balance. Overall notes - great service and even better food. I visited with my girlfriend to celebrate her paying off her student loans and we couldn't have had a better experience. We sat at the side window with a good view of downtown Media at night, and were quickly able to get in an order of wine and truffle fries to start. I'd recommend a starter to give time for conversation and enjoying the great wine selection, as the main entrees took a bit to come out, but it was expected with how busy the place was. I had the seafood risotto and my girlfriend had the pan-seared scallops (her go-to) and we were both enthralled with our dishes. The risotto was so full of flavor and cooked to perfection, and luckily I got to try a piece of scallop as well, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender. They have reasonably sized portions, which I appreciated as it gave us a chance to enjoy the dessert menu as well. My girlfriend ordered the nuts and berries espresso martini, and I had the lavender espresso martini. Might have been the best espresso martini I've had to date. I would've ordered another if I didn't have to drive home! We also shared the strawberry nutella crepe. It was unbelievably light and fluffy, where no single flavor overpowered the others. After reading the reviews for dining options in Media, voila! Please give additional time for parking and walking. La Belle is a small quaint restaurant with a dark romantic vibe. The softly played blend of pop songs past and somewhat present were most inviting. At time it was hard to hear because of the shared space with a 'sports bar". It seems the separation was part of the Mitch and heavy drapes. I had salmon, the portions are fair and cooked perfectly however the yellow squash and haricots were extremely salty. The onion soup was divine. The entrees were not overly priced for the portions. Because the spaced is shared at times it was too loud to fully enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. My server was pretentious. Absolutely phenomenal meal! I took my girlfriend here after a show and it was fantastic. Great ambiance, great tunes, the service was wonderful -now to the food. We had the Escargots de Bourgogne which was delicious. Make sure to order extra bread to sop up the garlic/butter. This was followed by the Bucatini auaviar (pasta with mushroom caviar butter sauce) and the Truite Amandine (trout). I had a great Sauvignon Blac wine with dinner and the cocktails were well made. The dessert was delicious, we had the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee, and I'm not even a desert guy and couldn't eat it fast enough. Don't even think twice about coming here- we can't wait to come back. I love this adorable, French bistro right in the heart of Media! I came here for brunch last weekend and my friend and I loved our meals. We had reservations and were seated right away. I got one of their special drinks, which was a christmas mimosa. I loved it! It was super unique and the flavored ice cube melting is what gave it flavor. For my meal, I had their quiche of the day. It was asparagus, red pepper, and parmesan. It was SO GOOD! I loved how cheesy it was. The crust was crispy and the top was perfectly brown. I definitely recommend it! I loved everything here and would definitely come back for brunch. The only reason it isn't 5 stars, is the service. Pinot noir was nice and the pickle juice martini was interesting. The charcuterie needed some jam and the (plain) walnuts added nothing. We can guess cheeses but they should explain what is on the plate. Crepes...his was super good; mine was lukewarm and I mentioned it and the waiter took it back and it was microwaved to a thousand degrees. The salad that accompanied both crepes was okay. We even asked for more of the satisfyingly warm rolls to sop up the delicious muscle broth. Next came our hanger steaks. WOW! The steak melted in my mouth. Can't wait to order this again! The music's was loud so everyone was trying to talk above the noise. As a result, none of us could hear what others in our party were saying. So if you want food -- it's great. I was able to get a table here without a reservation for dining under the stars. If you go early enough, you should not have any issues getting a street table. I have very limited French food experience outside of some delicious dishes I had on cruises and other special occasions. For our hors d'oeuvres, I had to try the Soupe a l'oignon aka the French Onion soup. French Onion soup is one of my favorite things on earth and it was the one exception I made when I stopped eating meat for over 3 years. (Beef broth). If you have French onion soup on your menu, I am getting it no matter what the time of year. Of course here we are in the summer during dining under the stars and I am going for hot soup. Yes, this is happening. To be honest, it was good but was not my favorite. But that's ok. Maybe I'm a FO snob. My dad started his meal with the aubergine frite (fried eggplant). It was circular fried eggplant stacked with tomato and mozzarella at the top. It was plated beautifully. He liked it. Now for dinner, my dad ordered the Noix de St. Jacques which was scallops with fennel and arugula. To sum it up it was a beautiful salad with some gorgeous large seared scallops. It was different than any other way he had scallops before. For me, I had to try a crepe. I love crepes but have stuck to sweet dessert crepes and have not really gone into savory category. I went with the La Mer, which is shirmp, crab and lobster in swiss cheese and white wine cream sauce. Oh my lord. This was amazing. It was so good!! It comes cut in half and I could barely eat 1 half and had plenty to take home. It was delicious and I say skip the entrees and order a crepe as your meal. 4.5 stars. While chilling with my in-laws, we successfully converged on "French food" for dinner one evening. Some of them had been to La Belle Epoque before, but it was my first time. We found parking in a nearby structure and walked over. The gracious wait staff seated us right away at the table in the middle of the restaurant. It was quite empty, but we filled the place with our energy, playing games and drinking wine. Well, I had a martini, but that's besides the point. Appetizers were tasty and included escargot and charcuterie. The best part was dipping the bread into the escargot garlic and oil. Or just slathering the bread with butter and salt. For my entrée, my mouth watered at the thought of Boeuf Bourguignon, so I settled on that, though I would normally have gotten something like steak or salmon. When in a French restaurant! Everything about the Boeuf Bourguignon lived up to my expectations, especially the flavor. I couldn't finish it all, but it was such a satisfying dish. Unfortunately not all my in-laws enjoyed their food as much as I did, especially my mother-in-law, whose crêpe was way too thick to be called a crêpe. The desserts were just okay too. From the wine, to the cocktails to the food and crepes for dessert, everything was excellent.
