    Asparagus omelette

We went there to have a Sunday Brunch and had made a reservation. We were quickly seated by the window. Love the place, it was cozy and all the tables were full but still didn't feel too crowded. I ordered Asparagus omelette and my spouse ordered the French toast. The omelette came with a side salad (thankfully with no dressing)and house potato. Loved every bite. Though I was missing bread so ordered a butter croissant. My spouse's French toast ( I believe they used french baguette?came with fresh sliced strawberries and cream and maple syrup. It was just the perfect portion size for him. He then ordered house pancakes (3, in a serving) and make your omelette. They were very tasty and delicious, but a bit much. I then ordered a French fries and asked them to bait make it crispy, which was ok. But the drinks we ordered were amazing. Overall a wonderful brunch date. We were well taken care by Thomas. Looking forward to going back again.

Great staff interactions from entering the restaurant through end of dinner (friendly, attentive, knowledgeable). Tried the eggplant appetizer - it was a very large delicious serving. Also had the salmon carpaccio - it was amazing and a large serving - oh my! Tried the prosciutto wrapped lobster tail special - the accompanying risotto was delish. The scallops were tops. Realllllly enjoy La Belle Epoque and will return again (and again). Prices are appropriate.

What a wonderful French restaurant in Media! The service was amazing and everyone was so nice and friendly. We ordered the burger, the tuna tartine, the escargots, and the crepe. I was surprised by how the crepe looked like a pressed wrap! Definitely was not expecting such large portions but I'm not complaining. The crepe itself was a bit dry but that's ok because I just dipped it in the escargot sauce even if maybe that's not the way to eat it. However speaking of the escargots... that dish was AMAZING. We just ate up all the butter garlic sauce with our bread, crepes, fries, everything!!! Again that was probably not the way to eat it but it was just that good. No sauce was left at the end. And the escargots were nice and chewy. Would go back for that for sure !!!

It's restaurant week in Media so we decided to stop in for a prix fix dinner at $55 a person--a great way to try out some new menu items. It was early and even though there were other diners, we were told we could sit anywhere so of course we chose a beautiful sunny table by the window. Really enjoyed our choices. The chicken was tender and moist and the scallops were wonderful as well. No additional table side seasonings (i.e. salt and pepper) needed. Service was exceptional as usual. The wine selections can't be beat and we've never had a glass we didn't like including this time. We finished the meal with creme brûlée and chocolate mouse and a duo of espressos--ciao Bella or should I say Au revoir ma belle!

This is a very small establishment, so I always prefer the outside seating when it's nice out. The brunch is good here and the servers are always kind.

Before a local play I wanted to try something laidback so I could relax and enjoy the play. La Belle Epoque was part of an online search for restaurants. After reading the reviews for dining options in Media, voila! Please give additional time for parking and walking. La Belle is a small quaint restaurant with a dark romantic vibe. The softly played blend of pop songs past and somewhat present were most inviting. At time it was hard to hear because of the shared space with a 'sports bar". It seems the separation was part of the Mitch and heavy drapes. I had salmon, the portions are fair and cooked perfectly however the yellow squash and haricots were extremely salty. The onion soup was divine. The entrees were not overly priced for the portions. Because the spaced is shared at times it was too loud to fully enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. My server was pretentious. Would I return? Probably not, but I would not discourage others.

I love this adorable, French bistro right in the heart of Media! I came here for brunch last weekend and my friend and I loved our meals. We had reservations and were seated right away. I got one of their special drinks, which was a christmas mimosa. I loved it! It was super unique and the flavored ice cube melting is what gave it flavor. For my meal, I had their quiche of the day. It was asparagus, red pepper, and parmesan. It was SO GOOD! I loved how cheesy it was. The crust was crispy and the top was perfectly brown. I definitely recommend it! I loved everything here and would definitely come back for brunch. The only reason it isn't 5 stars, is the service. Our server was nice, but we were never asked if we wanted another drink and we constantly had to ask for water refills. Other than that, it was a great brunch!

My reviews are based on 4 criteria: Presentation, Service, Taste, and Ambiance. I came here with two others on a Thursday for lunch. Presentation: Very well maintained restaurant and was very empty at the time we went. Service: Great service but I believe it was attributed to the time we went. Taste: The food was great, the tartine felt refreshing and light. No complaints from the two others. Ambience: Very organized and clean dining area. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and everything went well. I am holding my true review for when I am able to go during a saturday or sunday to see how they operate under pressure. I would not recommend parties bigger than four because of the tight space.

    Steak frites I think ?

The ambiance was good and the food was pretty good but didn't blow us away. We got the burger and steak frites and the burger was pretty decent but would have been AMAZING if it came with an ailo or some sauce for it. The steak was pretty good (we're used to eating in the city so our expectations are high). The ambiance is great for a date night though. We didn't get any drinks.

My husband, who has been to Paris and is very particular about his escargot, said it was the closest he has ever had to the real thing. That alone says a lot. We started with the mushroom toast, which was hands down the best toast we have ever had, along with deviled eggs topped with salmon roe that added the perfect burst of flavor. Every bite felt thoughtful and elevated. For our mains, we ordered the coq au vin and duck frites, and both were outstanding. The sauces were rich and balanced, and the meats were cooked perfectly. Dessert sealed the deal with crème brûlée and pot de crème. The crème brûlée, especially, was a masterpiece. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is small and charming with a cozy, intimate feel. The staff were warm and attentive and made the whole experience even better. This place deserves way more hype than it gets. If you are anywhere near Haddonfield, do not miss it.

We made our reservation the night before and were off. Entering, you immediately notice only about half a dozen tables in the same room the food is prepared. It's a nice setting that is definitely unique. We started with a tomato bisque. It was creamy, smooth, and a great hot soup to start off a chilly winter evening. My main course was the Duck Frites. A generous helping of fries, with a smaller helping of duck strips. The amount of duck was a little disappointing, but it had a good flavor and a touch chewy. It came with an unusual banyuls aioli sauce on the side, that I quite liked. We finished the evening with a crepe cake that was quite large. I would definitely recommend splitting it, but I found it to be lovely sweet way to end the evening. The crepe was probably about ten layers and soft enough to cut through with a spoon. It came served with a raspberry coulis and powdered sugar. The ends were fired to conclude the dish with a light crunch. All and all, I enjoyed my meal at the Little Hen. If you're in the area, it's a nice place to have an upscale meal or a romantic evening in a small town not all too far outside of Philadelphia.

The space appears brighter and more inviting than before, and their menu although small had additional specials. The young man who greeted us at the door was also our server. When I asked him about the French onion soup, he said it was their most popular appetizer, so we both decided to try it. Toasted French bread and a delicious butter flavored with a bit of tomato was lovely as we enjoyed our own wine. (The restaurant is still BYOB.) A complimentary "shot" of mushroom soup was hot and creamy. When the French onion soup came out, we couldn't say enough about it. It wasn't overly cheesy or "bready" as it just had a few toasted croutons on top. The soup itself wasn't too salty as onion soup sometimes tends to be. As an entree, I had the special which was rock shrimp with a Fra Diavolo sauce over pasta. It wasn't as spicy as I had hoped, and I would have loved bigger pieces of shrimp/more shrimp, but it was still good. My husband enjoyed his harissa lamb ragout over cavatappi even though his was spicier than expected and, similar to mine, could have had more lamb. Our attentive server made sure everything came out at the right time. The restaurant was quiet and comfortable, and we enjoyed a rare weeknight out. I'm sure we'll be back.

It had been awhile since we dined there last. The problem, service. We arrived a bit early, but were sat right away. The server, Delroy had 5 tables, and we watched as he went back and forth to each table, being jovial and asking each table how was everything. He then came towards our table, and took a swift turn to give more water to the table next to us. He could have at least acknowledged us during his many table visits to every other table, but chose not to. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting he finally decided to greet us. My wife and I do not drink alcohol and the look of disgust on his face when he was removing the wine glasses from our table was quite obvious. At that point he figured a low check amount without selling a bottle of wine, so the effort to give a great dining experience went to zero immediately. He told us the specials and disappeared for another 15 mins. He came back to take our order, and that was the last time he visited our table! We never saw him again. The non alcoholic drinks were delivered by the back waiter, and may I say she was incredibly attentive to us. We were delighted by the appetizer, shrimp and crabmeat in a garlic sauce. Then the entrees came out. We actually enjoyed the appetizer so much, had Delroy decided to visit our table again, or bother to check how everything came out, we would have ordered another one. I wanted another drink, but was unable to get one because he was making multiple table visits to all the other tables, telling stories about his wine experiences, but again, never returned to our table, not even once! We really wanted to order the crème brûlée for dessert as it was my wife's favorite and we were celebrating her birthday, but he refused to come to our table. At this point, we just wanted to pay the check and leave, go somewhere to get dessert and celebrate her birthday. We finished our meal, and I actually had to call out to him as he passed our table to get his attention for the check, he glanced over and said, "one minute" and kept walking. Then he starting walking our way and just passed our table again, and went to water the table next to us for the fourth time, before turning around, staring at me, without a word, as I asked for the check. He said, "no dessert"? I said no, just the check. He sent the back waiter with the check, then picked it up from the table, after processing it, dropped it on our table without a word, and walked away. Against my better judgement, I still left him a 20% gratuity. We left and went elsewhere to celebrate.

Once inside, the feeling was a lot better. Not much in the way of art work on the walls, but still had a nice warm feeling. There were 3 of us and we did a lot of sharing. The Scallops in Shredded Filo was good but the Crab & Artichoke, with garlic aioli, parsley and capers was definitely "the winner". The Seafood Ceviche with scallops, halibut and shrimp was also delicious. While 2 of us were still enjoying our appetizers, our entrees were brought to the table and our plates moved to make room for them. I made the comment to no one in particular that I would try to eat faster as the seafood ceviche was pushed off to the side of the table. We had a 7 pm reservation and for the most part the restaurant was full by that time but we were not intentionally eating slowly. I could see if we might be taking up too much time eating and they had to move the tables but that was not the case as the restaurant was only half full by the time we left. For an establishment that is charging the prices that it is, Avg $18 for appetizers, high $30s for entrees, no one wants to feel rushed. The Halibut Almondine with Beurre Blank was good but not as good as we had hoped, with it being on the dry-side. The Dorado with Baby Vegetables was delicious as well as beautifully presented with "potato fish scales". A shared warm Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream completed our meal. Their menu is extensive making it an easy decision to return but I will mention that we would like a more leisurely experience this time around.
