Can only give a review on the bar... Great espresso martini made with real espresso! Bar is dark and feels cozy, great date spot! Bar tenders were engaging and attentive. We didn't eat, so cannot give any feedback but it smelled good inside. Only negative review was the drink was $19. That's a lot of west Chester.... We're not in the city.

Left Jolene's feeling completely ripped off. While such a beautiful space, this restaurant will not last. Overly pretentious, and trying to be high end. The portions and prices are laughable. I arrive for my 7:15 reservation midweek, at approximately 7:05. The restaurant is probably 1/4 full, with multiple empty two tops. The host asked me how far my friend was. I said 5-10 minutes. She acted like she was going to seat me, then proceeded to walk me to the bar saying I can order a drink and hangout there until my friend arrived. Weird. I opted to stand outside. This really set the tone. Food was cooked well, however the prices/portions were insulting. I ordered the french onion soup, escargot (star of the show), and the gnocchi. The french onion soup was nothing to write home about. A small spoon should be given with the escargot to get all the amazing garlic sauce as the bread just didn't sop it all up. The gnocchi was $27. Probably cost $3 to make. And could barely satiate a small child. The gnocchi pieces were very small, and not much of it. The crab was a tease. If you're going to charge an entree price for a second course, then portion this out appropriately. My girlfriend ordered a $37 fish entree. She said the piece of fish was small, and it was hidden under foam, served with minimal veg, and not even a carb. For $37 this is truly a slap in the face. I tasted her lemon olive oil cake which was very good. Our server was attentive on a positive note. I did request everything be coursed out and I was served my soup and escargot at the same time while my friend watched me eat. I just cant get past the pricing and portions.

This was the most exceptional birthday dinner! We had to come on a Tuesday even though my birthday was on a Monday because of their business hours. However it did not disappoint! While it was a slower business day the experience was just as lovely as a busy Friday or Saturday evening. We had the most exceptional service. The oysters were the best I've ever experienced and I loved the presentation. Our entrees weren't huge portions, but definitely enough to keep us satisfied. While it is on the more expensive end I think the key to a full Jolene's experience is to order multiple courses to experience the intention of their menu. It's a celebratory experience of fine dining and that's just a part of it! Loved every bit of this experience and will definitely be back for the next celebration!

The service here was fantastic and food was truly exceptional! My only comment would be that for a $17 glass of wine, the pour could be improved. It was small. But overall, lovely dinner experience here with beautiful decor + atmosphere. Would return.

I had the Della Chef salad and I tried my best to eat it but it was not edible. They brought us bread with no butter or olive oil. We had to ask for the olive oil. The bread tasted stale and wasn't very good at all. We started with the Brussel sprouts and they were just mid. Nothing exciting about them. They drowned my salad in dressing. Way, way, way too much dressing. If they used half the dressing that was on there, it would have been too much. My tongue was hurting after 3 bites. I really wanted to like this place, but the food just did not hit. I'm giving 2 stars because the waitress was awesome and the ambiance of the place was great.

Our server was awesome, she was able to elegantly go over the vast number of appetiser and main food additions, without having to refer to any notes. I had the calamari salad. It was very good. Nice balance of flavours, arugula and shaved Parmesan, with just the perfect amount of dressing. For my main entree, I chose one of the special additions, Fettuccini dish that included, muscles, nice size shrimp and olives. This dish was amazing! I couldn't finish it all. Can't wait to enjoy the next day! They also have a nice cocktail and wine menu. I got a dirty martini with blue cheese olives, yum! Overall, a great experience. Nice casual atmosphere, a great server, manager and support staff. I can't wait to go back again.

While it's a bit of a trek for us, it's the perfect halfway point to meet up with friends. My husband and I enjoyed the red wine flight and ended up sharing a bottle of the Shiraz, which was drinkable and good. The food menu is surprisingly extensive--whether you're looking for a full meal or just some tapas to pair with your wine, they've got you covered. We didn't eat this time since we weren't hungry, but everything looked and smelled fantastic. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable, which added to the great experience. My only complaint is the corkage fee if you choose to enjoy a bottle on-site. This is only the second time I've ever encountered a corkage fee at a tasting room, and we've visited many across some of the world's most renowned wine regions. It's a bit puzzling, especially in a relaxed setting like this. None of the Pennsylvania wineries do this but this tasting room and a tasting room in West Chester do and it's really obnoxious. But the good news is the prices at this tasting room are affordable and they don't charge a credit card fee! That said, we'd definitely come back. Great wine, great atmosphere, and a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

My wife and I stopped in here on a Thursday night for their "pizza and a carafe of wine for $30"…read morespecial, which I believe is every Thursday night (for the quality of pizza and wine, a steal and a half if you ask me). The first pizza and carafe was so good that we stayed for another round! The pizzas were a decent size and had great flavor. Not overly greasy, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. Plus the crust was perfectly charred. One pizza may be enough for 2 people, but I'd order a pizza per person to be safe. The wine was great too. They clearly are wine experts and take pride in a sophisticated wine selection. The carafe contains enough for two heavy pours. The restaurant was trendy and had a good vibe to it. There was plenty of seating and we walked in and got seated right away. There appears to be event space available for rent. The service was awesome. Everyone was nice and checked in on us multiple times throughout the meal. I'll definitely be coming back here.

They import and sell exclusively Italian wines, and they source their wines directly from farmers who are dedicated to organic farming practices. They also import many wines from young winemakers as well as female winemakers (from regions where female winemakers are not very common). The tasting room is very comfortable and had plenty of seating for people on a Saturday night around 6. You can drop in for shopping (they offer all 50 of their wines in their bottle shop) or to hang out (they offer rotating flights, glasses of wine, and a build your own charcuterie board menu). I was there for the $30 tasting (which is by reservation only), which included five wines and a some snacks (some chips, some cheese, some olives, and some fresh preserves/jam). Bailey, their somm, took such great care of me throughout my tasting. He brought me a map of Italy and described each wine and the winemaker with incredible detail and insight. I enjoyed all of the wines and the snacks! I also left with a few bottles to enjoy later at home! I had a great time at Vine Bar. They're doing something very cool and different from other wine bars, and I'd love to return for another tasting or just to enjoy a glass of wine or two at the bar.

Unfortunately that's where it ends. Service is a 1-star. There seemed to be a language disconnect with the server. An overall near-zero experience. Our server was attentive to other tables seated after us who received their desserts before our entrees. Not one table check-in before, during or after the meal. Had to actually get up out of the seat to make sure the drink order was understood and it was right because the server did not seem to understand. Maybe that put the server off. We also flagged down other servers for assistance during the meal and even for ordering dessert. It took a long time to take payment for our bill. We almost got up to pay at the bar. Thus the crap shoot gamble at La Sponda. Atmosphere a 2.5 star. Loud atmosphere with a heavy metal music rotation. Good music, just not for this dinner atmosphere. Overall a 2.5-star on the strength of the food. We will not be back. Spending the money I did, even though the food is good at La Sponda, I don't want to risk a bad service experience again there. Not worth it for us but might not matter for others. Nevertheless - Caveat Emptor.

Our server was gracious enough to have the temperature increased by a degree or two which was fine. The frisee that came with the quiche was so overdone with salt that it was inedible and you couldn't even taste the lardon bacon. We have not yet been here for dinner but would not recommend brunch as anything special. The service started out ok but then waned a bit once we ordered drinks.
