First of all food here is truly excellent. The sauces are really special; the marsala is fabulous as is the picatta. The good news is the manager who in the past has been fairly unfriendly as people have noted previously seems to be making an effort to smile and be more pleasant. However unfortunately, they do not serve tea, not even a cup of hot water, even if I brought my own teabag, I don't know why this is so difficult. So you can either drink alcohol, a soda, or water. And then as one other reviewer mentioned, if you arrive close to 8 PM, forget it you won't get served in house or be able to order takeout even though they are open till 830. These are the reasons I'm taking away one star for a restaurant that could otherwise be fabulous. It's too bad because again the food is really wonderful. I went in last night and sat at the bar to have a glass of wine while I ordered to go. The bartender with the funky ponytail hair could have cared less that I was there. She was talking to other customers when I arrived so I gave it a few and then she just walked away. Came back and slid over a glass of water for me and left. When she came back, I motioned for her to come over - she saw me and left again. When she came back, I motioned again and she finally came over and acted like she's already asked me 10 times what I wanted. I was annoyed. I ordered a glass of wine and she comes back and says they don't have any wine glasses. I settle for a rocks glass. When my food came she just put it on the bar and turned around. She never acknowledged me, or talked to me and was lacking any type of customer service. I like my routine of going in while I wait for my order and our order at Pho Dang, but I won't go in if she's the bartender. Send her to a class and maybe she'll learn how to deal with customers. read more

Food was great, atmosphere was good but the management running around like everyone was a bother didn't sit right. I understand trying to turn a profit in an ongoing road construction project that lasted for years must put a toll on one's attitude but please take the two minutes out of your day to recognize when a regular is thanking you for inviting them into your establishment for a delicious meal!! We came in with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. I ordered the chicken parmesan and my boyfriend ordered the Bolognese while we ordered the fried ravioli and the cesar salad for the table. While all of the menu items seemed like they would be on any Italian-American restaurant, it was all really good. The only item I wasn't in love with was the fried ravioli, which was a little chewy and plain, but there were so many great standouts, including the cesear salad and the bolognese, which I highly recommend. Not to mention that every dish was absolutely huge and you will be eating this for days. I would also say if you do order a dish, make sure you specify what kind of pasta you want. I ordered the chicken parm and it came with rigatoni, which was okay but I would have much rather have had their bucatini. We are visiting from out of town and my husband decided he wanted to order a pizza. Yelp brought this place up as the closest (even though he passed 2 dominoes on the way to and from‍) He happened to open the box in front of the cashier after he paid. This is what he found (see photo). His question "really?!" Her response "they must not have been able to fit it in the box..." Really?! The pizza was not even cut through. The only piece that was cut was the one that the folded over...IT WAS CUT SO THEY COULD FOLD IT OVER AND MAKE IT DIT IN THE BOX! Really?! It's rare I go out for Italian because I'm always worried I'll be disappointed. A friend suggested we grab Friday night dinner here, so trusting her judgment, I decided to give them a chance and I'm very glad that I did. Their new restaurant is quite cozy. You can see them cooking from pretty much any vantage point, especially from the bar. Our bartender was super friendly and welcoming; he made me a delicious Aperol Spritz. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, which is a favorite that I hadn't had in awhile and my friend got the lasagna. We opted to forgo appetizers for this visit, but appreciated the warm, fresh bread we were offered. The plates were copious; I had a full plate of rigatoni plus three perfectly breaded and fried chicken breasts, all of which was smothered in a slightly spicy tomato sauce and of course, mozzarella cheese. I ended up with two other nights of leftovers from such a generous dish of food (#winning). Her lasagna looked equally good and she said it was delicious. Next time I want an Italian meal I don't have to cook myself, I'll gladly come here. read more

Weve been here several times in the past. The wait server, a male has always been somewhat abrasive. However, tonight we had a large group reservation. An hour before we need to arrive, we called to see if we could add 3 more ppl. The young lady that answered the phone said no problem. We just came from a event at UVM. After i had bragged on the food to the group, the same abrasive guy came to me, in front of the group and said next time you need to add ppl, make sure you get the correct number when you make the reservation. I informed him, we called and the girl stated it was ok. I was so embarrased as to the way he approached me after i had convinced everyone we should eat here. Further, he informs us everything was on one ticket that we couldnt split tickets. NO ONE INFORMED ME OF THIS WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION. AGAIN, how embarrassing. The food is good (lasagna over salted) but we love the food. Disappointed in the lack of communication and how we were treated and things were handled. Thats the reason for the 3 stars. Hoping my next visit will be a better experience. (The 3 ppl we added did not have family here and we wanted to make sure they were included after the ceremony. It was a last minute thing in which I was trying to be supportive). The place wasnt busy and there is construction going on in front of the establishment. Many businesses are struggling in the area. Everything we tried was delicious! We had the meatballs in marsala sauce, lasagna, pasta carbonara, and the chicken marsala spaghetti. The pasta didn't sit heavy after eating way too much. The portions are generous so you will have lunch the next day. All ingredients are fresh. They no longer have calamari because they calamari they were receiving didn't meet their standards. This place is on the smaller side but they have a reasonable dining room as well as takeout. I think they were down a staff member or two as there was only one person waiting on all of the tables, but he was doing a great job, just a bit rushed. I called before leaving a local hotel to see if they had tables available "yes we have a few". I arrived 5 minutes later with 7 people total (2 families). The person up front who answered the phone tells us we can not be seated because we do not have a reservation, she can not seat more than "6" without a reservation although she has 3 tables open. I explain we have 2 different families and are willing to break up into 2 parties/tables. "Ok seat yourself". Manager then follows me out and starts flailing his arms and raising his voice about how we cannot be seated because he has a party of eight coming in soon and he will not be able to serve everyone at once yelling "Do You Understand?" multiple times loudly for everyone eating to hear. I've known for years how delicious Junior's food is and I've done delivery a couple of times with no issue. My husband has Alzheimer's, so even with dine in options, we can't. My order was 15 minutes late and when I called, the woman (turned out an owner) told me to pick-up driver had forgotten my arugula salads. I was so sad - that is a fabulous salad. The owner insisted in giving me a gift certificate for my whole order! When the delivery person arrived, she was rude almost belligerent. It was ALL the restaurant's fault and she had a huge pizza we had not ordered. They gave it to me and I don't give a s--t if you ordered it or not. I made a complaint to Door Dash and will try and avoid them in the future. The next day I called and said I didn't want the gift cert. (restaurants have had a hard enough time) but would like to pick up my salads. When I got there Robert, the other owner, insisted I take the salads and a $50 gift card! I tried to refuse and he wasn't having it. So I'll have a party for my staff and hopefully we'll order a lot more than the $50 read more

Of my last few visits, I found that items on the menu are kind of hit or miss, things like the pizza is okay, not what you'd expect from a premium pizza shop.as far as the red sauce pasta dishes, I that it had a spice in it that was not to my liking, but that might a matter of personal taste.
