I ordered from door dash and the food came quick and hot. I got large cheese enchiladas with verde and a single taco. The taco was great. It had perfect amount of ingredients and not greasy like some are. The enchiladas were good but wasn't a huge fan of the verde sauce as it was sweet. I'd give a 5 out of 10 for it. The rice and beans were normal rice and beans. Would I order again from here yes. Just wouldn't get verde sauce. read more

"ZIT" My wife and I have been eating at La Bodega since the first one opened in Midland . It was many years ago. We ate at the one in Odessa when it first opened and have been there many many times. Usually very good food and good service. We were always seated in the main dining room and for some reason tonight with a lot of empty tables, we were seated in the back room with a wall full of mirrors. Service was OK when we were waiting for a ticket to pay out. I had to get up and go ask the waitress if she could get our ticket because she was busy talking to two other employees. The big issue was it while we were waiting on a ticket two other young girls on the wait staff came over and cleaned up a table next to the mirror wall. As one was cleaning up the table the other one kept looking at herself in the mirror and proceeded to pop a pimple while I'm sitting there watching. I did not tell my wife because I know how she would've reacted. We will definitely go back, but I really hope we don't witness. Someone else popping a "ZIT" in front of their customers. read more

We love La Bodega! Normally!! Today, August 8,2024 was not a good experience I'm sad to say. My husband and I ordered a margarita to go with our lunch. First my husband's was wrong, second they served them in tiny highball glasses, third they were very watered down. So we just ordered a shot of tequila to add to it. No biggie. The shots of tequila were watered down. Still we drank and ate. It happens. I thought I'd address it with the manager when we left. Well that was a mistake. When I requested some understanding on this I was told "It is what it is" followed by a smirk. He never even looked me in the eyes to talk to me. He told my husband "there's no reason to be mad" seriously??? We will not be going back sadly. This has been a lunch spot for us for a while. But no more. Do better!! read more

I was so utterly disappointed with this place. It looked pretty clean when we walked in and the decor was cute and quaint. They serve you chips and Salsa as soon as you sit down - it was pretty good. The gentleman who took our drink orders did not speak a lick of English, which is fine - unless you're taking orders from people who likely won't speak any Spanish. Anyway between my cousin's and my limited Spanish, we ordered our drinks. I had a classic margarita. When I tasted it, it was horrible. It was so syruppy sweet and kind of tasted like kid's cough medicine. I couldn't even try to keep drinking it. I asked them to remake it and was told it was made in a batch and put in some machine that kept mixing it. The next one however was less sweet, so I'm not sure how that happened. Anyway, I ordered the chicken chili relleno. When the plate came, I wasn't sure how to react. It looked like a mess. ZERO plating finesse. The red sauce was very bland which I was so shocked at, seeing as Mexican food is usually very flavorful. Cutting into the batter was just sad. It was so thick and soggy. But the absolute worst part?! The chicken inside the chili. Imagine grilled chicken breast with no seasoning and no color. Yup, that is EXACTLY what was inside that pepper. It wasn't even shredded, just bland like what extreme dieters would eat except a tad dry. I was really hungry so I had just the chicken from deep in there and some of the cheese from the top. We came in around 4:00 and the restaurant only had a few tables taken. The food was subpar and that's being generous. When ordering the server mailkel did not give options for sauces or types of enchiladas so I had to ask what our options were. he spoke so softly to the point that we had to continually ask him to repeat himself. Truth be told it seemed as though he didn't even want to take care of us. We had to ask about our appetizers which came out after our meal and of course we did pay for them and did not complain to the manager. He never came to clear out plates. The only saving grace for the restaurant was the ambience. The food can be a hit or miss, but lately it has been a hit for us. The Alas de Puerco in the sweet chili sauce are tasty. The Beef Chile Relleno with the raisins and pecans are to die for. The enchiladas are spot on. The atmosphere is a family friendly establishment with an enclosed patio in the back and a full bar upstairs with a sports bar feel. We've been in Odessa since last summer and hadn't found a good Mexican place yet. My Dr. recommended LaBodega, so we decided to try it. The salsa is good and spicy, chips were hot and the food was good. Margarita was more than decent and the beer was cold. We'll definitely be back. read more

I would put no stars but I can't. Service was awful to begin with. Cuban kid came and asked us what we wanted to drink and I could barely hear him. I asked for a horchata and he said no I don't have. Then says you want beer, I said no. Just a horrible attitude to begin with. The food was good, we ate it all. We ordered two tres leches to go, so I got up to leave and pay. When I was leaving my friend stayed behind to order a extra tres leches cake. So I went to pay for our order. The total was $86 on receipt, and when he went to charge me it was $96. I asked why and he said it was a service charge. So I said whatever and I paid and waited for my friend. He came out and they were trying to get him to pay the same total I just had paid. The guy was hesitant that he paid until my friend got loud with him and told him I had already paid. So on top of all that the tres leches was trash, I'm not exaggerating one bit. The bread was dry, the frosting was hard and not tasty. Half of the cake is frosting , no lie. The cream was sticky like mucus. We both threw our cakes away. I promise HEB makes a tres leches 100x better. I been here at least 5 or 6 times in the past 3 years, quality has gone down tremendously. read more

Was doing a food delivery for Door Dash. Nobody was at front desk. Called restaurant from cell phone. Lady named Mary came to front desk & proceeded to yell at me. If I were rating the service and atmosphere, I'd probably give this place three stars, but the quality of food is always there and will not let you down. Go here often, order nachos and the beef chile relleno with green sauce instead of red sauce.
