My favorite Mexican food restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious! It is homemade authentic Mexican food. The one thing that stands out to me is the freshness of the food. Everything is cooked fresh... the salad is not wilted or soggy. Did I mention they have fresh squeezed juices! The people make you feel like family. Edgar and Lily (owners) are always present and walking around, talking to guests to make sure everything is up to their high standards. It is not overpriced, so you can take your whole family out for a nice dinner. The staff are friendly and delightful. The restaurant has much of Mexican history displayed on the walls. I just went there for the first time. I went through drive thru and had a total of $18.43 when she brought me the bill to sign. I signed off on the bill and she asked if I wanted a receipt. I responded no thank you and a minute later i get a charge notification from my bank (as I always do with activity) through text stating $22.12 has been charged to my card. I told the employee after she came back by the window. She and another employee told me that its not true because I saw and signed the $18.43 bill myself. I told them I understood that but you can always go back and adjust the payment when going back to add a tip/gratuity. Coincidentally the bottom of the bill stated the percentages of gratuity and 20% of my $18.43 bill was $22.12. So I showed them that and they still told me I was wrong and they don't know how my bank sent me a text stating $22.12 was charged because they didn't do it. I asked for a refund and used another card to charge the$18.43 after I told them I would call the police department because something wasn't right after I realized this place probably has been stealing from customers for a long time now and adding tips in without the customers authorization. Had the tripitas here. I think this spot is the best spot for tripitas here in Odessa, TX. I also love the agua fresca here. Tastes fresh. I also tried the al pastor. I found the al pastor to lack a little bit in flavor. My favorite portion here is the service. I had a very nice waitress and was on top of her game the whole way out. I respected that highly. I visited this place off of yelp reviews. With that being said, I wish I had just stuck to my instinct when I drove up and just kept driving. I can honestly say I eat a whole lot of Mexican food and really enjoy GOOD if any Great Mexican eAting. There were about 2 tables in the place at 7:00 on a Wednesday night; as soon as we walked in the hostess/server greeted us and took us to a booth got our drink order and brought it back super quick. So on that note, they are really quick in this department. The customer service was quick, courteous, and attentive. Now to the complaints... My first is the chips and salsa came to the table cold and even a tad bit of a bad grease taste in the chips. The salsa has some random and very unexpected piece of chicken but in it (gross). Next, the food was good, I had the fajita Gorditas and they were good only the rice had hard crispy bits and the beans were OK. My kid had a kids taco on a store bought taco shell (weird), we are at a supposed authentic Mexican restaurant and they're serving taco shells. So really all this place is, ok. Excellent food! My husband and I had the chili relleno and chicken flauta plates, respectively. Nothing we were served was less than great! The salsa was fresh, spicy, and delicious. We also had the choriqueso as an appetizer. Although it was not as liquid as one would typically expect queso to be, it was very flavorful. Service was quick as well. We were seated right away and our food came out quicker than expected. Restaurant was not as busy as I thought it would be at lunch time, but there was a steady influx of patrons.
