Two order Asado plates and got child's plates of Asado at adult prices. One order shrimp. What she got was scary. A ball sitting on a lot of rice. As she took it apart with her fork, we saw it was a ball of Bacon, uncooked bacon with what looked like shrimp (2 shrimp). Nasty as hell. She sent it back and the owner/manager asked her if she had not read what was in the dish before she ordered it. So they didn't come back to our table until they brought us a small slice of soggy coconut cake for free. When we we went to pay they had already added the tip to the tickets. Some had left cash on the table and some of us added a tip at the register not realizing the tip had already been added. They did not let us know. We noticed it later. One of us showed the cashier a picture of an adult plate of Asado that he had eaten at Aguas. She said if you didn't like it, you should have eaten at Aguas.. Anyway as we were paying, the owner/manager watched us the whole time. She looked angry. We all WILL NOT BE EATING AT LA MARGARITAS AGAIN!! Being Rude as hell won't get you any customers. read more

Typical Mexican restaurant, nothing too fancy but the service was wonderful. Came with the whole family, 9 people, and the level of patience the servers had with us was incredible! The chips and salsa were so good, the chips weren't oily or too salty and the salsa had a nice kick to it. Food tasted as if it was homemade. The star of the show, easily, was the Sopapilla with ice cream! read more

I am a repeat customer and come once a week. After my first experience I enjoyed coming back. This time it was awful. I had a short hair in my food like the length of a natural lash. I informed the staff. Instead of listening they blamed me and said it was mine. I informed them i have curly brown hair so could not be mine. then the other woman stated it could be my eyelash due to my lashes. I informed her it was in fact not. She stated i had a issue yesterday with my michelada due to me literally showing them it was full of salt at the bottom. I looked at my transactions and they totaled to atleast 10. Therefore making it seem as if i am a problematic customer or that i try to get away with not paying for my service was highly offensive and rude. I will no longer be coming back. I once admired the family like atmosphere and the owner is a sweet woman I even have a favorite server. I no longer want to return then to tell me at the door i can no longer return. is even more rude. Mind you this was not my first bad experience but sometimes everyone has their days so yes i returned but will not again! read more

Nice little family type of restaurant. Good food and friendly service too. The beef Tacos Chihuahua were amazing, glad I picked that dish, my wife had a combo plate with enchiladas and a taco which she really enjoyed. We have only one regret, La Margarite is in Texas and we live several states away. We never had to wait on refills, and everybody was playing things safe. I noted how quickly the staff cleaned each table once the customers left, they were taking no chances with our safety and this was comforting. We sat for an hour and a half and didn't even get our food. We finally went up to someone after multiple tables got their food after they were sat after us. They blamed a 20 top table for the whole thing. We pointed out one table that got their food after we were waiting an hour and they said they are not even paying for their food. So we will never be back and unless you want a horrible experience don't go here either. I have to give one star to post but they don't even deserve that! read more

I was in town on business and was recommended La Margarita for dinner. Small hole in the wall place but let me tell you the salsa and guacamole is delicious. I had the La Margarita plate for dinner and was not disappointed, believe me my plate was clean by the time I was done with my meal. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Odessa. read more

Wow!!!!! A quaint and authentic Mexican restaurant minutes off of Interstate 20! The staff was great!!!! And the food portions were over the top - you won't leave hungry! My husband ordered beef fajita nachos - wow! Covered with cheese and jalapeños- and a scoop of delicious guacamole on each end of the plate! I ordered brisket tacos (recommended by waitress) and the plate was so so yummy! And the salsa..... omg definitely made in the kitchen! We brought home enough for supper! Plus the waitress was kind enough to bring a Togo container for the salsa!!!! La Margarita is filled with pictures of locals and write ups from different publications!!!! You MUST stop in - it's only a couple of minutes off I20!!! When we were leaving the owner stopped and talked to us like we had known her for years and this was our first visit!!! I stopped here on the recommendation of the desk clerk at the motel I was staying in. I was a little hesitant after I read the reviews , but decided to try it for myself. I did like the salsa , it has some bite to it. My mouth was warmed up. The chips were too thick for my liking. I ordered a tamale on the side . I wasn't crazy about it. It was mostly masa , and no filling. The tacos I got were good. A little greasy like some have stated in other reviews , but that's the bacon fat , and bacon makes everything better . There was so much meat filling for them , you had to eat part of it before you could close the tacos up. I left very full , but thought the almost $15 for the three tacos was a bit pricey. read more

Hot chips, great salsa, best cheese dip in town. We ALL (6) got our food in 8- minutes. This is after our late guest ordered the chili verde. Delicious food, great service, the place was packed for a Monday lunch. I saw some great looking carne asada, I had the taco salad with chicken. We met the owner, very sweet and cooking too. I added these guys to yelp because surprisingly they were not there.... They have the usual Mexican comfort food, but the big difference here is that I could tell from the flavors and the staff that they make things with love. I ordered one of the mix plates that had Asado de Puerco, Carne Verde, 2 Chiles Rellenos, Rice and Beans. Taste was great! Size of the plate was very big, and everything was just solid. It seems like these guys are very well known locally, but for us outsiders, please give this a try, you won't regret it. I'd definitely come back! read more

I should have left, but didnt, since I was very hungry. I ordered a beef FAJITA chimichanga.... and was told that the 9.59 price DID NOT include any sauce over the chimichanga. Once my meal arrived I was pleased to find no, I repeat, NO FAJITA meat in the deep fried burrito, only some ground beef. After telling waitress of the issue, she informed me that that is the way they serve BEEF FAJITA meat.... Fawk this place and idiots that abound here. This place is why there needs to be a way to do zero stars.... I do not ramble on about most places I eat, but I can't say enough bad about this crap hole. read more

I can only think of one time when I've had worse Mexican food. I ordered the Mexican dinner. The enchilada sauce tasted like gussied up ketchup. The chile relleno was a chile at one point, I think. I ate lunch there today and the tacos chihuahua and an ice tea. The bill before tip was $17.54. The meal consisted of three tacos beans and rice. While it was very good I must say that I don't think three tacos are worth $13.99. That's $4.50 per taco ladies and gentlemen.
