The panini was hot and crispy, stuffed with melted cheese, cured meats, and pickled veggies. While the gnocchi itself was pillowy, the truffle sauce was too buttery and hardly tasted like truffle. I order pizza with sausage, was the worst I had. The tomato sauce was watery had no taste and mozzarella cheese was not authentic. The crust on the pizza was tasteless. To say it is an Italian restaurant is beyond me. This was the first time I visited this establishment and will be the last. As a business owner and traveler, the waiter did not seem friendly and never approached if everything was good. I left a tip above 15% and they did not say thank you. I am so tired of the rude staff at this location. I live local and we frequently order from here, and the staff is just unbelievably rude. In the past, I have waited for pick up orders up to a half hour they weren't ready, had food items missing, poor quality sandwiches, and inconsistent quality of food. Tonight, we experienced another round of horrific we don't care customer service. We ordered delivery through ubereats and when I unpacked the order the side of fries ($6) was a quarter of the way full, cold and literally just burnt small pieces in the box. I called and the rude women just gave me attitude first saying that there was no record of our order, but showed that we ordered yesterday (which we did not) she then went on to tell me that there is nothing that she can do because we ordered through ubereats. Does ubereats make the order? because last time I checked, they are a delivery service. There was no apology, but she did say that Giuseppe would call me back to see if there's anything he can do. How hard is it to refund fries? Also, this happened 45 minutes ago, no phone call and I don't expect there to be. Our sandwiches tonight were also disappointing, felt like left over scraps, My potenza sandwich and the pietro each had just one piece of the eggplant and chicken on it. It's a roll of the dice if you're going to have a good meal BUT you can 100% expect rude, horrible attitude from staff every time if you have a poor situation that you want to fix (this women has done this many times before) Learn how to speak to people, especially costumers. Spectacular restaurant. Went here for a nice dinner with some friends and was blown away. The meal starts off with great bread and individual plates of olive oil, and we kicked things off with a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. We shared a fantastic Margherita pizza as an app. For meals, I had the gnocchi pesto, which was one of the best pesto dishes I've ever had - tons of sauce, super creamy, and the fresh mozzarella added the perfect taste to each bite. Secondly, a tip is not mandatory especially after you charge a delivery fee, sorry but it's not. The order was placed at 11:30 with an estimated delivery of 12:30, an hour seems excessive but alright. No big deal. The order shows up 12:50, cold and with this receipt. Incase you were wondering, it's a 5 minute drive but I'm up here for work and needed to work through lunch. This place is located right in Roslyn, New York. Perfectly placed in the town square. They have off street parking in a lot with a valet even for lunch! Once inside they have one bathroom which is fine because it's a small place. The place gives off a rustic Italian vibe which I really liked. The tables and the wall art were all wonderful. The service on the other hand is another story. It fed like the staff had free reign with no supervision. We went for the lunch special but weren't given the lunch special menu's. Very weird since every other La Bottega does he opposite. We had to ask for it then we finally got it okay...lucky for us we knew about it. Very unlucky for everyone else that was unaware and overpaying. The food is great I had a salad and a panini. I asked for a extra side of dressing since the side they gave us was so small. When I got the bill was was shocked that they charged me $1.75 for a tiny black plastic side of dressing. They take it out of a giant plastic tub probably.... We end up paying the bill and leaving and the valet parked our brand new vehicle so close we couldn't even open the doors to get out. The lunch special along with the food would bring me back but not with that surprise bill and terrible valet parking. Don't have specials and try to make money on a side of dressing without telling the customer your charging them...that's bad business! read more

Ordered a Zola salad that came with sauteed mushrooms but mushrooms came out uncooked. Had no time to ask for a menu to confirm or to wait for another salad to be made. Upon checking the online menu the mushrooms were supposed to be sauteed. It does have a very extensive panini selection if you are particularly into those... I guess my biggest gripe with this restaurant was the service. I felt like our servers had an attitude, and I am someone who is super laid back and does not need my hand to be held by waitstaff or anything. Does this restaurant deserve 5 stars? Yes. Is this a "5 star" restaurant? No. A 5 start restaurant executes the dining experience in a much different way. Think Park Ave NYC. And this is not Park Ave. This is a rustic little spot with Italian pop music playing, a crazy (but awesome) Italian waiter running around, and little flowers and candles on the hardwood tables, real flowers and candles by the way. When you think La Botega think "essential" not "show". That's because everything they do here is essentially what you need and nothing more. This is core Italian dining, the kind of place you take someone you love and the family too. Not the kind of place you take your Porsche on a Friday night to impress the neighbors, and that's a good thing for La Botega. The food here is absolutely perfect. It's real food done correctly. I'm reminded of my grandmother and the summers we spent in her kitchen with her teaching me how to slice garlic and pick eggplant and parsley from her garden. This is not small plates created by an eccentric chef that cost way too much and leave you starving and broke. The prices are easy on the wallet, again the kind of place you take your family or your parents if you haven't seen them for awhile. Loving La Bottega! I was traveling out to Roslyn for the day and was looking for a nice sit-down place to eat with a casual atmosphere. And with good food/prices of course. We were eating a bit later in the afternoon so we hoped we would find a place that was still serving. And voila! We found La Bottega. Very rustic, Italian eatery with hardwood floors and a warm ambiance. We sat down and they bring you fresh bread served with EVOO (as Rachel Ray would say) which was the perfect accompaniment. The menu is pretty large. They have tons of variations on something as simple as the panini. They also had salads, pizza, pasta, desserts, (gelato!), etc. I decided on the Chicken Panini -- Savona. This was grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella, tomato and roasted garlic aioli on ciabatta. It was delicious. The bread was very crunchy and everything was pressed so the cheese just melted in your mouth. I have to say... it's a pretty hearty sandwich so I ended up only eating one half and taking the other home (which I then ate for dinner.) All for $8.75! The service was great and the staff very friendly. I can't wait to come back and explore some more of the menu! read more
