I've been coming to Spuntino since they first opened. Having said that, over the years the food is always delicious. However in recent years, due to the pandemic, like a lot of other establishments that are experiencing the same thing; the quality of the food deteriorates while the prices go up. Only giving 3 stars based off of my order tonight. I ordered their delicious Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Shrimp which I've had before but the shrimp is dryer than a Christmas tree in March and the size is unacceptable. They said the food was there but not picked up -- they'd outsourced it to GrubHub. We were directed to call GrubHub. GrubHub then asked for all kinds of information to include our email for an "investigation" and then told us that the order was for pickup. Okay. Isn't GrubHub a delivery service? My friend picked this place thinking it was related to Spuntino in Westbury. Please note it is not but nevertheless you will not be disappointed. It was a rainy late Saturday evening. The restaurant was pretty empty I'm assuming because of the holiday weekend and the weather. The soccer game and football game were on so we sat at the bar. Their menu is so vast and sounds delish so we struggled to figure out what to get. The bartender, Mary came back multiple times and we hadn't made any progress so we finally asked for her recommendations. To start we got arancini. Big as expected and yummy. For my main I got the salmon oreganata (not on menu but same as the shrimp oreganata) which comes with a white wine garlic scampi sauce and spinach. And choose penne with the same sauce. The entire entree was light and cooked perfectly. This was one of the best meals I've ever had a bar top! We had quick access to drinks plus Mary the bartender was so sweet. Win Win. I ordered the linguini Di Mara fra Diavolo, the restaurants most expensive pasta dish for lunch. The dish was inedible, shrimp were hard as rocks and tasteless. What do you need to do to make shrimp hard like that. The Fra Diavolo sauce was bland and again tasteless. I suspect the entire dish was prepared weeks ago and defrosted and warmed up in a microwave. I ate 1 shrimp and 1 clam and was done. They brought me 2 slices of pizza that were incredibly salty and I just lost all appetite. Every time I go out to eat, I wonder - if I could only ever eat food from one restaurant again in my life, which would I choose? I can never answer that question - but Spuntino might be the first time I ever actually considered giving an answer. The menu is so expansive, and everything was delicious - the bread, the spuntino pizzetta we had as an app (which was basically pizza dough, cheese, and bruschetta), the pesto rosso I had, or the chicken caesar salad my friend had. First time visiting Ordered a slice of Marsala and Buffalo Chicken Pizza each The Marsala Pizza was BAD, it must've been on the display beyond its freshness date because the mushroom and chicken were not only spoiled and slimy but left a bad taste (I eat mushroom and chicken on dough a lot so I know what it's supposed to taste like) and upon breaking the pizza apart for further inspection, the inside of the chicken had a dark color (almost grey ish) The cheese had no cheese like taste (which may be further indicator that it sat there longer than it should've). Thankfully I ate the Buffalo slice first and was not as hangry as I could've been. I'm deeply disappointed, this was not only my first try of the restaurant but my first time in the neighborhood and I was super excited to try the different cuisines. This is our go to restaurant. The food is outstanding. My wife is Sicilian and a great cook and we both think the food is great. The service is exceptional. Kathy and Tara are excellent they can somehow read our minds and are right there to make the experience perfect. The owners are always around. I tried my hardest to just forget about the terrible experience I had at Spuntino's but it's still bothering me. I would have liked to have just delt with the manager but unfortunately it was impossible. I arrived here during the week at 5 o'clock with a party of 15. Unfortunately we were attending my father in laws wake next door and we were In-between sessions. I let the server know that I needed to be back next door at 7 at the latest to greet guests coming to the wake. By 5:15 we were all settled in and ready to order. At around 6:15 I got up to go find our server and asked if the food was coming out soon, she looked like a deer in headlights and it was apparent that the food was never fired, at 6:30 I got up again. It's now been 1 hr and 15 mins with no food at a pizzeria/ restaurant next door to a funeral home with a party room who clearly deals with this a the time. I asked for a manager and one never came. One by one the server started to bring our entrées, it was 6:50 by then and no one was helping her, not even a manager. My husband ran out without eating to get back to the wake and I asked for the check. She brought it to me and never returned! So then got up leaving the rest of my family eating and went to the counter to pay. The guy behind the counter was the only adult working in the place, not sure if was the manager or not but I told him how upset I was as he completely ignored me and ran my credit card. To top off everything he was unable to find a pen and gave me a red magic marker to sign my 600+ dollar check with. Was the food good? Couldn't tell you because I didn't eat, yet I paid for the uneaten food because I didn't have time to find a person to argue with to take it off the check. I returned late to the wake and was so upset and embarrassed. WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone!!! read more

Have had takeout from here many times, the food is excellent, the Caesar Salad as a side dish is huge. They give lots of delicious Italian bread with every entree. Based on our takeout experiences this year we catered in a large order for Christmas Eve and unfortunately we were very disappointed. The food was, as usual, delicious. The trays, however, were not as full as other local caterers, and there was no bread! Other places send complimentary garlic knots or tons of Italian bread with their catering orders. I realize this was probably their first Christmas Eve to cater, so please keep this in mind next time. Otherwise we enjoyed every bite and will continue ordering from here. read more

Spuntino is the greatest new addition to Williston Park! The food, service, and decor was wonderful. I visited on a Monday evening and I was very impressed with their social distancing measures in this COVID-19 era. I was seated very distant from other guests and the waitstaff wore masks and gloves. The food was all 10/10--truly impressed! I tried their capellini cake, a buffalo chicken slice, thai style calamari, Linguini Di Mare and Alla Spuntino. The portions were huge! I also highly recommend trying their watermelon cocktails--I tried their watermelon margarita and watermelon sangria. Both were strong and were made with fresh watermelon. Let me preface my review by saying that their food is very good. We placed two $150+ take out orders within the last month or so. Both experiences were not great and, unfortunately, they lost my business forever. Both times, our orders were incorrect and/or missing items. On top of it, both times we had to wait 40+ minutes despite having placed our orders days in advance. The first pick up, you could immediately see on the server's face that they totally forgot/lost our order and started cooking it upon our arrival. We were hosting people both times and it was terrible to not only have to return home so much later than expected but both orders were wrong and not hot. This restaurant is not well managed, both in the kitchen or up front. No one should be placing an order well in advance and then have to wait 40+ minutes past the pick up time. Shameful because their food is good but the service is beyond sloppy and unprofessional. I definitely will never return and not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This has to be the worst Italian food I have ever had. The veal parm was hard and super salty. The chicken parm was an ok texture but so much salt. The zucchini sticks were hard pieces undercooked inside and soggy on outside. We also got a personal which was also super soggy and undercooked. Spuntino in their other locations Dix Hills and St James have always far exceeded expectations with dinner and catering .. so I was thrilled to see them pop up and take over the old Angelina's earlier this year, close to my work. The food is incredible.. the chicken toscano, chicken primavera, buffalo chicken salad and shrimp monachina are just some of my favorites.. a great spot for lunch, girls night or date night.. delicious!
