They messed up. Went in on a Monday nite and I asked how long a wait for table outside. This is while I asked my husband to wait in car to see. The waiter told me there are two tables available because they just got the check. Grab a table as soon as they get up. I told my hubs to park the car. The table was empty so we sat down. The waitress looked confused as she came to refresh with placemats and silverware. Then another waiter whom I assume was the manager came over and said there were other people waiting for this table and to get up. Shocked and embarrassed we got up for a couple of teenagers.Poorly handled with no class. That waiter should be fired. Not ever going back. They are assholes.. read more

Awful service! I ordered pizza for delivery on Grubhub. I got a confirmation email and expected delivery between 1:10 and 1:40 pm. At 2pm, I called to ask about the pizza, and they put me on hold immediately. I waited 5 minutes, figured they forgot about the call, and called back. I was put on hold again. A woman picked up the phone and I explained the problem; she put me on hold AGAIN. After a couple of minutes, another woman picked up the phone and I had to explain the situation to her also. She said that online orders don't go through sometimes. She took my order again, and said it would go into the oven immediately. Food arrived 45 min. later. Ordered at noon, fed at 2:45. And it was cold and burnt around the edges. read more

Went there for dinner at 630 on a Friday. It was pretty busy and the service was terrible. After placing our order it took the waiter a quite a while just to come back and tell me the item shouldn't have been on the menu to begin with. The drink I ordered tasted flat/unsweetened. I gave 2 stars because I really appreciate when places offer gluten free. However, I think the quality at this place has really declined over the past couple of years. The gluten free penna alla vodka was over cooked and falling apart. While sitting outside it started to rain and they were less than attentive, mentioning we could move the table ourselves if we wanted. Since there wasn't any seating inside and I was tired of waiting for service I brought my food inside to be wrapped up to go. The check was totally wrong and then one of the delivery guys started yelling at the poor girl behind the register telling her how disrespectful she is and trying to fight her.....not really the type of person I'd want showing up at my door. Very reasonably priced; Big portions. Large selection to choose from. Charming, simple ambiance as this was a barn long ago. Definitely a good choice for lunch & takeout. Sunday brunch has a lot of breakfast choices, too to choose from. Nice to dine outside on their porch in spring & summer. Just had a very disappointing sandwich at La Bottega, Roslyn. The Picante, a breaded chicken cutlet panini, has always been my favorite, although their sandwiches were great. Over the years I have seen the quality deteriorate a bit but today I was shocked to notice that instead of a fresh chicken cutlet, some type of pressed chicken patty was used. They increased the price (over $10 for a panini) and still decreased the quality of the ingredients. What a shame. read more

Used to love this place. It's turned into a complete sh*thole. The staff is embarrassing as well as the service. The girl who works at the register and answers the phones is so rude she should actually be embarrassed of herself. At least try to pretend like your care. The staff sits around and eats/watches tv and doesn't pay attention to a single guest. You can hear people at other tables saying how terrible their experience is. Worst part is the manager watches, says nothing, apologizes to no one and enables it all. Staff is running this place into the ground and the owner should really rethink leaving them alone. Got so bad that I would only get their food as takeout but the girl who answered the phone is so miserable to talk to and can't remember your order that they've lost me. Back in NY and had lunch at La Bottega which is now my favorite place for a casual lunch or dinner. Had the white pizza and unlike what I get at my local place, the cheese was real and it was the classic thin style crust I love. Service was good and menu has lots of great choices. read more

The management and service in this location is absolutely horrible. We ordered dinner last night and were told the wait would be 60 minutes. After 90 minutes I called to complain and the MANAGER told me the there was nothing he could do because the time they provide is just an estimate. When I told him I wasn't satisfied with that answer he hung up on me. When the order finally arrived after 1 hour 50 minutes, the delivery person explained that the manager was overwhelmed - really? No excuse for being rude and unprofessional. They eventually refunded my money but I will never deal with this rude staff again. The food isn't worth putting up with poor service. read more

I'm addicted to their panini, which is why I try to only go once every few months or else I'd weigh 300 pounds! They are super consistent, soups, salads, sandwiches all excellent. If you've been to other locations you know the drill. An advantage here is the quaint building and outdoor seating. On the down side, it is VERY popular, so call well ahead for takeout and avoid peak hours if you don't want to wait. That being said, I usually call in my order from the car on the way home from work and it's usually ready. I wish there was more of an organized place to stand and wait, as it seems I always feel in the way, but once I get my panini, it's worth it. I don't make many reviews, but had to for the terrible customer service I received at La Bottega of Roslyn today. I frequent La Bottega Roslyn at least 1x per month to pick up food for local customers of mine. Today, I picked up the order, and when I brought it to my customer, the bag was 1 salad short. We checked the receipt and compared it to the number of items in the bags, and saw the item was paid for, but left out. Mistakes happen... We called the restaurant, told them they forgot a salad, and that I would pick it up. When I went back to the restaurant to pick up the salad, it was ready for me, but the employees behind the counter, a gentleman with an accent and a young lady, tried to charge me for it. I explained to them that they already charged me for it, but they insisted that they may have forgotten a salad, but didn't charge me for it, and insisted I pay if I wanted the salad. After going back and forth for a few minutes, I told them to keep the salad and I would tell my customers to never order from there again. I then walked out. An older gentleman that works there (maybe a delivery man?) heard the conversation. The order was placed at 11:48am and was for $139.04. I left the store shocked because I haven't had an issue in the past, and how I was made to feel at fault for them forgetting a salad. Not only did a salad go to waste, but they lost a customer over a salad. Being in sales myself, and knowing the importance of customer service, the reason for this bad review is not to get anyone in trouble, but to hopefully be a teaching moment in customer service so this doesn't happen again. read more

going to start by saying this place has terrible service after being seated waited 10 mints to order drinks then about 25 to place order we actually thought they forgot about us ok ordered salad receivced wrong salad gave it back to one of the runners and he gave it to watier waiter never acknowleges salad never said anything i ordered a panni for dinner and waiter almost sarted yelling at me cause i didnt no the name of it i told him 3 times i want the one with mozz and tomato i couldnt c the names they were folded so i said dont u no the name its very easy its the first one he says i am ony here 3 months now they have runners walking rather quickly in dining room in circles i waited for 10 mints for bread basket cause he said o i forgot and laughed they walk around in circles staring into space now i am still eating my salad and they start cleaning up plates i gave girl a look and she got it and left 2 mints later she comes back with a pitcher of water and trys to pour it in beer glass it was funny very entertaining btw panni was good but because of the service we wonts be coming back i should of ordered coffee and dessert to c what would of happened get some real help waiter wasnt friendly at all read more

This place was a MESS!! No manager, no one in control. We were six, called ahead and were seated right away...then it took the servers ten minutes to come back to us. We ordered salads, paninis and one pasta dish. It took an hour to get to us. The salads and the paninis sat waiting for the server to get them for more then ten minutes. The paninis were slightly warm. Then she order the pasta which took another 20 minutes. So our friend had to stare at us while we were eating. When the pasta arrived it was over cooked, the meatballs obvious heated in the microwave and some bad jar sauce. The restroom was a clear never cleaned that evening, papers and trash all over the place. When we tried to get someone to help - the staff said there was no manager on premises and they could not do anything put shrug. Looks like Roslyn's La Bottega will go the way of the one in Port Washington and Manhasset..what a shame..their menu and offerings are very nice. read more
