Been to this place a few times, food is consistently good, and it makes sense why this place is consistently packed. From the starting bread, bowl of olives in oil, to the mains and dessert, everything is delicious. A+!

Haven't had good Italian food in a very long time. Alessandro's isn't just good. Everything we ordered was perfect! I have to rave about the bread basket first, the bread was very good my partner and I finished the entire basket before our food even came! They also have olives in their olive oil, how cute is that! The pastas were amazing and definitely homemade and fresh. The chicken parm? Best my partner and I ever had! The calamari tossed in sauce? Amazing as well. We will definitely come back!!!

We were visiting family in Great Neck for the Thanksgiving holiday and they had made dinner reservations at this restaurant for dinner tonight. It was an excellent decision and a great dinner. The menu offers about eight appetizers, six salads, eight homemade pasta dishes, six entrees and a handful of specials. We started with the chopped salad, Caesar salad, and clams. All three dishes were plentiful and tasted great. For entrees we had the tagliatelle funghi pasta, the chicken parmesan, snapper oregenata, veal parmesan and the rigatoni Rocco. The portions were very large and very tasty. We were all too full for dessert but maybe next time. Service was quick and professional.

Always a pleasure having our dinner at our new favorite Italian restaurant. Here are some of the recent dishes we order and we never leave out our octopus salad. The place was packed on a Sunday. The ambience was great energy.. better book your seating in advance if you do decide to come on a weekend dinner

Well, I finally got to try Alessandro's and I have to tell you one of the best Italian dishes I ever put into my mouth try a couple of times for dinner and they were sold out. Reservations are definitely needed, but I got in for lunch, which is probably the best way to get a table at this great restaurant I highly recommend recommended.

It was a great dining experience celebrating my nephew's birthday at the Alessandro's. Restaurant was very clean, huge parking lot at the back of the restaurant, friendly waitstaff and food was fresh and delicious. What a gem in our community, highly recommended

Food Was Very Good... Pasta Is served Al Dente ... I Like Mine A Bit softer so i sent it back and they redid it for me with no issues... Caesar salad was also amazing... good dressing... service is cool... pretty laid back... I'd give the food 5 Stars... Ambience is not for a fancy dinner date ... its more casual family friendly... they have parking out back also! There is stairs to climb... 16 steps to be exact ...

I've heard so many great things about this restaurant. I finally gave it a try and was so happy with each of the dishes we selected. If you're looking for the best cacio e pepe, this is the place! My mom loved her red snapper and can't wait to go back. Service was also great, they were very attentive and never missed a beat.

The most recent time I had dinner at Alessandro's was probably the best... it was difficult to get a reservation but it they still accommodated us at the last minute w/ the stipulation that we had to be finished with the table by a certain time for another reservation, which was fine. My only complaint about the evening is that the hostess was extremely unfriendly- when you work with the public that shouldn't happen. Anyway, onto more positivity! The wait staff was attentive and the owner stopped by once or twice to make sure everything was ok. The renovated decor is contemporary. The food was delicious- our table ordered the eggplant Siciliano and the chopped salad- both so good. For main dishes we ordered chicken parm - the pasta it came with was cooked al dente - perfecto! We also had the black linguine with seafood and fra diavola sauce, as well as the tagliatelle bolognese - both excellent. The pasta is made fresh daily and although the prices aren't cheap, the portions are quite generous and well worth it.

Sandro's has been on my radar for a while so finally we made it there on 4/20/24, and it was such a positive experience. From the parking lot and the back entrance, there is a staircase leading up to the restaurant. They also have an elevator if you'd rather not climb.   Upon arrival we headed to the cozy bar and ordered spicy calamari ($26) and a few cocktails ($18.50 each martini) at the bar. Josh, the bartender, was great. He was friendly and made killer cocktails. The calamari wasn't too spicy, but flavorful and tender. It was a perfect start to the evening.   At the table, we shared 2 pastas, the bolognese ($29) and black linguine with seafood ($45). Both were delicious, but the linguine frutti di mare was the star. It was the best black ink pasta I've had so far. The sauce was packed with flavor, and the seafood was so fresh.    Service on all levels was outstanding. The owner/manager was present, checking in on all guests. Every single member of the staff was friendly, and attentive. Nothing was rushed, our request for splitting each entree was done nicely and they staggered the arrival of each course perfectly. We never felt rushed and were able to fully enjoy our experience.   This was my first time at Sandro's and I cannot wait to go back to try other dishes!  This place is now in my rotation.    Food 5 stars Service 5 stars.. service was fantastic, from the bartender/Josh, servers/Paulino, busboys etc.  Ambience 4 stars.. only drawbacks were that the entry and bathrooms were on the lower level, and the noise level when it's crowded.

Delicious and authentic homemade pastas! Every dish we ordered was really good, I'm amazed. Big call outs were the Polpo (grilled octopus appetizer), Parpadelle Ai Funghi (mushroom pasta), Grilled Branzino, and Pork chop martini. The chef even came out and went around to each table to greet everyone. Lots of parking. FYI It seems they want everyone to go through the back entrance versus the front entrance on the street since they keep locking the front doors.

Sandro's is going strong and still putting out first quality Italian food. Fresh pastas are a well above the local competition as well as the quality fish and meat choices. Tonight I tried something different a On the bone pounded veal cutlet with a spicy vodka sauce and mozzarella with a side of delicious pasta. Our usual Spiedini alla Romana and Calamari were great.

Fortunately, we did arrive early, since over the next hour the restaurant filled up, with quite a few people waiting for a table. The restaurant is unpretentious, with seating fairly close together. Now for the food. Before ordering, the owner stopped by, and told us some of the restaurants history, and him being the longtime owner of over 4 decades. He then recited the evenings specials along with interjecting a couple of very funny stories. Each special sounded incredible, and we began our meal with a couple of glasses of a tasty Montepulciano. We shared, one the evening's special appetizers of luscious & creamy zucchini flowers. For entrees my wife ordered one the specials of shrimp stuffed with lump crab meat, in a lobster sauce. She couldn't stop talking about how fantastic it tasted. My only comment was although outstanding, the portion size consisted of 4 shrimp, which was more than enough for my wife, but someone with a bigger appetite may find the order a bit skimpy. For my entree I was drawn to something, which I rarely see on a menu, chicken livers. Although, I thought, for sure, that was what I would choose, the owner in going over the specials cited some of the best menu items, one of which was lasagna. I then told the owner about my dilemma, and I asked him to choose, and the lasagna won out. Although, I missed not having the chicken livers, I consider myself a lasagna aficionado, and, without question, this lasagna moved up to near the top of the list. We ended the meal by having a homemade chocolate layer cake, which was divine. I apologize for not taking any pictures, but I was so excited about the food that my taste buds overrode any thoughts of snapping photos. Finally, definitely run to this restaurant ASAP, but, if possible, I recommend, if possible, to go during the week to avoid the crowds of an obviously very popular restaurant.

We were there on a Saturday night and it was packed with couples waiting by the bar while we had dinner, so reservations are suggested. There's a coat room, the bathroom was clean, and the four of us were seated near a fake fireplace in the middle of the dining room. They put out a complimentary bread basket (with rolls ... and a bagel!) with butter, plus (tonight) a complimentary little rice ball with tomato sauce (that looked like a meatball). My wife enjoyed their Cosmopolitan cocktail and I equally enjoyed their Montepulciano red wine (sorry I didn't make note of the brand or year). Hers was $22.00 and mine was $17.00. The stracciatella soup was delicious. It was one of five soup choices, all priced between $17.50-$19.50. One of our friends ordered a seafood salad appetizer (calamari, shrimps, scallops, clams) for $27.00, which was large enough for two, so he had the second half boxed to go. His wife ordered the "Charlotte salad" ($19.00) with mushrooms, asparagus & roasted pepper over mixed greens. The ladies both ordered the branzino entree ($49.00 each). I was tempted by the osso bucco special, but didn't feel like spending $72.00, so I ordered the "fettucine alla bocelli," which was a bolognese sauce with chicken and veal (instead of beef ... a nice, lighter variation), topped with a handful of dried ricotta ... for $29.75, which was very good and the leftovers will be part of tomorrow's dinner. My friend ordered the "Rigatoni Stresa," which came with chicken, spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes, for the same price as mine. We also ended with decaf cappuccinos and a dessert platter with four samples, plus mini biscotti. We ate like kings and paid the piper beaucoup bucks. For some, it's everyday fare, but for us it's more for a special occasion, and we hope to return. Food and service was great from start to finish and the ambiance is classy/dressy.

My spouse and I had shrimp cocktails and artichokes hearts to start. We had Bolognese made with chicken and veal as our entrée. The food is freshly made and incredibly excellent.
