The first thing is that he is on the computer watching a video. He tells me to wait while he continues to watch the video. So I wait. I then confirm the price would be what he told me. He then tells me that his price is a different price than what he told me over the phone. I was a bit confused with the owner-he looks serious (kind of intimidating), but he was actually very nice and works well. I took in my car to get the light and break inspection unfortunately it didn't pass, but he didn't charge me until I fixed a light. When I returned he inspected it again and he passed it and then charged me $70.00. This place is now my go-to auto place for any service they offer. I called the day before I came to get an estimate on an oil change and star- certified smog check since my car isn't registered yet. Sam (I think he owns the joint) answered my questions and was courteous to let me know that the guy that does the oil wasn't there that day. I went in the next day and became nervous because it's such a tiny place. If you can't drive, come in slowly or let one of them pull in your car for you. The alley entrance is a bit cramped. I was helped fairly quickly by a sweet man who offered me a cold water bottle. He got to work on my oil change and then I met Sam. He is a bit older and walked around observing everything done to my car; he's very quiet which may come off as impersonal, but he's just about business which I don't mind at all. The people calling him rude and an asshole probably want some bubbly car man that caters to their every need. I just want the shit done to my car to be good and affordable. Besides, Sam isn't mean; just QUIET. I was shocked her remembered talking to me the day before. He honored the $5 dollar off discount that's on their website and my car passed the smog inspection. I was up close and personal during the oil change and saw that it was done very well. I'm definitely coming here for my brakes and will be coming here for my oil changes. The owner checked my car, said the reason I had not passed smog was that the current converter was the wrong one and so wore out faster than normal and gave me a quote for a new one. After a quick check I determined the price was on the low end so decided to do it. He said he could do it right away and 90 minutes later I had a new one installed. They also do smog checks here but are not STAR certified, which my vehicle required, so wasn't able to finish that part there, but no matter. Always good to find a no nonsense repair shop.
