Don't let the lackluster ambiance fool you. This place is somewhat removed from the tourist traps you can find just west of the Uffizi, located on a less traveled road on the east side of the gallery. This was my favorite restaurant in Florence. T bone steak was medium rare and so delicious. I think it's the best in Florence. Prices are exceptional for what you get. The T-Bone steak for 2 was only 50 euros. Staff was very friendly and offered limoncello shots at the end. Definitely a must visit if you are in Florence. read more

Just arrived in Florence and we were both starving, but wanted to make sure we were getting some good Italian food. Stopped in Yelp to see what was good near our apartment and found trattoria Alfredo nearby! Casual restaurant for a quick lunch. The place opens during the day, but closes midday before opening for dinner again. We stopped in at 2 and ordered our dishes. I got the pesto dish as the waiter indicated it was freshly made. Wow. That was one of the best pesto I have ever tasted! Makes me really wish we had Italian dishes like this back in the States! The portion was generous and the price was only 10€. Like many other places in Italy, there is a charge for water per person as an FYI. You do not get tap water for free like you do in the United States. The restaurant we wanted to try nearby was closed, so my parents and I found ourselves at Trattoria Alfredo. The highlight was the burrata caprese, which was extremely flavorful and delicious. Everything else was unimpressive. My ricotta ravioli was bland and didn't taste very fresh. The tiramisu was horrendous, maybe the worst I've had in my life. The place is small, warm, and rather cozy, although tables are a little to close to each other. Food is good, menu is decently wide, staff is efficient but not particularly friendly. Must've been a tough week. In general, our Caprese Salad was very good and our Lasagna was just ok, desserts were pretty average too. Steak looked amazing, although we only enviously saw it as it was taken to another table. In conclusion, this is a good place to have a decent meal after a long visit at the Uffizi. read more

We went here for an early dinner. Three tables had people and it took forever to be waited on. Server not friendly and our meal took another 20 after ordering. Clams with spaghetti-more than half were empty shell and no clams in the pasta and no flavor to speak of. Many other good places in the area to dine. read more

This place is awesome! Prices are extremely reasonable and the food was very good. We were waited on by a server and checked upon very frequently by someone who seemed to be a manager/owner. We started with the bruschetta, and for my main course I had the veal scallopine and my wife had a ham pasta of some kind. Both of us were extremely satisfied with our meals, in terms of both flavor and portions. At the end of our meal, the manager/owner gifted us with both a free tiramisu and a free magnet. This was extremely kind of him, and he did so because he knew we were celebrating our honeymoon. He was very warm and kind; very refreshing, and very different from the service we received elsewhere in Italy. We would highly recommend this place to anybody visiting Florence! read more

Nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. The staff were welcoming and kind, they asked about where we were from and helped us with the menu.some of them spoke little English but enough for us to order our food with no problems. We ordered the crostini mix (the one with the pate' was fantastic). We also ordered caprese salad which also was delicious. Our entrees were risotto with mushroom and spaghetti carbonara. Again both plates were excellent. The risotto I ordered seemed under seasoned, but I think I may have just gotten a bad bite. By the end I thought it was about the best I had ever had. Dessert portion was very generous and the tiramisu was good, nothing special but I definitely was satisfied. At the end our server insisted that we try some lemoncello and gave it to us no charge. At the end we shook hands, by that point it felt like a family dinner! This entire staff was amazing and the food was delicious. I am very picky about where I eat when I travel, and when I return to Florence I will absolutely come back to his place. read more

We were walking past Trattoria Alfredo, to our dinner destination, and stopped to look at the Menu that was posted outside. As we were walking a way, a couple and their daughter (from ny) were walking out, and started talking to us saying they just had a great meal, it was so good, and they were so nice, etc (maybe they did have a bit of wine lol) .... Anyways, tired from walking, and seeing their prices were pretty reasonable compared to a lot of other places in this touristy area... we decided to take their word for it. Another tourist trap, we were sat in the front part were it was cramped and noisy, when there was a back spacious room. I hate when restaurant owners do that! The food was small portions and the price were high. Tourist trap is the only way to describe this disappointment.
