Ok, so this place is hard to review. Great Food - Bad Service. We were going to a taco place in a converted bus, but it had been shut down so we saw this next to it and decided to give it a shot. First, the door is on the side and unless you know where it is you feel a little silly looking for it. Then when you walk in it says "seat yourself" but the tables are in several rooms so you are meandering around looking for a table. The servers whisking by you aren't very helpful at all. We finally set at a 6 top in the corner next to the very loud speaker... they really need a hostess. We then waited for what seemed like forever before a waitress or waiter even acknowledged us. If there were a ton of restaurant options in the area I may have walked. When she finally did come she was kind and was also considerate enough to cut the speaker down for us. We ordered our food - Jack a steak burrito and Mama and I both got the house fajitas. The fajitas were huge and we really should have split one, but oh my they were good. The food was some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while. The chips and salsa not so much and they don't have cheese dip, but the entree was out of this world. So go if you have plenty of time and don't care about the chips - the food is amazing, they just need alot more staff to make you actually feel welcome and to not be there FOREVER. read more

I would rather drive to Jackson, Afton, or even Idaho Falls before I EVER give this place another dime. I got there and asked for extra tortillas for my fajitas. $2. Okay. They bring my order and I ask where the chips and salsa were. The guy says, "That is an extra $2.". Never eating here again. Vacationed in the area for a few days. Dining options in Alpine/Irwin are very very limited, but we were very pleased with La Cabana del Tequila. Great implementation of authentic Mexican food. The salsa verde that came with the chips was delicious. Street tacos were overstuffed with meat. I had the red sauce enchilada and sauce was nice and spicy(they did warn about the red being spicy). My wife had the green sauce enchilada and that was delicious also. read more

The food was surprisingly good. Presentation of the food was excellent. I originally didn't expect to give 4 star review because the gentlemen that served us wasn't particularly very nice. He didn't say anything bad or his service wasn't bad. It was just the way of speaking and the personality that made him look like he was being rude. First off, I'm from Los Angeles so my taste buds are acclimated to really good Mexican food. This place is just ok and in some ways kinda bizarre. The chips and salsa: flour tortilla chips and green sweet thickened salsa!? We ordered pico de Gallo: it came as just tomatoes, onions cilantro and jalapeño, no salt no lemon juice. One star for the horribly rude staff. Took 20 mins to get our drinks ordered which I thought ok, it's covid, no biggie but then it got worse. Some stuff we ordered was good but my dads steak was super burnt up and the kids food was over cooked and dry. The main issue was the service was horrible and the waiter was downright rude. Apparently the main problem was we either look "too white" to get good service or that a woman ordered in Spanish and paid for the bill. We live in a Hispanic community in Texas, my kids are in a dual Lang program and I speak Spanish fluently with no accent. I learned Spanish as a child but I look white. So like we do at all our fav Mexican restaurants in Texas I ordered in Spanish and the waiter kept responding in English and then refused to check on our table and would not acknowledge my father and then came to the table to barely take our order and ran off before I could put in the kids order because they were hungry and I wanted to order theirs first but I couldn't because the waiter literally turned around mid sentence to walk off. Then, mid meal, two clearly Hispanic looking men came in and sat at the table near us, and suddenly our waiter was extremely friendly to them and spoke the entire time in Spanish to them, brought them a special drink he made and made menu recommendations because they said they were from out of town and gave them great service, made conversation, while we continued to be ignored for most of the meal until it was time to pay. I hate writing bad reviews and try to give people benefit of the doubt but clearly something was going on and kept walking buy not taking our order or checking on us while checking on the only other table. we tried hard to be friendly and polite for an hour but eventually just gave up. On our way back from Yellowstone and Teton we stayed in Alpine and had dinner at this restaurant. What a great place!!! Cute, cozy, great friendly staff!!!! The food was delicious!!!! Serving sizes were large. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, chicken burrito and my son ordered the street tacos( steak and churizo) . The burrito was average ( dry and the rice was served on the side- never seen that before) but the other items were YUMMY!!! Do not miss this place!!! Love love love!
