"I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in And stops my mind from wandering Where it will go" (Lennon and McCartney) Since Big Hole BBQ was so close to our motel, quite a few of our tour companions had dinner here, including us. It's a very casual restaurant and bar with your conventional bar food (nachos, mac and cheese, onion rings), salads, tacos, burgers, BBQ, and sandwiches. As soon as we sat down, some of our tour buddies passed us their basket of fried pickle chips because the portion was so big it overpowered them. I have to say, those pickles were fantastic-super crunchy and delicious. We ordered two mini BBQ tacos, one chicken and one pulled pork, with BBQ sauce, slaw and pico. At a rock bottom price of $5 each, these large "minis" were a stel and very tasty. I went with a rarely seen 1/3 rack of ribs with a choice of one side for $14. I chose cole slaw. The ribs were incredible and cooked perfectly. I know that "the meat slid off the bone" has become a cliché, but guess what, when I picked up the first one... yes... the meat literally fell off the bone into my plate. The four meaty ribs were great. For under $26 we ate like royalty.

The food really good. The meats came out with no sauce. This was great because it allowed us to put the right amount of bbq sauce and choose which flavor sauce we liked the best. The pulled pork was delicous! The ribs were so smoky and good. Highly recommend stopping here. Service was just ok. It seems the bartenders are the servers as well so for them to find the right balance between dining and bar was a little rough.

Great BBQ with Local Brews and a Chill Vibe. Stumbled upon this BBQ spot and it did not disappoint. The food was flavorful --classic BBQ . What really stood out was the solid selection of local beers. The vibe was lowkey and fun, just a great place to kick back and enjoy some good food. Would absolutely come back!

To say the Burnt Ends were good is a sad excuse of the English language. More powerful adjectives define the succulent and savory taste that comes when a dry rub meets aged beef. This organic experience awakens the mouth and sends you onto a one way trip to bliss. I did share a recipe idea which was to offer the brisket with the dry rub onto the brisket and load into the loaded fries. Remember you should name them "Sith Fries"

Food was absolutely amazing, the service was great! Recommend to anyone in this area! Got the combo platter for two and it was perfect!

Pulled pork and brisket sandwich Delicious, fresh, and tender. Bbq sauce to add to it is perfectly sweet. Our 9 year old got regular tenders and fries and said they were his favorite tenders. Service is friendly from the moment you walk in. If in need of bbq, definitely make this a stop. We went for lunch and sat inside for the air conditioning and had a great view of the mountain.

Nice seating outside which is paramount as we had a dog! The place was busy inside and later on passing noticed the outdoor tables were all full. The food was good, the two melts were more than the girls could eat and were consumed later around the campfire. The brisket was consumed on the spot! Waiter was attentive, never went inside but did not get a good vibe for draft craft beers. Had a local, but not much choice. I would go back noting the town is a tourist trap so all food is pricey for anyone on a budget.

Don't feed the bears pork, brisket, ribs, or chicken. Fish is ok though. Lol.

Service was decent. Maybe 5 tables occupied including outside. We arrived after prime time. The food was good but not sure of the smoke. My posted pic of the rib gives me the impression this may be slow baked and seared on the grill - same as the chicken. We enjoyed the sides of onion rings and slaw. Again, the food was good but since we were passing through, it was convenient as well.

Went here twice it was so nice! We had the burnt ends, ribs and brisket sandwiches. The ribs were the very best we have ever had ANYWHERE! All were excellent. Very friendly staff. Place is nice and clean. Good drinks too!

The guacamole was very good and I recommend it. The salsa was unmemorable, tasting more of canned diced tomatoes, and my personal preference would have been for roasted tomatoes and onions and garlic, with salt, vinegar and chiles. The tortilla soup was heavily cumin so if you don't like cumin, this is not for you. The recipe they have chosen is for more of a chicken tortilla mush. But it is not unlike others I have had. Ambiance is nice. Everyone super friendly. Great wall decor. I suspect that the recipes they have chosen are designed for clientele from all over but I would say, "Give your chefs an opportunity to offer something off menu as a special option". Some cookbooks to get ideas from are shown in photos.

I thought shoulder season meant milder temperatures, I was wrong. Half the restaurants here are on hiatus during the winter and spring. The pickens are slim and it took us three tries to find a lunch spot today. Merry Piglets Mexican Grill was not on the list but here we are, hungry. The staff was helpful and quickly seated us. The chips and salsa were tasty and quickly consumed. We placed an order of queso and more chips. The queso sauce was thin and lacked any spice. Three tacos: shrimp, el pastor and carne asada with beans and rice were also ordered. The meats and shrimp were good but scant. The tacos were not much more than meat and some onions. I was not left wanting more or satisfied with our selections. Merry Piglets Mexican Grill fills a need in the beautiful town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Of the many Mexican restaurants here, I don't feel the need to recommend or return here. I wish them well and can tell that the locals feel at home at MPMG.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)

Me and one of the other hiking Baddies came in wanting something a little more quiet and low-key after such a long day. We shared the buffalo cauliflower appetizer and the Philly cheesesteak with fries, and honestly it hit the spot perfectly -- hearty, rich, and comforting after hiking. I also ordered the huckleberry mocktail and the waiter was able to add a shot of vodka for me, which made for the perfect relaxing little buzz. My friend ordered an IPA that she really enjoyed too. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and cozy. They do have balcony seating overlooking the small town, which looked really cute and I can totally see why people love sitting out there. The only thing is smaller groups may have to share tables with strangers, which just wasn't our vibe after such a long day, so we stayed inside at one of the round tables instead. Still had a nice view near the doors and a much more relaxed, intimate conversation. Overall, such a great little stop to unwind after hiking!
