Food is good but you never know when they're going to be open. Should have a schedule and stick to it.

Some of their concepts do not make sense. For starters they stuff the burrito to much and then everything runs out. Their chicken is so runny it quickly makes the tortilla soggy i think they need to use a different chicken recipe, their super burrito automatically comes wet ... wet burritos should be an option of course but a super burrito should be something you can unwrap and eat easily with your hands. Pros. They have some really yummy options if you know what you like and what to add on. For me their beans are the best just yummy smooth creamy beans so good. I like to get a vegetarian super burrito with those beans. My partner likes the California burrito however it is too dry for me. read more

Stopped here for lunch to try something new. I ordered the Pastor Burrito and my husband had the Cheese Enchilada/Beef Taco combo plate. The establishment is clean and the service and food orders were super prompt. And while the rice was a highlight (I'm a rice snob since most Mexican restaurants don't make it like my grandma used to) and was very flavorful, the rest of the food left something to be desired. While Pastor is usually very flavorful and explodes in your mouth, this Pastor tasted as though if we're pulled pork marinated after it had already been cooked. It had high pineapple flavor which threw off the usual rich balance of Pastor flavor. It was filling, but I was disappointed. My husband felt the same about his plate as well. He enjoyed the cheese enchilada but the beef lacked the flavor and spice you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. So while this might satisfy some novice palettes, it didn't have the same pizazz I was hoping for... 3 stars all around. Convenient place to stop if you're on that side of town shopping. read more

Went in to have lunch yesterday, was finally opened surprisingly. I've been doing construction in the area and the place is always closed. I've made several attempts to try out this restaurant this last month and I was really excited it was actually opened for once. Walked in around noon. Was greeted and given a menu with salsa and chips. Everyone else that walked in after us got there orders taken right away. They stuck us in corner and forgot about us. We even put down our Menu's so they might get the hint, but no luck. Lady stood at cash register just looking out towards the parking lot. We decided to leave after 35 mins and go eat at the round table next door. I guess I wasn't a rich local farmer, no red carpet treatment for me. One won't be going back.... read more

It's been a little while since the last time I was here. Tonight, it was too late to cook dinner at home and I was lazy anyway. I ordered the big Super Burrito for $10.75, I think. They brought me this monster that was almost bigger than the plate. I ordered Carnitas in the burrito. I have to say that I was a little disappointed that I didn't get sides of rice and beans until I cut into this thing. The rice, beans, vegetable garnish, and everything were inside. It was a wet burrito. A red sauce that was pretty good. It was really good! I could not eat more than half of this burrito! That's never happened to me! I'm usually a glutton. My wife ordered two crispy tacos and was very happy. The Salsa and chips were a little disappointing, but I'm not going to take off a star. In any event, the Salsa was watery and needed something. I can't quite put my finger on it. Oh yeah, it needed Flavor! The service was how I remember it. Very good to excellent. Worth a 20% tip for sure. I will come back! Just thought I would give it another try after a bad experience a couple years ago. How can you mess up a cheese quesadilla ? Advertised it comes with sour cream and quac. Only a small amount of sour cream. Lady argued that quac was in sour cream. Come on! Only customer in there and the quesadilla was soggy. Chips were stale. Never again! Oh, and the corona light was $5.80! Never, ever again. How is this place still open? read more

How are employees supposed to wash hands when does soap is completely out in the bathroom? Not cool. Lengua tacos were really good though and seems like homemade tortillas maybe, very soft corn. Prices and food is awesome! Their carne asada has THE BEST FLAVOR!! I have yet to find out how they marinate the meat (probably never will)! It's so perfect and mouthwatering. This is one of my favorite places to eat while in colusa for two reasons. The food is fantastic, their rice and beans are the best from any Mexican restaurant I've had, and I usually pair that with small chicken tacos. The food at La Cabana is authentic Mexican food. The prices are a bit high depending on what you get, but the portions match the price. I've only had the enchiladas and beans plate. My co worker loves the shredded chicken quesadilla. Loaded with meat and cheese. Next, I'm going to try the carne asada tacos.
