Okay, so full disclosure I am totally addicted to their gochujang chicken in any form - whether it's in a wrap or a salad - that chicken is literally some of the best I've ever had. This place is so cool. Right on the Sacramento River just (literally) a couple minutes outside of downtown Colusa and the vibe is rustic casual. They even have some nice patio and deck space that sits just off the river for nice water views and space for live music, which is always amazing. The service is usually lovely and attentive and the gals who serve there are accomodating and kind. Try the green bean fries - the sauce is bomb and these crowd-pleasers are always crispy and served hot! Burgers are delicious (try the Texas Toothpick burger), too! Nice selection of beer and cocktails too (straight tequila for me) - so yes, they have a FULL BAR! Out cruising the backroads on my bike and stopped in for lunch Been here a few times, but never tried the menu. Ordered a French dip Nicks way, which added onion rings and provolone. Had kettle chips for my side and pint of Farmer's Valle. The sandwich came so quick I made a bad pun about fast food. It was tender, hot, and quite tasty, on a warm soft bun. The beef was very thinly sliced and plentiful, seasoned perfectly. The chips were fresh and crispy. I requested horseradish and they gave me raw. It just made the sandwich taste even better! We go to Colusa early before the fair opened and were on the hunt for a place to eat. We ended up at Slough House Social, and the place was busy! Because it was so hot outside, we skipped the riverside patio and opted to sit inside.They were clearly a bit short-staffed with only one server working, but she was awesome. We ordered a bunch of stuff to share, including the buffalo wings, artichoke dip, and pretzels. Everything came out tasting great. Visited January 19th..see my receipt as always. I came in here for lunch after a long drive. I find being on the water very relaxing! I ordered the steak bites ( my fav) that comes with seasoned bread and chimichurri. Steak had good flavor and I love the mushrooms and their chimichurri! I also got the pub pretzels ( two pretzels) that comes with their beer cheese. TIP: Ask them to undercook them so when you reheat the pretzels they are not rock hard! Plus they taste better! it's everything you want in a waterside roadhouse restaurant (with a full bar)... awesome river view from the outdoor patio AND from indoors (thanks floor-to-ceiling windows). terrific service and even better food. my family and our rice farming neighbors stopped in today after hitting the Colusa Farm Show for some lunch. El Jefe, Knuckle Buster, Fish 'n' Chips (not pictured) and Beef Dip... I don't like any sweet potato fries in general but everyone else did, and they are criss-cut! Came in about 6:30 pm not many people in the restaurant. Drink order didn't take long but after that not good. Placed our order for food at 6:40 pm didn't get our food until 7:30 pm and all of the food was cold. I don't think this is the cook staffs fault, when you cook a dish and put it out for pick up it's probably hot at that time. Just saying. When we first walked in my daughter, saw the sweet potato fries on a dish and they looked delicious. When she got hers, they were all burnt and cold. The food is absolutely amazing, at this point I'd say you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The inside has more of a bar atmosphere, which isn't really my vibe, but that's just personal preference and not something I'd hold against them. Service was NOT good. We spent close to $300.00 and it was like pulling teeth to get someone to come over. We had to go get our silverware and more. Its okay food. Not impressive. 7-26-25 Was a long day traveling and it was getting late in the afternoon/ evening. We called ahead to check closing time and the young lady said 8:00 pm . But she also asked how far out are you guys? We said we could be there by 7:45 and her response was bring it on we will take care of you and we said we also have dogs and she said bring them also. Now we been coming here for years on and off and have never had a bad experience, and last night was no exception. We were greeted with smiles and the dogs got petted, the service was over the top the food was fantastic ( Broken Knuckle Sandwich) . Great experience, service location and food all very good. Came on a Weds in late Oct. around noon. Moly lightly busy but they have the seating room for lots of folks. Large main seating room with beverage dispenser and a great selection of hot sauces - love that. Long table inside facing the river and four outside tables for four right above the dock and river. Located across from a nice looking tv park, so they have parking for rv's though it's limited. Lots of parking along the front, with some spaces facing the road reserved for the restaurant. I can imagine summer weekends busy at the dock so parking could be harder then. You order at the counter, get your drink, seat yourself and they bring it out to you. Good place for getting food to go to have a picnic or eat in the rv. Totally accessible for a wheelchair with the restroom on the same level as the entrance, and a slope into the main dining area and the balcony door Beverage bar has a variety of sodas plus a big iced tea dispenser. Sweeteners and the hot sauce cart are nearby. There is a bar with drinks available and seats that look at the river. Started with decadent Mac and cheese poppers that came with ranch jalapeño dip. Freshly made, crispy and a generous portion. Followed with the French dip. Great bread, good amount of beef and tasty onions. The au jus was hot and very tasty. I went for the crispy fries and they were cooked well and tasty. Again a generous portion. Everything was served in recyclable containers except the au jus. We were a group of 24 and though they don't take reservations they were kind enough to pre set tables up for us as we were celebrating my Uncles 100th birthday the following day. The location is great with a wonderful view. The servers worked really hard to get everything out to us in a timely manner. They did great especially since out of 24 there was probably 7 or 8 separate checks so they had to keep that straight. The food was just okay. My brother and I split the French dip and it was great except the onion rings that came on the sandwich were way over cooked and I heard from others their sides of onion rings were the same. We got a side of fry's and had wished we had know to get their homemade potato chips instead as they looked delicious. I heard several people say their items were over cooked also. This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I have eaten here and I do think it was better before. But we had a great time being together and appreciate the accommodation they made for our big group. read more

We wanted to try somewhere outside of Davis and Sacramento. I found this place on Yelp and my husband and I stopped yesterday for lunch. We sat outside under a huge tree that provided great shade. The staff were super friendly. Our waitress was very sweet, wiped the table for us, recommended the steak bites with shrimp to start. The Paloma was delicious. The steak bites were amazing, I liked them better than the steak bites from the Buckhorn. My husband had the papas verdes, he said the carnitas were really good. I ordered the fish and chips but opted for sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious, we will definitely make the hour drive again. The atmosphere was so calming, the people very friendly. Other guest were very talkative as well. The waitress was quick, food came out at a decent time. By the time we finished the appetizer, our entrees followed. I liked how they timed it just right. Normally you don't get to enjoy the appetizer before you already have your entree. Also a dog friendly place, we met Mikey, cute little pup a nice gentleman brought to the outdoor seating. This is a hidden gem for Colusa County with a view of the river, plenty of seating and a large menu. Service was slow, we had to ask for napkins at least three times, finally I went to the bar and grabbed some myself. But the food was really good, ambiance five out of five stars! My sister ordered the broken knuckle and my mom and I shared the tri-tip french dip. Wasn't blown away by the french dip, but the broken knuckle was unique and very tasty. First of all this is a great place, although a bit out of the way, that's well worth dining at. The menu is varied and full of wonderful surprises! On our visit I had the Texas Toothpick Burger! It's an angus patty with battered onions, beer cheese and thick bacon. Oh my, it was wonderful with some very good flavor. My wife had the Broken Knuckle. It's made up of grilled Naan bread with diced brisket, carnitas, onion hash, jalapeños and melted cheese. Both meals have a choice of crispy fries or sweet potato fries. The one thing we didn't get was the Churro Funnel Fries. My wife is sensitive to sugar after lunchtime (it keeps her up) so we'll have to get those next time! read more

My husband and I visit this restaurant almost weekly. We've grown to love the staff and the environment and always have a great time. My husband just retired after 30 years in law enforcement and we decided to host his retirement party here. It was AMAZING! Everyone raved about how great the food was and said the service was top notch! I got several text massages the day after the event with everyone saying what a wonderful time they had. The staff handled everything. We didn't have to do a thing other than show up and enjoy our friends! I couldn't t have asked for a better location or people to help with this. Such a hidden gem. We drove from Plumas lake, Slough House Social was recommended on a local Facebook page & claimed to be worth the drive... it was! The first thing that caught our attention was the riverfront. We went at night, and you can still see the river passed their stunning tree in the outdoor dining space. It was a quiet Wednesday night, no live music, and this place still brought in a lively crowd, offered great food and service. I can only imagine how energetic and fun this spot is on a summer weekend night. Worth the trek & the pricing is competitive! & We will be back to try the entire dessert menu next time! What a find! My dad grew up in this area many moons ago and we were in the area last Friday buring my grandparents in the family plot in Meridian. Afterwards we went in search of food to a restaurant Google highly recommended and we figured out why quickly. While my mother worried that the menu was "too fancy" we assured her we were dressed for the occasion (in fact we may have been too dressed). We were greeted quickly and friendly and they realized we were newbies and they offered to explain how it all works. You order at the counter and then find your seat (something we're used to in Kenai, Alaska as several of our popular haunts do the same). We found our table (IN AIR CONDITIONING, how do you all survive in those temps anyway?!) and family dispersed to get utensils, drinks, etc. The food came out quickly and freshly prepared. My dad tried the Papas Verde poutine, I ordered the Shoyu Chicken bowl, and my mom and aunt both got the bacon cobb salad and added chicken. My mother is gluten intolerant so they gave her the option of grilled chicken instead of breaded and it worked out perfectly. After stealing a bite of dad's fries (because he was too busy making friends with the bartender - even though he never ordered a beverage lol) I had to order a side of fries for the table because they were some of the best fries I have had in a very long time. The were so crisp! just like you want in a good french fry. We're already planning a return visit the next time we are in the area. I've not stopped thinking about my grilled broccolini!
