I have eaten here a few times and it is pretty typical Tex-Mex fare. The chips are hot, fresh and come with a salsa that is pretty tame, a tad too thin. The staff has an eye on your table and are quick with refills....my big pet peve....so I was really impressed with the quickness. The food is good and pretty standard for Tex-Mex. I just had dinner here and the food really sucked the waitress sucked it was a very weird atmosphere with no customers!!! Been going to La Cabana Mexican Restaurant for a few years now. It started out as being some pretty darn good mexican food, like their Stuffed Avacado...a few years ago that is. It has been going slowly down hill ever since. Lately, the last six months or so, it has gone further down that hill and I don't see it getting back up. Their Chips and Salsa; at times are really good but at times their chips seem stale and it seems that every time you come in here you do not know what kind of salsa it is going to be...a lot of the times they are really watered down and at others it is so hot that you can't eat it. The only thing they have going for them is their Borracho Bean Soup...that seems to be good every time but you find stuff in there that wasn't in there the last time you had it...but is is good. Their Margaritas are really good, but their Happy Hour prices are way, way toooooo high...the small Frozen Margarita is now $3.99 and it is small.....again people, that is their Happy Hour prices. Ordering anything on the menu is a chance you take with this place. You never know how bad, or burnt, or skimpy the portions are going to be. We were going here on a regular basis and found ourselves finding less and less items to order from their menu that might be good and finding too many items that just were not good and would not order again. Their Fajitas for One was enough for two adults to enjoy, lots of meat and 5 tortillas. Now their Fajitas for One come with about 8 strips of meat and 3 flour totillas and loaded with fried onions to make it look like your getting a lot of food...but you're not. So, we stopped going here all together. There are a lot more nicer places with much better meals to eat and drinks to drink that do not cost anywhere near the amount this place charges. The Waiter/Waitress Staff here are always on top of things, but management apparently cut staff to save some money and we just don't see that many around and our Waiter / Waitress is now covering more than half the restaurant, whereas before they were in our immediate area...and like I said, on top of everything, filling our chip baskets, salsa bowls, water glasses and providing extra napkins. Now they don't and you have to ask again and again for any of these things. This is not Staffs fault, it's a management decision...maybe even all the way up to the owner. Who's ever it is, they are loosing customers. When you consider all of this and reading others reviews on-line about finding cockroaches in ones drink, in the chip basket or crawling out from under the chip basket and crawling up the walls..it now becomes a no brainer. I recently spoke with someone that said the ground beef in the taco was spoiled or was not meat...they tossed it out. We're not going here anymore...enough is enough. But their Margaritas are really good, just pricy. read more

This place has relatively quick lunch service. The chips were warm and nicely salty, but the salsa was a bit too watery for my tastes. I ordered the pollo loco which was moist and yummy, and the tortillas looked to be homemade. Other people have said the tortillas are a bit stale and somewhat thick, but it was an interesting change. The guac that was served with the chicken had 0 flavor, however. I'm a huge guac fan and was totally let down. I'd come back again! read more

I love this place. It's a casual place with some things rather average and unexceptional and others to die for. Their barracho bean soup is great! Same for their fajitas. They have red and green salsa, you sometimes have to ask for the green. Both are okay. Best margaritas around and they don't skimp on the tequila so be careful if you're driving. Their jumbo will get ya buzzed. Overall it's a great place with a friendly saff and very good food at a very good value. read more

My waitress was so horrible. She completely ignored us for 15 min. Then she had an attitude with us. I had the Mexican Enchiladas, and was disappointed. My girl had the fajitas and was pleased, but I'm almost certain they spit in our food. We didn't do anything wrong. Why would they treat us so badly?!?! Food was not that good. Salsa was very bland. I asked for a drink refill and the waitress totally ignored me, I had to get up and get it myslef. When we asked for our ticket she ignored us as well. I had to ask another waitress who told us that we had to pay up front. But no one was there. Overall wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

Went there for lunch because they looked popular. Got there they brought me a bowl of soup and chips? Found out that was salsa warmed up to boiling. They took my order 10 minutes later and 20 minutes later brought me a plate with lettuce and tomato and a upside down tortilla bowl with a puddle of watery cheese below. Then left. 5 minutes later someone asked how everything was, said no food! He laughed and left. 5 minutes after that my food showed up. Small portions more watery cheese and plain rice. Best part was beans which ain't saying much. Don't go there if you have short time to eat, unless you really want to experience heartburn. read more

This is a amazing place to try out. The food is really good and it doesn't take a lot of time for the food to come.I went and ordered quesadillas and it tasted amazing.The waitress are nice and really pay attention. The only problem I had is that there is not a lot of things in the menu there are only 20 or shorter items. read more

Usually the service here is exceptional. Today the server my family and I had was extremely rude. He would walk away from the table while we were still trying to finish our sentence for our order. I've never had a server walk away from me during mid sentence. The lack of respect this server showed was unacceptable. When he brought out our food the order was incorrect. Instead of apologizing he then stood there and argued with my mother about the difference between ground beef and beef fajita, even though she ordered the correct thing which was "ground beef". I informed the manager of the rude service and incorrect order and still no apology. My family and friends are regulars here at this establishment, but after this terrible experience we may be taking our business elsewhere. read more

This place is where I go most of my Sunday's after church..when the kids meals are $1.00 My 9 yr old son LOVES the red salsa. I love everything. The food is great the atmosphere is comfortable. We've gone to La Cabana on 1960 for years and have never been disappointed. We enjoy the casual atmosphere, the good Mexican food, and the helpful, polite wait staff. The tortillas are homemade and the chips are usually fresh & hot. The salsa is a bit thin, but, on the plus side, it is NOT too spicy (for people like me who prefer a milder version. The fish tacos and the stuffed avocado are favorite favorites for my group. The guacamole waxes and wanes... sometimes fantastic and sometimes not so much.
