Complete perfection in every way! The ambiance is the best in PV and the staff is 5 star. The views of the church at sunset are some of the best in town. The atmosphere and view from this place was incredible. For much of the evening they had two strolling violinists playing a wide range of songs. They were very good and added a lot to the atmosphere. From time to time couples would get up and dance. It was very sweet. The decor was also very romantic. The food was really good Italian. Only reason they don't get a five star is the service from our waiter was a little bit off with gaps in between courses. The food was very tasty. I had the Chilean sea bass which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My husband had the Osso Bucco which was Very tender and flavorful. The creamy tomato soup was also very smooth. The shrimp scampi was not skimpy and was full of garlic just the way we like it. Try this place out. It was very quaint and proved to be an entertaining and enjoyable evening. read more

Great food extremely romantic however I'm very annoyed I told the hostess it was my husbands bday I explained to her my trouble to get him to the restaurant and they didn't sing or anything to him I was raving about it but because of this I will never ever return it truly felt like a waste of time I can't believe I booked this spend alot of money just for the night to go to waste and not remembered it was extremely disappointing and no beautiful views can take away from the fact that happened this was our last night and I'm so mad this was how it ended not to mention I went to the iguana earlier and the exact thing happened horrible way to spend his bday . We stopped in 2 times this visit. The restaurant takes you for what feels like a Mediterranean visit, but ends in the most beautiful part of Mexico. The ambiance, the service, the food--it is all 5 star. The ambiance is designed around the most stunning sunset view. To compliment it, there are beautiful touches from the crown molding to the carved, wooden doors to the live violinist(s). The experience alone was worth the dine. The service is beyond; our server, Sergio, was knowledgeable and made sure to cater to my gluten free needs--even bringing out warmed gluten free bread. Then the food, it takes you to all sorts of Italy and the food is done as you order it. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. As an added bonus, the drinks--Mexican inspired--add to the experience of Puerto Vallarta whilst still celebrating all the good Italy has to offer. Finally, the prices make this place affordable. STUNNING! I've never been moved to tears upon entering a restaurant before, and even though I made the reservation and had seen many photos of the dining hall/view, I was still so incredibly blown away by the beauty and ambiance of this place. I booked the dinner for me and my best friend who was supposed to be celebrating her bachelorette in PV this past weekend. Covid threw a wrench in those plans so we made the best of the trip just the two of us and this was our last dinner spent together on the trip. The food was incredible - the staff were incredible - there were three violinists there playing music for those dining and taking special requests. We ordered a bottle of red wine, the scallops, salmon, vegetarian fettuccini and tiramisu. The violinists played Shallow by Lady Gaga for us and the moment was so beautiful we cried again. Before leaving, we met the owner - Raul - who showed us one of the incredible rooms! We will definitely be back here next time we are in PV. I would give them 10 stars if I could!! read more

This was my 3rd trip to Puerto Vallarta and my 1st trip to La Cappella and WOW, what a gem I had been missing out on. The view is exceptional! It's absolutely incredible. The dining room is gorgeous as well. And the food and service followed suit. It was an all around phenomenal experience. The prices were extremely reasonable as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're taking a trip to Puerto Vallarta. It's an absolute must! I truly can't say enough good things about this place. I had heard of this restaurant for years but was always afraid to go because as someone who travels alone and doesn't drink alcohol, I didn't know how I'd be received at a restaurant as nice as this. Boy was I surprised at how wonderfully I was treated! they made sure I had a table with a view. The food was excellent...and the prices were amazing for a restaurant of this type. Only $80 american for four courses. The service was impeccable and the wait staff was very friendly even when they realized I wasn't going to drink alcohol. The only disappointing thing was the way some of the patrons were dressed...some wore shorts which I thought tacky in a restaurant of this type, but the owners/staff can't be blamed for this. The strolling violins were the topping off of a splendid evening. IF you go to PV, do yourself a favor and go to LaCapella and enjoy the amazing experience. It will be on my list every time I go now. We went for our anniversary dinner and they gave us a lovely table towards the front with an incredible view and then gave us a celebratory glass of wine at the end of our meal! What a major disappointment! I had made reservations online a month before arriving in PV. I had notated that we were celebrating my birthday. We get to the restaurant and the first thing that goes very wrong is the hostess. She was super stuck up. Jeez, you work here, not own the place! (young, thin woman that wore a dress two sizes to small for her. Just saying). A very cold, stuffy greeting. Then we get sat at a table literally in a corner. We had wanted a table with a view. Not the case at all. Our view was through ornate wrought iron. When we asked to be moved to another table, we were offered a small table at the back of the restaurant, next to the kitchen doors where the servers constantly came through.I declied the back table. I asked for a table in the center of the resto, at least we would get to see the sunset. We were told that since we're only 2 people, those tables would be for larger groups. What, you can't give us a center table when the place was 1/2 empty?? We ended up with our original table :( Onto cocktails and wine. You'd think a drink would help the situation. The Bombay Sapphire gin martini I ordered had a weird taste and had a greenish tint to it. Olive juice? Bad cocktail. The wine list...way, way, way overpriced. A bottle of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay Vinter's Reserve 2017, $125 USD! (Bevmo: $13); Veuve Clicquot Brut, $210 USD (Bevmo:$29), La Marca Processco, $76.39 USD (Target:$13). Mind you, I live in San Francisco and know wines have a markup, but this was a total rip off. Dinner...the food was okay, nothing spectacular. The waiters were attentive. The overall service, was un-attentative, hurried and lacking in attention to detail. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever seen. Tucked away and a nondescript façade on the side of the hill overlooking the cathedral in Puerto Vallarta one walks through a beautiful arched hallway that explodes into a view of the Puerto Vallarta bay. The scallops and lobster matched the beauty of the view as did the service. It is expensive for Puerto Vallarta however relatively cheap when you consider the fine cuisine. Count on about $50 per person, more if you are a drinker. In this case I believe I got much more than what I paid for in terms of quality of everything. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times and have had a wonderful experience. Tonight, I decided to bring my sisters--a party of seven--to La Capella. The food and location are amazing. However, the level of noise from the musician s was beyond intolerable. Each musician had a microphone and we were right next to the speaker. I could not talk to the person next to me. When we asked the manager to turn down the speaker, we were told that the people in the front would not be able to hear the music I'd they turned down the speaker. Okay, what about my table of seven, who were assaulted by the volume of music. Never again will I spend the obscene amount of Monty I spent to be disrespected in such a way. Absolutely loved this restaurant. The elegant decor coupled with the most amazing food and view, made this my favourite higher end restaurant in PV. The service was spot on, professional but with personality. The menu had a great variety of dishes and very reasonable priced. Hubby and I both loved our meals from appies to dessert. Excited to try this place out after family recommended it as a "place you have to go to". We got all dressed up had the Uber dropped us off in front of restaurant. Only to have the doors locked?!? When I called I was told it was closed until Oct 1st!!!! There is NO mention of this on their website or the restaurant info on Google, in fact it shows it being open until 10pm tonight. I cannot begin to explain how amazing this restaurant was! THE VIEW, the food, the service... everything! It's hard not to love! It was elegant dining with a stunning view (no matter where you sit!). The interior definitely gives off the "classy and romantic" vibes you would get from Italy to the point where you have to remind yourself that you're in Mexico. I chose to have my birthday dinner here and have no regrets whatsoever! I would visit this place again a million times if I could, but for now, I'll leave it to someone else to experience!
