It is a nice, clean, well decor, warm, inviting (Mexican) Italian place for dinner. They do have outdoor and indoor dinning. The menu is big, plenty of choices for veggian and meat eater. They do have full bar and good list of cocktails and wines. The service is nice and very friendly. The foods are just good and hit the spots as you would expected. They do have live music (per listed) but it just one older guy playing violin at mediocre level. Sometime, when he played songs that I knew and beloved, I just want to order harder liquors. Overall it was good, the cappuccino and the desserts are excellent, especially the panna cotta, just yum. La Terrazza di Roma -- Excellent Food, Failing Management The kitchen and serving staff are genuinely impressive -- skilled, attentive, and professional without being intrusive. The food is consistently excellent. Unfortunately, two separate visits have been marred by rude, unprofessional behavior from management, which no amount of good pasta can offset. **Visit 1 -- November 28, 2025** My wife and I ordered lasagna and chicken parmigiana with a bottle of wine. The meal was excellent. Our bill came to 2,800 pesos before gratuity, and we asked the manager for change from a 500-peso note to tip both our server and the musician. He produced the change, but audibly grumbled throughout -- a petty response to a routine request in any full-service restaurant, let alone one positioning itself at the high end of the Puerto Vallarta market. I attributed it to a bad night and moved on. **Visit 2 -- May 14, 2026** The food again was outstanding: thinly sliced eggplant with dates and pine nuts, arancini al tartufo, gnocchi, and linguini. The servers were excellent. The hostess was not. We arrived at 6:45 p.m. and requested an outdoor table. The hostess told us none were available -- all reserved. We were seated inside. Over the next ninety minutes, the outdoor section remained nearly empty, with only a handful of those "reserved" tables ever occupied. We were dressed appropriately -- collared shirt, dress shorts, and shoes for me; a sundress for my wife -- so a dress code explanation doesn't apply. Being deceived about table availability is not a miscommunication. It is a lie. **Bottom Line** Two visits, two distinct incidents of management behaving in ways that would be unacceptable at a food truck, much less a fine-dining establishment. This is not bad luck; it is a pattern. If the owner is not the manager, I would strongly encourage them to evaluate who is representing the front of house. The kitchen deserves better, and so do the guests. There are many restaurants in Puerto Vallarta with welcoming hosts and gracious management. I will be dining at those instead. read more

We were staying at the Marina and walked by this restaurant a few times a day and it always had a great crowd. We made a reservation (I recommend this, especially on the weekends) for outdoor seating on the deck overlooking the water. It was perfect from the location, professional friendly service, live music, and the food. We got a great bottle of local red wine and a couple of their Italian dishes. All of it was delicious and at a great price point. Each morning we went for a walk and probably stopped in here for breakfast a 1/2 dozen times. Wonderful huevos rancheros, mimosas, and blood Mary's. Added bonus they had a phenomenal acoustic guitarist during breakfast. An absolute must stop if you are staying in the Marina area. While the ambiance, service, bread, and arancini were great, the pasta was NOT. I wish I could give 2.5 stars as 3 feels too high for bad entrees but 2 feels mean for how nice the staff is. There were three of us - got linguine with clams, ravioli, and penne arrabiata. None of them were good. Linguine and ravioli were the saltiest dishes I've ever tasted. I almost feel like they went to salt the pasta water and the top of the shaker broke, spilling the entire contents. I was able to eat about 3 raviolis before giving up. It was so salty my tongue stung for several minutes after. It was like I had been eating salt and vinegar chips all day. Linguine wasn't much better in the salt department. The clams were small but plentiful. Penne was very spicy, as told to me by someone who can typically handle their spice. She got through maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of the dish before giving up. None of us were able to finish our entrees. Really disappointing as the ambiance and service were top tier, and we really enjoyed the bread and arancini. We wanted to like the entrees so bad. I seriously cannot emphasize enough how salty the ravioli was. Do not order the ravioli, it is borderline inedible. It's wonderful to have a good Italian restaurant near our resort. We reserved a table over the water for a scenic view of the marina. My hubby enjoyed his lasagna and I fully relished my shrimp dish accompanied by tomatoes, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Yum! We also had the profiteroles for dessert. We had an excellent meal here with perfect service. We had reservations outside but opted for indoor dining because the humidity. We started with a bottle of wine. Nice selections of red at a good price. We opted for the Tempranillo. They brought the most wonderful bread to eat with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ate all six squares during our meal. I ordered the pasta with clams. Perfect white wine sauce with a lot of garlic. The plate had plenty of small clams. My wife ordered the pasta with a truffle sauce. She loved the dish. My wife and I didn't have reservations on a Saturday night but after about a 15 min wait we were seated. The food was amazing. My wife is gluten intolerant so asked for mashed potatoes on her dish instead of linguini and they substituted without issue. We sat inside in the AC which was a nice break from the heat in July but the outdoor patio is really nice and sits on the marina. Overall a great experience. read more

We were hoping to sit on the deck over the water, or at least outside, but everything was booked 3 days before the day we reserved, so be warned! That said, our table indoors, across from the pizza oven, was very pleasant. My wife was transfixed watching the baker make many, many pizzas -- to the point that may need to take up pie-baking to make sure I have her full attention when I have important things to talk about! Our table of 4 was well served the entire evening, and the food was sublime -- the best we had in two weeks in Puerto Vallarta and Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. Also, they had a much more extensive -- and palatable -- wine list than we found elsewhere. Other restaurants seem to push Mexican wines, which I've found simply don't measure up to much of the rest of the world (at least for the bigger reds I sampled). Unfortunately, prices are now nearly comparable to what I see in the States; perhaps 10% less, due in part to a weaker USD relative to Mexican currency, partly due to tremendous growth in tourists to PV the past decade (the PVR airport has the highest traffic in the country now), and partly due to popular restaurants learning that international visitors will pay. La Terraza appears to have several locations throughout the city, but the one at the Marina seemed to always be hopping from breakfast through late dinner. read more

What a beautiful restaurant! We sat on the terrace overlooking the water and it looked positively beautiful with the twinkly lights. Dinner was delicious as well. It came with free bread (always a plus) and we got the rigatoni rafaello and a pizza. The pasta was the absolute perfect size for two of us and had a wonderful rich, meaty flavor with al dente noodles. The pizza had a homemade feel to it as well, very sizeable and fresh. Our server Al was so attentive- what a nice man! Best waiter we had during our stay in PV. Live music playing as well. And, to top it all off, about $25 USD for both the pasta and pizza together! Cannot think of any downsides to this place. Top-notch views, stellar food, and attentive service all for an extremely economical price. I give this restaurant 4.5 stars but we only went there for breakfast/brunch. I know I know Italian restaurant known for dinner and we went to brunch. We were staying at a resort in marina vallarta and walked down the marina boardwalk to look for breakfast. It was hot out so we made a decision quickly after we saw the dining area over/on the water and a quick glance of the menu. We were seated along edge of the restaurant that sits over the water after being greeted by some iguanas. The ceiling fans bright some relief and every table was well sheltered by the large awning cover. We ordered French toast with Nutella and fruit, Chilaquiles with egg and chicken, Omelet Gusto with bell pepper, bacon and spinach. All were cooked perfectly and so much so that everyone had to try a bite from each plate. Each table gets a basket of toasted bread with jam and butter. A surprise treat. The coffee was delicious and the fruit smoothie was refreshing as well. The restaurant pops up in many searches for dinner but so glad we stopped in for breakfast. Staff was very welcoming and attentive and the prices very reasonable about $43 USD for 4 people. There was also so many fish in water viewable from our seats along with small crabs. I forgot there was a musician playing the guitar during our meal. Made for a great setting. read more

Nickel and Dime!!! They charge for everything. And then you don't even see it. As an example - Ordered Penne Alla Vodka - they charged for pasta, then 250 MXN for vodka and then 200 MXN for vegetables. So the dish came out to be ~ 700 MXN. The quantity is so little that we had to order one more. And we could barely see vegetables. Same thing for other dishes. And they even add the tip without asking. When lunch costs more than $300 in Mexico, it's pricey!!! read more

We ate outside which was very romantic with the lights. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, it was delicious! A must try!! They also bring fresh, warm focaccia bread, so good! For dinner I had the crab raviolis. They were very good, but just a little too heavy for me. My fiancé ordered the spaghetti Al Cartoccio which was basically a seafood pasta that he loved. It's nice they have an air conditioned inside area cause sometimes you just need to eat in cool air. My husband also raved about the bolognese sauce too. This retaurant is walking distance from the Westin Hotel. We have had drinks and appetizers at this place on the water in the past and decided to try it for breakfast. It is a lovely spot with a part of the restaurant on the water and another part overlooking the marina area. They specialize in Italian food. We wanted to sit in the area overlooking the water and asked to wait for a table overlooking the water and Mrina. The wait was not too long and we were seated at a wonderful table right on the rail overlooking the water. We ordered eye openers from the bar, which took a long time. It was taking a long time just to get them to take our breakfast orders too. At least the view and ambiance were so nice that the waits were bearable. When the food came, my husband's eggs (benedict) were very hard. We did not send them back because it took so long to get the entrees in the first place. My Huevos Divorciodos on the other hand were excellent!! Eggs cooked perfectly and dish was delicious. the stars are more for the restaurant location and the ambiance - the service could use some help and improvement read more
