Found this gem about 8 years ago. I still love it! Now I'm married with kids and it has become a family favorite. The service is absolutely amazing. First time in ! And all I can say is WOW !! There were four of us ! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest lady. Her name is Rosa and she waited on her table also! The entire evening was nothing short of amazing! The food has such great flavor, and Rosa was the sweetest! The food came out so fast the plates were hot and the food was delicious! When we were eating and looking around, the entire restaurant was so decorated graciously with beautiful Christmas decorations, so homey and sweet ! In the table next to us happen to be the owner of the restaurant, Jose, which came over to our table and started chatting with us and all I can say is he was so charming and nice ! He greeted us and talked with us for a few minutes! We did notice that their prices were definitely lower than most of the Mexican restaurants around, which really impressed us then we tasted the food and it got even better ! me and my girlfriend were in Ceres looking for someplace to eat lunch. Every place on yelp had really bad reviews. This one was so so. I wish I never had gone here. One the tortilla chips were burnt and when my friend asked her if we can get new tortilla chips because they were burnt, she brought us the same thing and my friend was like they're still burnt and she says well we just made them so that's how they came out . Holy moly. our meal came to us in less than five minutes. I ordered a combination which was a taco, rice and beans that just told me that they don't make anything fresh. It's probably made ahead of time and then stayed warm in warmers because it came out so fast or they microwaved it. I would not recommend this place and I would not go back there again Ceres you really need to step up your game as far as restaurants because there's not hardly any restaurants that are good over there. I have to drive to Ceres to see my mom in a nursing home and there is no place so far in Ceres, but this was the worst place to eat? read more

I wanted to get the whole fried fish head and all and due to a lack of communication between the server and me being a white guy, I was given a fried filet of cod vs the whole fish. Still excellent so no complaints. I'll order it next time. When seated I saw a bunch of dishes headed to a party in the lower bar area. They looked phenomenal. Especially the 7 deadly seas mixed seafood soup. The steaks with shrimp on them looked awesome as well. I didn't take a picture of my food because it wasn't what I wanted so I took pictures of the menu for people to see since I noticed it hasn't been updated on yelp in 5 years lol. This is our family's go to for Mexican cuisine. Homemade tortillas and chips. Great soups, albondigas is awesome. Staff is very accommodating and flexible. Some people haven't given this place a great review. Sometimes people have a bad day and take it out on the restaurant. Some people have taste buds that are shot from eating junk food. I've been to almost all the Mexican restaurants in this area and consider La Cascada a gem . Real food and genuine employees. read more

Came here after the lockdown was lifted. Of all of my years of living in Ceres. This was my first time going! And I was not disappointed. We had a great server. She was on it. And happy haha Their chips and salsa were AMAZING!! I love going to La Morienta so I always compare l Mexican restaurants to that. Their menu was detailed. They have a breakfast. So, another 3-star review...ugh. The food here was good, and the portions were generous. I enjoyed my chimi. It wasn't outstanding, but it was good. The restaurant though was a little less...we were initially seated in a "cooler" section of the main dining area, but asked to reseat ourselves shortly thereafter. The reason? An overwhelming smell of bathroom deodorizer and other unsavory bathroom scents. Yuck. At our new booth, it was certainly warmer- our server warned us that the air conditioning wasn't working as well in that section- but it was better than enduring the odors. My family and I came here because our regular Mexican restaurant was closed. I ordered fajitas, I get ice cold rice and whole beans were just thrown on the plate. The chips they gave us were the worst Tortilla chips I've ever had. Now the bill comes. The bill they gave us charged us 14% tax and I asked why. The manager takes it and comes back and says actually it's $7 more. Your boys got a refill. 1. We never asked for a refill, 2. It says on the menu that sodas have 1 free refill. (They only got 1 refill) and she refused to take it off. Check your bill before you leave here. This was ridiculous. read more

First time here and I don't think I'll come back. The service was just okay. We were greeted upon arrival and were told to pick an empty table to have a seat. The only table that was big enough for my family of 4 only had 3 chairs. My dad had to go and grab an empty chair from somewhere else (we shouldn't have to do that). A worker here brought us chips and salsa. The waitress then came and offered us something to drink. Within minutes our drinks came out. We were told that we could access the menu online but then brought us a paper menu. Maybe after 5 minutes she came and took our order (mind you that during her time with us she seemed soooo rushed and would slowly walk away even when we weren't done with our sentence or asking for something else). Our food took over 30 minutes to come out (it seemed like eternity!) While we waited we had to keep asking for more refills on our drinks and more chips and salsa. Our plates all came out at different times and we had to keep asking for different things more than twice because she'd forget. My mom had to ask for an extra order of tortillas and they never showed up my tortillas for my caldo de res came out like 5min later than when my food came out. And she had brought rice and chopped onion with cilantro and just left it on the table without saying anything. When she returned I had to ask if it was for my moms plate but said no that it was for me. How the hell was I suppose to know? Scene: POST-5 HRS. HOLIDAY DRIVE HOME from SLO Narrative: Our energy banks are depleted, we are exhausted & hungry. As I take the short cut home, through the wilds of Ceres, I see a restaurant light. Is it a mirage or is it real? From the outside, it does not look like much, but I am close to desperate delirium. We walk in, and the mirage disappears, and a real oasis of food takes its place. They warmly welcome us wayward travelers, and seat us in a cozy booth. A huge urn cascading water is the centerpiece of the large & very clean dinning room. A very pleasant smiling waitress takes our order. I order the $12 seafood Burrito that was recommended by her, and my wife orders a vege dish (A combo of a Cheese Enchilada and a Guacamole Taco) that was recommended. Our order, which was piping hot, came quickly, and we marveled at the Huge Machismo of my Forearm sized Burrito. IT WAS KIND OF LIKE THIS BURRITO BLUEPRINT: (see pic) Key @= Shrimp F= Fish _______________________________________________ [ [ @ ] [ @ @ Green Sauce [ Red Sauce @ ] [ F F @ @ F [ F @ @ F @ ] [_______________________[______________________ ] It was a beauty and was enhanced by green and red sauce on each half. We started going here during the quarantine in 2020. We've never eaten there. I've been inside it once or twice. Usually, my husband picks up our order. It's real Mexican food, cooked by real Mexicans. The food is very good. I get 3 carne asada tacos with rice and beans. He gets 3 enchiladas with rice and beans, and sometimes adds a taco. Sometimes I order a basket of flour tortilla chips. (The bill is $30-35 for two people) Though my tacos are very consistent, and the rice is consistent, the refried beans are not. They are always good, but sometimes they are "good" and sometimes they are "effing good." I attribute this to different cooks. It shows the food is made fresh each day. The beef enchiladas with red sauce are also inconsistent. Nothing is ever bad. It's just varied degrees of good. I frequently taste the provided salsa. It appears to be consistent in taste. I don't use it though. My taste buds are very "gringo." It's too "spicy hot" for me. They are inconsistent with providing lemon or lime wedges for my tacos. The citrus makes a big difference. Instead of getting upset about it, I now keep lemons in my home. The biggest problem I have is with ordering my tacos. Again, there is some inconsistency. One woman wants me to tell her what I want on it. Another woman wants me to tell her what I don't want on it. I don't care either way, but sometimes, the older sounding woman gets snippy with me if I don't order it the way she wants me to be ordering it. Everything is served in styrofoam containers. Sometimes, the sauce leaks out and makes a mess. The containers are placed in a plastic bag, and a very strong knot is tied. Be prepared to cut it rather than break it open. None of these are things worth removing a star for. Not even combined do they add up to a whole negative star. But, I do think a diner's experience will be more enjoyable if it is understood that these inconsistencies exist, and they are attributed to the human element. read more

It's not exactly authentic Mexican food but it's really tasty. The salsa is frigging delish! The Imagen Del Mar and the enchiladas in red sauce are my favorite items.
