Looks like someone's house when you pull up but it's a great place. Small with just a few tables but clean and great authentic Mexican food. Just here for a few weeks but I'll definitely be back!

I'm from the part of Texas where we cook TEX MEX. Here in Alpine, Mexico, the dessert SW in general the Mexican food is not good. Some say it's "traditional". If that means it needs salt, lacks flavor and imagination then they got it down. I had enchiladas and tacos. Enchiladas sauce was can I believe, tacos I liked a lot. Chips not so good, cold. Salsa had a lot of salt in it. Lol sorry LC, you're not the only place that taste just like this in the SW. maybe that's how y'all do it down here. Not for me. Nice people, fast service.

Chile Verde Special with a bowl of Queso

Stopped in for a quick lunch. I think there was only one waitress on duty but she was hustling so we hardly waited at all. We ordered Chile Verde from the House Specialties and it was pretty good! I would say this restaurant is a little different than your typical Tex-mex but still delicious. We also ordered a bowl of queso and I think it had queso fresco in it, which is very different than what I expected, but it was absolutely amazing! It was seat yourself and we were lucky to grab the last available table. We hardly waited at all before the waitress came with chips and salsa and menus. She took our drink order and came back pretty promptly to get our food order. This is a small, authentic little restaurant that I would absolutely return to!

This restaurant was terrible! The waitresses was mean and very rude. She made us dumb by asking questions in their elementary school menu.

Good food at good prices for the area. 1.75 per medium flour tortilla is a little high when you get 5 for the table.

Really enjoyed our lunch here. Nice small non-corporate authentic mom-pop place. Food was good, large portions, not over/salted!

What a nice surprise! We were greeted and seated right away, with drink orders taken promptly so we…read morehad time to review the menu. Service was on point. The ambiance is more on the utilitarian side not super classy or trendy but where this place shines is in the food. We ordered the carne asada tacos and the chips and salsa. Everything was clearly homemade. The chips were fried fresh and brought to the table warm, and the salsa tasted like it had just been made. The flour tortillas were also fresh and full of flavor. It was very, very good. We popped in for a light lunch and enjoyed every bite. Authentic, satisfying, and perfectly balanced not too heavy, not too light. Just right. Fast and delicious. Bravo!

Walked in and were seated right away. A couple across from us had what looked like tostada cups but…read morethey said it was the nachos. They looked really good and on the appetizer menu so I got them. Asked for the salsa flight but waiter said the prep guy did not come in that day so they had no salsa (none at all)! So o ordered the guacamole (which he competed). Also got a Jamaica juice that was so large I had to get a to go cup when we were ready to leave. The guacamole was house made but it did lack some flavor. It needed a punch of garlic and some salt. Only thing I could add was the salt from the table. Otherwise it was good and chunky. The nachos came out and they were massive. I was able to eat about 10 chips before giving up. My provider and I said we should have shared. They are loaded with meat, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico, and pickled red onions. I have no complaints bout the taste as it was all very flavorful and seasoned well. There are not a lot of options for food in town but I would eat here again.

We really enjoyed this place- so much so, that we ordered a pint of salsa to go!…read moreThe service was great- food was quick, and it made be some of the best sweet tea I've ever had ever. I got the relleno- I wish I had asked if it had meat in it (it was just cheese) but it was FABULOUS. The enchiladas and chips were also excellent, and my hubby (who is not easy to please) LOVED his double meat cheeseburger basket. The Alcove up in Alpine should learn how to make burgers like this!! We sat outside on the patio- perfect weather. I do wish people would stop taking their dogs to eating places..... not everyone enjoys dog noises and dog dirt and dog hair while they eat. (Not the restaurant's fault at all.... Just doesn't seem courteous to those who prefer eating in the fresh air, without animals around.)

We tried one snack to share since we were already here and hungry which was mediocre. The cherry on top was when they tried to charge us for two orders instead of one we got. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out!
