If I could opt to give this place no stars then I would. The service was horrible. Stood inside the door for close to five minutes. None of the employees I made eye contact with cared to greet my party. Once the four of us decided to seat ourselves, an employee placed two menus on our table and walked away. During this time, two additional parties entered. They were both greeted and seated immediately. I then noticed they were being served chips and salsa. We then got up and left. The place was recommended by a local and I'm so glad we gave it a try. We both had one of the combination plates that consists of 3 items and then beans & rice are extra. The 3 items were more then enough so no need for any extras. The chips & salsa need a bit more salt for our taste but were very tasty after all. La Casita is a superior mexican restaurant in an area well known for its food. It has been operating since 1947. The food is excellent and inexpensive. The service is efficient and friendly; the dining room is clean and can accomodate groups; the Globe downtown area is interesting. Sometimes the simplest meals are the best. A bean burro with plenty of salsa and a glass of iced tea will cost you only a few bucks and may cause you to reconsider opinions of Mexican food elsewhere. Top plate is hot! read more

Went there a month or so back and the service was completely terrible. Our drinks had been completely empty for a while and not a single server came by to fill them. I ordered flour chips but got corn and the green Chile cheese crisp was covered in grease. I lived in globe for most of my life and when I was younger it was a lot better. read more

Stumbled across this place on a random trip to Globe from Phoenix. It looked a little scary from the outside but the inside was not scary at all. Relatively small place but well-lit, tons of families eating here and cool wall art. I disagree with the other reviews - our service was awesome. Our server was really pleasant and polite, brought more chips without us asking and checked on us regularly. Had the chicken chimichanga, and it's what you'd expect a deep fried chicken roll to taste like. I'd come back for the experience of a hole-in-the wall alone. read more

Was so excited to eat here. Sat down and waited, made eye contact and even waved to a waitress. It was 7:30, so it wasn't too busy. Waited for 20 and still nothing, no one has approached us or even got our drinks. Waited 5 more mins before leaving, even as we left we weren't acknowledged. HOLY HELL, The best I've ever had. Had the Machaca (think that's how you spell it) Chimi and it was amazing. I live 2 hours away and would drive up there again just to eat here. When I walked in I wasn't that impressed, got a little nervous because it needed a little, how to out this nicely, the dining area was a little not the cleanest. Floor needed cleaning and waxing badly. The salsa they bring out is really good, when I got my dinner I was blown away. Definitely GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This IS as good as it gets. Its been here since 1947, and there is a reason why: simply terrific food and outstanding value for money. We were in town for the Little League State Tourny and picked this place based on the Yelp reviews and they were spot on. We love Mexican and have had it all over the Arizona and New Mexico, and I have never had better. The Chile Relleno is the best I've ever had, and the chicken burro enchilada style with green sauce is fantastic as well. Everything clearly is freshly made to order. Globe is not on my beaten path but I would go out of my way to come here again. read more

Really authentic Mexican food, really cheap. About 1/2 what you pay in Phoenix. Don't know what else to say! Worth the 90 miles trip. My only quibble: the salsa on the table is gringo/snowbird stuff as far as the heat. It tastes good, it's a little sweet, but you could give it to your baby. Ask for the spicy salsa to kick it up a couple notches. with respect to the several reviewers commenting negatively about the service... it's pretty basic. The guy wiping our table down, left it wet so we had to ask for a dry towel to dry it off. But our server was really nice, though she was very very busy and didn't come to our table as often as we might have liked. That's OK though. I came here for the great food, not to be treated like a king. No, there wasn't a goddam hostess waiting to seat everyone. But they keep the place clean. Guess what? They don't have free wi-fi here, either. Get over it, this is a small-town cafe with small-town prices, so I think these people complaining about the service should just stay in Phoenix or Tucson and go pay double at Macayo's or some other chain Mexican food place for so-so Mexican food. read more

I'm from Washington State and we have much Mexican food there. I had overcooked chicken fajitas with white onions, no peppers or sauteed onions. I asked for hot sauce, they don't have hot sauce! Are you kidding me? I did not taste any Mexican spices at all. Very disappointing when we asked a local where to eat and he said this place was the best in Arizona. read more

Great Mexican food in a small town on the way to the White Mountains. I had chicken burro enchilada style with green sauce and it was as good as I have had in Phoenix or Puerto Vallarta. My companion had a combo plate and it was also excellent. Worth the stop for a really good meal. read more

Yes, the service is definitely inconsistent, and it's a divey place. But hey, it's Globe, and not the kind of place you're gonna see a corporate trainer. When I'm out of town, I want to eat where the locals eat, and this place has that in spades. We had to hustle to grab a table last Sunday evening. BTW, you seat yourself. Our initial server was lousy, but then we lucked out and Desiree took care of us after we had received our drinks, she got the place to 4 stars instead of the 3 the place earned solely on the food. Apparently it's been around forever, and the food is why. Everything tastes like Abuela just cooked it up, fresh and hot. Bean burro was tasty, albeit a little on the small side. Wife and I also shared the Albondigas soup, just a dash of salt to appease our palate and it was perfection in a bowl. Rice in the meatballs was a new one on me, but it works! Wife said the sour cream enchilada was decent, and I immensely enjoyed a machaca taco. Kids split a chicken quesadilla that was decent, but nothing memorable. Only food item that was truly weak was the salsa that comes with the chips. Even my wife (she can't stand spicy anything) thought it was incredibly mild and watery. We also got a good laugh out of the serving cart and the dreaded bottom shelf, gave me flashbacks to the original Matta's in Mesa. We'll go back with low expectations on service but leave with full stomachs and a smile. read more

I really enjoy the green chili here, it's lightly spicy and the green chili is chunky and has great flavor. One of my favorites for that dish in globe (which is green chili central). The chips and salsa were good too. I like the building its in too, has a historic feel to it. read more

I could eat the green chili cheese crisp every day of life, it's SO good! They'll ask if you want green chili strips or the green chili meat. It's the green chili meat smothered on the cheese crisp that is so amazing. The chicken burrito is really great too. I'm pretty sure they charge for soda refills, which is lame, but I love the food so I'll keep going back! read more

I have to say the best Mexican Food I have ever had. I stopped by on a trip home, and the owner was out and about, mentioned that everything there is homemade, yummy. My husband ordered a beef taco salad and about halfway through his salad he found a large piece of saran wrap mixed in with the the lettuce. When we informed the waitress she nonchalantly said "oh that's what I used to cover it in the fridge" and then said that since he had almost eaten all of the salad she couldn't comp the salad but could take a few bucks off. We weren't trying to get a free meal. Highly disappointed with the customer service! Waitress didn't seem surprised that there was a foreign object in the food. read more

La Casita is my absolute favorite restaurant in the whole world. I grew up in Globe and always eat here whenever I visit my family. I highly recommend the Number 5 combo, which consists of a burro, taco, and enchilada. The sour cream enchiladas are the bomb too! really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. read more
