    Tostada & Tacos & Beer

El Guapo Burro is a true hidden gem in Queen Valley! The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the delicious Mexican food. I got a tostada & it was packed full of flavor & absolutely delicious! I couldn't believe how big the portion was for one! The drink menu features a variety of refreshing cocktails & beers. What really sets this place apart is the stunning sunset view from the patio--it's the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. They also have karaoke every Friday night from 6-10 PM! An amazing hangout for a weekend full of fun!!

So let me start by saying this is quite the hidden gem. However, their menu threw us off guard as they have tacos, flautas, quesadillas, and tostadas. They're definitely a taco shop, they don't have all of the Mexican food you'd expect. However, the food they do have is AMAZING. The tacos are authentic. The owners are super nice and the atmosphere is awesome. They have a bar and indoor seating area and an outdoor seating area with cornhole and a big open field the owner said they hoped to turn into a country music spot. The 4 stars comes from two things in particular. There was one of the chicken tacos that the chicken was not the best. The flavor was off and didn't taste Mexican. It was oddly marinated. The chips and salsa are also $5 and the chips are just like Tostitos. I found that a little over priced. The salsa with the chips and salsa was super good. It was the perfect mix of chunky and had a bit of a spice. The verde and rojo salsas that came with the tacos though topped it. The salsas on the sides were the best. The pico de gallo was also amazing. The shrimp and marinated steak tacos were the best on my plate and I highly recommend them. The chicken in the chicken quesadilla was the good chicken. Other than the one mentioned above, the yellow looking chicken taco was delicious. The brown chicken one was the not so good flavored one. The yellow chicken was in the quesadilla and the quesadilla was delicious. Will definitely be coming again!!

When I talk about an AWESOME hidden gem, this is it! El Guapo is so fun and fresh! We went out exploring and ended up here. We made new friends, had great food & drinks too. The owners are the sweetest people. Robyn took me on a tour to show me all the amazing renovations they are doing. They will have 10 little rental units available soon, and will have a fantastic outdoor area for live music. This will be a great weekend getaway spot. Great UTV and motorcycle destination too! Go check em out! Thursday - Sunday

Hidden Gem!! Only good things to say about this place. The restaurant itself is very cute. Modern and well taken care of. There are even murals and photo ops! The owners were so so nice and we got great service. The food was incredible too! Shrimp tacos were bombbbb

Chicken taco salad with marinated chicken, rich flavors and a southwest dressing. Yum!

What a great little gem with friendly service and fresh food in the dessert! This baja restaurant is right across the street from a small lake with fountain and park benches. They have a colorful interior and a large outdoor covered patio. My husband had the beef tacos and I had a taco salad that looked and tasted like a work of art. Absolutely recommend and will return.

Great service in a quaint little community bar. It's bar food, but fresh and good! There is a plethora of habanero hot sauces to try too.

Manny is the owner. He's always around and sometimes even cooking. Brightly colored booths and tables as well as extra rooms in the back that you could book for a private event. Also, a drive thru available if you're in a rush. There's also a really nice bar in the back room. Lots of fun local artsy stuff around to look at. Good sized tv in the front room to watch the game on. On another note-know a good cook? Talk to Manny he's looking for someone!!! Could it be you?!?

But nope, it's been excellent and #1 Asada in the entire state of Arizona each time, and I'm happy. I will say, my first visit had the best service, but it hasn't been offensive; just okay I guess. They are certainly on the slow side, but it's a mom and pop local restaurant with like 2 people working it. I think expecting perfect everything is a bit silly. They do well enough. Anyway, I really like the home feel of the resturant. It's a bit small, but I feel like I am visiting my old friend(RIP) grandmother's house when I was in my early 20s. I really like it here. Please stop by. They'd be happy to have you.

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

There is a big sign that says "Online Orders" however, customers are scattered all over inside & it is not clear who's in line to order or who's waiting on an order. I felt a bit uncomfortable because I did not want to cut anyone in line. I did enjoy seeing the wood fired grill inside the restaurant, right behind the registers. It smells great and you get a chance to see the meats and veggies being prepared. They also have a self serve salsa bar, which is always a great addition! They have 4+ different salsa options, plus pickled onions, cucumber slices, lime slices, and radishes! Yum!! I mentioned that indoor seating is limited, but there is a very nice covered front patio area available with plenty of seating. If I had been dining in, I would have loved to eat outside. The food was great. Portions were on-point with the price you pay. I could only eat 1/2 of my bowl, and a few chips before I was completely stuffed! I really wanted to give this place 5 , but there was one issue that caused me to drop to a 4. Once it was time for Dessert, I noticed that the Flan was not fresh. 1 container had a date label that said "08/12/25" and the other said "8/09/25" it was 08/13/25 when we had this meal. I was not very concerned about the 08/12/25 flan, but knowing that one was from 4 days prior was definitely off-putting for me. All in all, we enjoyed the meal & would go back in the future. However, if ordering Flan again, I will check the labels before leaving the restaurant so that I can ask for a fresh one instead.
