We bought my mom to this restaurant for her birthday and the food was awful, 2 of us got Beef Tacos and the meat tasted old and bitter. The beef had to be bad from the taste of it.. We hadn't been here in more than 20 years. We decided to go and see how it was. It opens at 11:00 am. We were the first and only ones there today. The waitress, Gloria, greeted us and we sat down. She was very sweet and answered all our questions. Chips and salsa were great. We ordered #11 from the lunch menu. That includes a taco and enchilada with rice, beans, soup or salad. I chose the Albondigas, and it was very good. Rice and beans were good. I had a ground beef taco and cheese enchilada. Taco was ok. Meat needed more flavor, but enchilada was good. I am new the the Victorville area and have been wanting to find a good Mexican restaurant. I spotted Los Toritos Mexican Restaurant on my way to Home Depot on Bear Valley. On my way home I decided to give it a try, boy am I glad I did! The service is great! The food is packed with flavor! I specifically ordered the tamale plate because it is rare to find a restaurant that serves moist tamales that aren't very grainy and crumbly. The tamales were moist and full of flavor, they were topped with a very tender flavorful Chili Colorado. The rice was moist and had just enough flavor to complement the main dish but not steal the show. The beans were the perfect consistency with the perfect amount of flavor. The Cadillac margarita I ordered packed a powerful punch and if you're just looking to relax it's perfect. From the very beginning of my visit I had my hopes up when I tasted the very delicious salsa and then the albondiga soup that preceded my meal. They were so delicious! I knew my meal would be the same and I was not disappointed! The ambience was great along with everything else. I highly recommend this place. I have to confess...I ate their salsa and chips for breakfast. The best salsa I've ever had and living in SoCal my whole life, I've had a lot of varieties. They need to jar it. SERIOUSLY!! My husband and I had to stay local for a couple days and I'm so happy I stumbled upon this restaurant before we headed back to Tennessee, so that we could get our Mexican food fix (it's hard to find good MF in TN). I have to admit, I started on the salsa first and got so full on that I could only eat half my chicken taco, but it was so flavorful. The meat and spices were perfect. My husband loved his shredded meat burrito. He thought he could only eat half but ended up eating it all. I'm kind of puzzled by all the negative reviews. I ordered take-out and when I walked in they were very friendly and helpful and mariachi music was playing in the background. Everything I ordered was there and the portions were healthy. I received a 4oz container FULL of tomatoes with some thin green stuff that tastes nothing like an avocado. I went with the albóndigas because I had been craving them and with hearing such good thing I figured what could go wrong! LOL it was bland I was very disappointed the salsa they brought out with the chips had way more flavor.. So I try to look past the atrocious excuse for albóndigas in front of me none the less it was horrible no flavor it was like if they watered down the last of the pot.. Out comes the food for presentation it was okay typical portions nothing special.. The food lacked flavor the chile relleno was okay more egg then anything the tamale was really salty and the taco was a hard shell shredded beef taco..
