We came here while we were in Southern California, and this place was really good. The ambience was great, the way the tables were set up, the music, everything just felt good and welcoming. The food was delicious. I had the carne asada plate and also tried a taco, and everything was on point. I knew what I wanted and how to pick it, and my food did not disappoint at all. My husband had the taquitos and enchiladas. His experience was a little different because he went more on the veggie side, and a lot of his dishes had potatoes, so after a while it started to taste the same for him. But overall, the food itself was still good. The service was great, drinks were good, and the overall vibe made it a really enjoyable experience. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

It's a very good full-service restaurant with a diverse menu including all the classics plus many unique Oaxacan items. I got the taquitos with nicely seasoned tender beef, black beans, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour cream, and queso fresco. They were among the best I've had. Ask for sides of their two execellent salsas. Free chips are served along with the two salsas -- next time I'd ask if they have a hotter version. Service was okay and the ambience basic strip mall.

Yelp helped us find this gem in Vista. First impression was how welcoming it felt when we walked in. The ambiance is traditional, beautiful decor. Staff were super friendly too. Hubby had the carnitas plate and I had the birria. Both were both delicious and generous portions. You can tell they take great pride in their food a care in both preparation and presentation. The complimentary chips and salsa were a nice touch. Note:salsas are delish and the red one is quite spicy. We agree that next time we'll try the mole and the tacos. So many great things to try...

Food was DELICIOUS! this is a Oaxaca inspired food, so so gooood! They served us tortilla chips topped with mole and salsa, the salsa was placed on these cute little mugs. My son ordered carne asada fries, i ordered the quesa birria tacos. The carne asada was deliciously seasoned! And the quesa birria tacos were heavenly. The horchata was flavored perfectly. Will definitely come back to have some more of their yummy food. The service was fast and friendly. No wait time, we where greeted as soon as we walked in. They are a family owned business and they gave off that whole vibe. The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute. Very mexico oriented, they have really cool decor. Next time I go I want to try the tlayuda. That dish is traditional in oaxaca

A nice, clean Mexican restaurant. Everything was good, but I expected to be wow'd by it and I wasn't. It started with the complimentary basket of chips. It just seemed skimpy and if you want more, you have to pay extra. I had the chicken mole. Delicious, rich mole, but the amount of chicken (boneless) seemed skimpy. Rice and beans were unremarkable. Others in my group ordered chile verde, green chilaquiles with scrambled eggs, the 3 taco combo (birria, carnitas, chicken), molotes and a birria plate. All meats were very tender and prepared and cooked nicely. I thought the birria tasted quite plain, though. It didn't have any hints of cinnamon, chiles. The molotes were good, but my friend commented that she didn't taste chorizo. I just expected a little more.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Vista area. It is a quiet with some Spanish music playing softly in the background. All the servers are friendly and the service is usually very fast. The food is incredible. I love getting their chicken mole or the chile verde. They also have great birria. You can't really go wrong with anything here.

Great little spot for authentic Mexican food. Ordered their chicken mole and it was really good! Tortillas made in house, super fresh. I like their complimentary chips drizzled with black beans(?) and they have really good spicy salsas. Good customer service too! Staff was friendly

The food was superb! Went for breakfast with my husband and daughter. Service was very friendly and accommodating. It is in a part of town I don't usually go to, but my hubby and I already are looking for a date night to go one evening.

Our food and cocktails were good. I ate a bowl of delicious clam chowder. I wish there were more clams than potatoes, but the taste was very good. You could also get it in a sourdough bowl! I never had any issues with the service, all the staff is super friendly and of good advices. The place is clean, large, nicely decorated, they have a full bar inside and even a fish/seafood shop. I love their happy hour deals. $1 oyster Monday and $5 taco Tuesday are bomb (2 taco will definitely feed you dinner!). The $13 HH burger is an unbeatable deal and I love their ceviche and their fish loaded fries The only reason why I don't rate this place 4 or 5 stars is that the food quality isn't consistent. My mother and I had some disappointment when re-ordering some items in the menu on different days. I am certain that this will improve and wish the best of luck to this business. If you pass by Vista make sure you check this place out. Recommended.

The wine was good, and the redheaded bartender was genuinely kind and pleasant. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. A woman with curly hair came storming over to her husband, screaming and cursing at him in front of everyone. Then, as if that wasn't enough, she turned her attention toward the couple he had been talking with and started yelling at them too. It completely destroyed the atmosphere. We came to a winery to enjoy some wine and relax--not sit through someone's loud, aggressive public argument. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and incredibly disruptive. I couldn't believe this was happening. What should have been a nice Friday evening turned into an extremely uncomfortable experience. Good wine and a nice bartender don't make up for an atmosphere like that. We are new to the area, and unfortunately, this was our first impression. We won't be back and definitely won't recommend this establishment.
