My favorite Mexican food in SM! We go multiple times a month. Everything I've tried is so good and they are friendly. My favorite is the Sopes special and Coctel. BEST NACHOS I HAVE EVER HAD!! First off, place is so cute. Nachos were chicken, cheese, beans and guacamole. You have chicken options! Shredded or grilled. I went with grilled. Was to go and they gave me 3 red salsas and 3 green and 2 sides of nacho cheese sauce! Ratio of bean to cheese to chicken was perfect. Every bite had a bit of each thing. Great experience tonight at Nachoss. First time diner here and was greeted delightfully by a female cashier. Very sweet lady who made a few menu recommendations for me. I tried the adobada taco and carne asada fries. I had no idea how big the fries serving was! Definitely could have shared and took half home. Came with nacho cheese, beans, sour cream, guac and shredded cheese. Lots of room to sit inside the restaurant and very comfortable chairs. First off, they're laughably cheap with salsa and drinks ... Soda is $2.99 small / $4.00 medium (no large). Sodas filled in the kitchen and no refills even on request. No salsa bar. You get one little plastic mini salsa container with each item and that's it (there were 3 options - pico, hot, and some 3rd option). There's no self-serve anything here. Decent $14 vegetarian burrito I guess? Refried beans were fine but not the top chile relleno burrito in town mindblowing by any stretch. Maybe reviews are on more of a takeout/takeaway place? We tossed out the nachos! We ordered the nacho supreme with ground beef. It was big enough to share, but that is the only positive thing I can say about it. It only had about 6 slices of jalapeños. Best Cali Burrito in SD. Steak is charred and cooked to perfection- the opposite of dry. The potatoes taste fresh, the pico and guac taste fresh as well and have a beautiful lime flavor. They use the perfect amount of cheese and all of the ingredients are balanced. The tortilla has a perfect crisp and to top it all off you get a fantastic salsa and a side of chips. This restaurant has the nicest employees and the best homemade tasting Mexican food. We were immediately greeted by the kind cashier who answered our questions. When we got to our seat the young server brought us chips with salsa. He was extremely nice and professional. Everyone seemed very happy to work here, which made us enjoy our meal even more. When we entered Nachos Taco Shop, the lady, a long time employee was so welcoming and helpful. When we told her that we were first time customers, she proudly stated that they had been operating for 30+ years. We placed our order at the counter, afterwards we found our table. Shortly after we sat, the lady brought a tray with corn chips and mild salsa and offered a spicier version if we wanted it. We took her up on it. She even went around checking with all the customers to find out anything was needed. Rarely do you find that happening in a Resturant with just counter service. Usually the customer has to get up and ask. The food at this Resturant was excellent!! I got a beef taco and a chili relleno plate. My husband got a burrito and enjoyed it immensely. My chili relleno was huge and very delicious. I enjoyed my beef taco also. We both felt the menu prices were very reasonable for what you ordered. The Resturant was kept very clean and table wiped down as soon as a customer got up and left. This is casual dining at it's best. We noticed they had a pretty brisk take out business.
