Located this spot on Yelp when I was in Malibu and was trying to figure out where and what to eat. Drove to Topanga for La Chingona Tacos. I went at night. They were pitched out in a private parking lot, tents, tables, and stools where one of the dining areas was at. There was another better lit dining area across the parking lot. I had three tacos and a drink - they didn't have enough Jamaica so it wasn't filled all the way :/ The tacos were good, loved the handmade fluffy tortilla they came in. I had the shrimp, carne asada, and carnitas tacos. I kind of thought some were lagging in flavor, but I could have just requested more salsa to add to them that probably would have helped with that. The three tacos were filled nicely and I didn't leave still hungry. It was still a unique experience coming here because the underdog of the night were her tortillas! They were quite unique for street style sized tortillas imo and I appreciated the surprise. While it was a pleasure meeting the woman behind it all and her helpers, I am not sure if I would go out of my way to come back unless I were already in the area or maybe if I needed to cater for a party. I would say if you're looking for a caterer - come to their pop-up first and see if you like her food. They have a catering menu available. read more

La Chingona serves the best organic burritos in LA with lots of vegan options. The Cactus/Yucca/Soyrizo combo is amazing, I get it every Tuesday. The family that runs it are from Guatamala so don't go there expecting low quality Mexican cuisine, go to Taco Bell instead if you are looking for unhealthy experience. read more

I ordered two tacos chicken and one asada, I don't know if it's me, but the meat was kind of dry, lacked flavor. What made me stop with the homemade tortillas a little bit too thick for my taste but I will not recommend this place if you really love street tacos . This place is so cute and the food is tasty. It's an outdoor food stand with tables covered in colorful fabrics. And cause it's in Topanga canyon it's organic I got the taco plate - three tacos and a drink for $14, and you get a free refill on the Agua Fresca so I tried both the Jamaica and Tamarindo. Both were excellent. Service was really friendly. The soy chorizo taco was very tasty as was the chicken and carne asada. And the sauces were so tasty. I could put that avocado salsa on everything. I wanted to love this spot--especially because of the "handmade corn tortillas" that suggest the promise of authentic Mexican food. However, it's clear this version has been watered down for non-Mexican palettes. What's lacking is FLAVOR. Questions that remain: Why is there rice and beans on my taco?? Why are the shrimp so tiny? Why is it all so bland? Where is the salsa?? Based on other reviews, I believe the owner wants to do something good here, but the essential flavors of Mexican food are not to be found. The 5 star reviews must be because their façade plays into Topanga tropes - "medicine", "good vibes", "one love", woman owned business, personable employees... Unfortunately, the food is not good. The taco and burrito filling is mostly rice. Their handmade flour tortillas are thick, fairly dry, and not tasty. For "guacamole" they either have that bland green moosh like the pre-made or powdered kind, or a watery mild green salsa they call guac. If you order meat in your burrito good luck finding any in all that rice. At least the ingredients are reported to be organic? (Where are they getting certified organic plantains?) Pine Tree Circle needs to replace this truck with a real Mexican food truck. Preferably organic, but good. Good and organic do not have to be mutually exclusive! read more

I visited La Chingonas Tacos today . They are now located at the old Froggys on Topanga Canyon Blvd in Topanga Canyon. Wow wow wow they are serving delicious Tacos . They taste great very nice flavors and amazing guacamole. The atmosphere is wonderful outside dining with lots and lots of hummingbirds. I absolutely loved it . My favorite tacos! I love Adriana (the owner) and all the love she puts in to feed her community. On days I don't want to cook I know I can always have a warm delicious organic meal with LC! I find myself craving the bowls and plantains. I also love that everything is homemade sustainably sourced so I know what I'm putting in my body is healthy. Hands down some of the best street tacos I've had. Chicken, steak, chorizo with potatoes AND shrimp are soooo good. The salsas are amazing, green happens to be my favorite. I don't eat Mexican food very often because it tends to be very salty, full of dairy, and it's rare that you can find clean, organic food with gluten-free tortillas. If you love to eat healthy, this is the place! Adriana and her team are so friendly and warm, and the food is outstanding. I'm mostly vegan, now, after 30 plus years of being vegetarian, so I get a bowl with the Hibiscus Stew for the protein. The sauces are delicious, the ingredients are organic and fresh, it's a whole new experience of Mexican food!
