I wish to recommend with the highest regard La Cholla Dental. They took time to see me on a Saturday when I was experiencing agonizing pain from the worst toothache I've ever had. Over the course of the next three weeks I had a root canal and bridge work done and it went really well. The staff is courteous and professional, and heading it all up is Dr. Nguyen, at once the kindest and most competent dentist I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Thanks to him I no longer fear going to the dentist. Their rates are the cheapest I've found, and when you consider that they're open on Saturday AND Sunday, it's a no-brainer. If you need dental work, do yourself a favor and go see these guys at La Cholla Dental. You won't regret it. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! While the Dr is kind,gentle and caring, and great for an emergency, I had x-rays and they wanted to charge me $800 for a cleaning! They ALSO wanted to do 4 Root Canals and CROWNS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY!! I went to another dentist, cost $100 for the cleaning! DID NOT NEED THE ROOT CANALS AND CROWNS!! SCAMM!! read more

A Bad dentist and a Bad dentist office. As I see it he is exactly the type of dentist that organizations like the Arizona Dental Association and the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners have the authority and responsibility to protect us from. Unfortunately, both organizations failed to enforce their principles and guidelines, the standards of care, as well as the laws of the Arizona Dental Practice Act when I brought complaints and the evidence necessary to support them against this dentist. Even worse, both organizations chose to not even process the complaints. By that I mean they chose not to actively pursue the complaint process - hear the charges against this dentist, examine/investigate the evidence which supports that charge, determine his guilt or innocence, and then order disciplinary actions/sanctions to discourage this dentist office from committing professional and ethical misconduct. For example- False advertising. In 2016 I chose this dentist and at that time his website advertised he was a member of the ADA. I found out from the ADA that he wasn't a member and hadn't been a member since the year 2013 when I tried to file a complaint against him for not complying with the ADA guidelines for x-rays. As I experienced it, this dentist and office were not following the ADA guidelines for justification and overall dosage limits. Instead they were x-raying me as much as possible. Example- I presented the x-rays from my prior dentist and they claimed that although they were current (less than 6 months old) they weren't good enough. These x-rays came from the "Best Dentist in Arizona as Voted By other Dentists." He also ordered x-rays without even looking inside my mouth first which is in direct conflict with the ADA guidelines. The ADA refused to even accept a complaint because he was not a "member" dentist. They suggested I file a complaint with the Arizona Dental Board. But what about the fact that he was falsely claiming to be an ADA dentist? They referred me to the AZDA. Fast forward three months later and this dentist was still falsely claiming to be an ADA dentist. They had sent a letter to him pointing out that his membership had lapsed but failed to take any other effective action to compel him to cease/desist his false advertising. And of course, because he was still not a member they would not accept a complaint against him for non compliance with the ADA guidelines for x-rays. I found a new dentist who really was a member of the ADA and then requested my records from this Bad dentist and Bad dentist office. The request was a written/legal document hand delivered to his office by an official process server and he had a 15-day legal deadline to produce/transfer physical hard copies of my dental records to me. I contacted the office 4 days before the deadline expired to notify them that I had not received the records and that the legal deadline was about to expire. This dentist office acted as if they hadn't even received the request. IMHO they simply ignored it and refused to fulfill their legal obligation. The deadline expired and I didn't get my records. At this point I decided to make a complaint with the Arizona Dental Board. I included everything - false advertising, failure to comply with x-ray standards of care, failure to provide copies of patient records per the Arizona Dental Practice Act. I include the charges as well as providing the evidence/exhibits to support those charges - emails, copies of that written request, as well as offering to provide the board with audio recordings of the actual office visits. The Arizona Board of Dental Examiners refused to process the complaint claiming it didn't contain an allegation that this dentist violated the Arizona Dental Practice Act. I resubmitted a second time with specific violations of the Dental Practice Act and it was refused/returned to me a second time for the same reason. I submitted a third time and this time included the specific sections of the Dental Practice Act which define his actions as professional/ethical misconduct, show that each offense is grounds for disciplinary action per the law, and the ASBDE is mandated by law to take action to protect the public/patients in this situation. The complaint was returned a 3'rd time and the director of the ASBDE included a letter stating the situation does not merit an investigation. The Dental board not only refused to act upon the complaint each time it was submitted. Each time they marked it with a time/date stamp as if it were "Received" and then SENT IT BACK to me via the Postal service so that they would not have any evidence in their hands which would prove the behavior of the bad dentist/office had been brought to their attention. So in my opinion this is a bad dentist and a bad dentist office acting with impunity and empowered/emboldened by oversight organizations that are corrupt and/or incompetent. I avoid him like I would a dumpster fire. read more

Best dentist ever!! Had to get all top teeth extracted. Didnt feel a thing. Also have had so many compliments on my dentures.

This Dental Group was refereed by "Delta Dental" Insurance. I initially called this office to make an appointment. Upon doing this, the phone receptionist was very nice and accommodating. She asked when I would like to come in. She stated that they were also open on Saturday's and Sunday's. Being surprised of their weekend hours, I immediately said GREAT, put me in for Sat. (next day) for 4 o'clock. Once I arrived on that next Sat., 3:40 p.m., I was greeted and asked to fill out the standard paperwork for new patients, and did so. I was finished with the paperwork by my appointment time of 4:00. It wasn't 5 mins. after 4 when another patient came through the door, announced he was there to the receptionist, and 5 mins. later they called him back. There I sat taking note of this and no one saying anything to me as to my appointment at 4. Later, still sitting in the lobby 4:23, I was getting a bit anxious about no attention/communication, as to when I would be taken. (Note: both very young associates behind the reception counter were loud when joking around and seemed to be very unprofessional.) While in the waiting area, now having the time to watch a couple of episodes of "2 and 1/2 Men" on the lobby T.V., I also had opportunity to see the cleanliness, or should I say, how dirty the waiting room was. There was at least 1/2 inch dirt build-up with webs on the floor, in the corner in front of the reception desk leading to the examination area. There was an empty aquarium attached to the wall that looked to have been there over a year and very dirty. At 4:30, the receptionist said to me (unsolicited by me), "it would only be another few mins.", I replied to her, "My appointment was at 4, right? No answer. Now into the 2nd episode of "2 and a 1/2 Men" it was now 4:45. To say the least, NOW experiencing all of the above, I said to myself, "what's wrong with this picture"? - They have Saturday and Sunday hours, most dentists don't. - No customer appreciation with any sense of urgency, at least for NEW Patients! - Filthy unsanitary conditions in a medical office - A VERY non-experienced-professional staff Waiting, 1 hr and 5 mins after i arrived, I finally asked for my filled out paperwork back and left. Still no one asking me anything even when requesting my paperwork back! This Dentist/Group is obviously very desperate to get patients if open on weekends, and if not, they have a VERY POOR Business Model. Stay away from this place! There are plenty of Great Dentists out there! read more

I would not recommend this dentist on my worst enemy! My husband scheduled an appointment on a Saturday weeks in advance. We arrived 15 min early so we had time to fill out paperwork. After we filled out the paperwork we sat and waited to be called back. As we were waiting, 4 other people walked in the door. We watched as one by one they got called back before we did. 45 min after our appt time we were finally called back. After we got to the back, the girl named Emma had an attitude with us through the whole appt. She very rudely told me to exit the room so she could take X-rays on my husband. And then proceeded to ignore us until the dr came in the room, even though we were sitting 3 feet away from her. Another 30 min go by and we finally get to meet the dr who looked over my husbands teeth and left the room. So after almost 2 hours of waiting we saw him for 5 minutes. Iris, who was very sweet, went over what he needed and because it was the cheapest quote we had received, we decided to give the office another try. Fast forward a few weeks later. We get to my husbands appointment and had to wait 30 min after his appt time to even get called back... Again. The doctor came in and told us that we were going to do work on a completely different area than we had talked about and although we tried to tell him our concerns about it, he completely brushed it off and started the work there anyway. We felt like he didn't care what our concerns were. 2 and a half hours later we finally left the office. 3 days later, the work that the doctor did fell off. After all the wait, a rude assistant, and a doctor who not only ignored our concerns but who's work fell apart after days, we would rather spend the extra money and go else where. read more

This review for La Cholla Dental is about the office...not the dentist. I booked appointments and a few days later was told a couple days after booking that my insurance wasn't accepted there (but it was on my insurance carrier's dental network list. I phoned to ask about it and this time they said I was covered, however they only had my appointment with the dentist on the books, and not a cleaning that I had positively scheduled. Suddenly that appointment was missing. How could I possibly trust a practice like this one with my dental care? I cancelled everything and will seek a better alternative. La Cholla Dentals gets one star for the very lousy service they provided to me. read more

My 16 year old daughter goes to this dentist. I have found the office staff to be very friendly and the dentist himself is a gem. I love the way he explains to her in ways that she can understand exactly what he is doing and he always assures me that he will take very good care of her. He has done the amount of work in far less time that what another dentist told me it would take. My whole family will go to him for our dental needs as his service far exceeds anywhere else I have been. read more

Never going here again! When you first walk in you assume the place is clean however the exam rooms have NO privacy. Separated by a wall and open dividers. The equipment area is dirty and dusty and the provider had to use a folding chair in order to hold up his equipment !?!? The staff is very rude as well. When it comes to billing ahead of time I asked them what the cost would be and they said they researched my insurance and I wouldn't have to pay for X-rays. However I got billed by my insurance mailed them a check as they billed me and they LOST the check. I called them after a month of an uncashed check and spoke with Carlos who told me the doctor is the only one who checks mail and he would call me back. He never called and it wasn't until I went to my new dentist to get X-rays they told me that I would need to pay $25 to get those records. Asked again about the check situation and the lady at the front desk said "that's not my problem your check was lost, don't ya think". Never going back! read more

Dr. Nyugen is a total professional- very efficient, polite and gentle. I have had a couple procedures and have more to go, but I'm not dreading them as much as I should be because I know I'm in good hands. The staff is also great. Vince does good work, and Matthew is compassionate and made me laugh while my mouth numbed. I'm thankful for this great office. read more

I requested a cost estimate to have a crown and abutment placed on tooth 19 that has implant. This practice responded that they were not able to give an estimate without having an exam and x-rays. I received responses from other practices that provided the estimate without issue. I will not be doing business with this practice. read more

The office staff is great kind and caring but, I am not please with Dr. Nguyen due to every time i have been in i have had to wait for 30 min or longer for Dr. to come in to just for the numbing and still waiting for another 15 min or longer to start fillings. I will never come back or recommend this office read more
