Honestly the best place for a haircut or other services (I don't have a beard unfortunately) I have been coming here for years! Absolutely love the place the vibe, sometimes they have perreo music which I love and my barber Bea is absolutely amazing! Cinna was my OG barber and he always got down! My husband told me about this place, saw they accept walk-ins Mon-Thurs. We came through, sign ourselves on the list and waited for a barber. Was my 1st time getting my son's hair cut here, so I didnt know which barber, but it didnt matter just wanted my son's hair cut. We got his hair cut with the owner Cinna. He did an amazing job, worked with me to make sure my sons first barber shop experience was a good one. We talked while my son got his hair cut. Really nice guy, like his style and what he's about. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the neighborhood, or looking to try a new spot. I really needed to be clean up as I'll be visiting my parents for our engagement this weekend and since I couldn't use my normal barber I was in a bit of a pinch. Since Covid I've experienced that many places are really hesitant on taking new customers and at first I was told they were closed but I explained myself a bit and I was told I could come in in a couple hours. Their shop felt a little bit like a speakeasy upon entering. I soon met my barber Gaby and she did an amazing job fading my hair and lining up my beard. Im very particular with my beard as it always seems to take a long time to grow past any mistake but I was very impressed with her work and I look forward to my next visit! read more

Started coming here to follow my son's barber, Beatriz. The place seems trendy is decor. There is no parking so street parking is the only option. The place was playing YouTube music videos during our visit all of which were inappropriate for a kid age 8. The barbers seemed experienced with a strong clientele. A good friend of our families takes their son's to LA City Clips. He recommended we take our son there to try it out and so I did. I was amazed at how good Beatriz was with my son, he really hates sitting still. I was really impressed with how she did his fade. She asked me how do you like his hair to be cut, in which I replied usually with clippers and scissors. Not sure if she thought that was funny... I let her know my wife and I like the top of his hair a bit higher and the sides faded. She then asked him, so how do you want me to cut your hair. She totally included him in the process and entertained him all while cutting his hair the way we like. While I was there I met the owner Alonso, who did a clean up between appointments for me on the house, which was really nice of him. I really liked the barber shop, most of all my son loved everyone there and my son actually for the first time had a great hair cut. Prices were very reasonable and service was excellent. I moved to Boyle heights alittle over 4 years ago and was stressing on finding a new barber (you know how that can be). After searching on maps for a barber I came up on LA city clips. A privately owned barber shop along a Main Street that now has the best of the best for cuts and fades and facial hair trimming. Other services I haven't had done but I have been so happy with the way they take care of me. I get my haircut by Cina (the owner) and Beatriz who are both friendly, skilled and do an incredible job with making sure I'm okay along the way as they cut. As of right now they are appointment and cash only but they are great at accommodating to your needs. I get lined up, faded, cleaned up and trimmed here and I highly recommend it. If you are looking to get a hair cut at a new place, this is it. They're family now. read more

I never review but this place charged $30 for a regular mid fade and it is easily top 3 worst fades I've ever got. Only reason I got it here was because I needed a cut asap and couldn't wait for an appointment elsewhere. Well came since it's Thursday and was told they changed their policy and they do appts on Thursday and Friday and that they didn't have time. I told them their phone still said Friday only and he didn't know or care? They should update that they ONLY take appointments on Thursdays and Fridays on their phone too not just their door. Usually I get my cut with Cena. But the wait for him is quite long if you get there after 1pm. So I sat with Manny. He listened to how I wanted to cut my hair and even gave me some options that really made my hair cut even better! Dude takes his time and makes sure it's done right. The cut never feels rushed! I checked out this place based on the reviews. I'm so glad I did. My son 7yrs has had a faux hawk since he was a baby. And recently he's wanted to try new versions of it. Today we stopped in and were blown away by the talent and great staff. My son got his faux hawk but added more dimension to the back it's like a faux ducktail and they added some line designs on the side. My description is pretty bad, but the cut took less that 30min the place was low key and chill. My son can't stop starring at his cut he loves it and so do I!! The price was awesome paid about $15 including tip. Usually I pay way more at super cuts trying to get a similar cut ( usually not even close to this good ) Tip- bring cash if you forget there's a liquor store across the street with an ATM. Go Go Go!! One of the best barbershops in East Los Angeles. In recently bought a house and moved to West Covina and still find my way back to this shop. The staff is wonderful and the prices are surprisingly affordable based on the work they do. Love the Appt system, wish it can be added to Saturday's (something to consider). I liked the place. Fair prices. My son's barber just started working here so we followed. They were very welcoming and professional. The interior is very well kept for an up and coming place. Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was the loud music thats on nonstop. Gave me a headache. The part that disturbed me though was not the headache. The music that is being played has no filter. From Fuck, to pussy, to bitch was blasted throughout song after song. Having my 7 year old son ask me why he heard so many bad words is what disturbed me. I applaud LA City Clips for being different and definitely turning the table on what the typical barbershop should be, but it would be nice if you could appreciate that your customers dont only consist of adults. Worst service ever. Went in to get my friend's son's haircut. We walked in, not one of the three workers greeted us, said hello, smirked, nodded their head, told us to sign in, nothing. ALL of them saw us walk in. After waiting an hour in their busted couch that has holes in it. When It was her sons turn,the female worker, walks to the black guy, whispered to him, and he tells us that she is leaving, that he was on his last cut and the other mexican guy w/bug eyes has one more appointment, mind you according to the door and Yelp, they close at 7 (another 1hour 15mins) Rude ass service.
