Amazing Dentist here! I am naturally scared of Dentist, however Dr. N relaxes me so much. I trust her, and I do not trust dentists. I'm in my 50's; my entire life I have been frightened by dentists as it's never been a good experience....that is until I met Dr. N! She is the most gentle dentist I've ever had. Going to see her is never a "painful" experience when I get work done. She is an expert of experts, and she knows how to make sure your visit is a good experience no matter what work she needs to do to you. The type of care you get from Dr. N is phenomenal, thoughtful, gentle, and a lot of TLC. I feel the quality of care is above average. I actually can say I and my family have pleasant experiences here. Once you come here, I strongly feel you will search no more for another dentist. Dr. N is the only dentist you need. I and my big family have been a patient of Dr. N now for nearly 20 years. Dr. N's knowledge of current procedures is expected because she is always furthering her education. Dr. N stays current in all the new/high-tech inventions and uses them when needed for her patients. Had an appointment this week at First Street in Benicia today, and it was an experience I won't forget. Arrived right on time, but the door was locked. I called the office, and it turns out the receptionist was inside, not paying attention to either the opening time or my scheduled appointment. When I finally got in to sign paperwork, she was literally licking her fingers to surf through the pages before handing it to me--gross! No gloves or anything! Then the other receptionist, who answered my call earlier, came in, and both were just rude and unprofessional. I decided to walk out, and funny enough, they never bothered to call me back. Consumer beware!!!!! Before I start my review please please verify with your insurance before spending a dime at this place. They will try to cheat you. So I was recommended by my insurance this location for all my dental needs. Originally I found this place charming the original person I spoke to was very nice she seemed very kind. I called back because I received a confirmation text with a couple of mistakes so I wanted to fix it. Later during the conversation cost came up about the fillings. This new lady was trying to charge me 800 per tooth for gold or porcelain filling. And that was the co pay price lol... This person was even talking about how I picked the wrong insurance and plan. Lol. I knew better and confirmed everything with my insurance. She was trying to con me. My co pay should be for a filling depending for how many surfaces from 1-4 from 30 40 50 and 70 dollars. Incompetent, unprofessional. When I signed up as a first time patient, I told them that I wanted to get a cleaning. Turns out they don't do cleanings for new patients because they want to do an Xray and exam, which they conveniently forgot to mention at the time of my call. I finally went in for a deep cleaning, haven't been to a dentist in quite some time. I was seen promptly, no wait time. Dr. Edalati was really helpful and took care of my teeth. She was gentle and patient, checked in with me often to make sure I felt comfortable with any pain. She also gave me some good tips, gargling salt water as a replacement to mouthwash if you don't have any and often times I run out. I was recommended a Waterpik cause flossing hurts my teeth and it works wonders! I'm glad to have Dr. Edalati as my dentist read more

Zero stars. I just returned to my favorite dentist. All of the work that north bay told me needed to be done were false. She said I needed an extraction, replacement of all my crowns, and had a cavity. I found out that EVERYTHING she said I had going on was not true. No cavities at all, crowns are fine, no extraction needed. They are a scam. Trying to milk the insurance company by doing unnecessary work on people's mouths. Reading some of these reviews...wow. Your mouths are rotting, and no amount of free cleanings will fix it. Here's some pertinent info I now know having dated a dental hygienist: **It is borderline unethical for a dentist to continue giving someone basic cleanings, while letting the cesspool of disease and decay continue to grow underneath. The cleanings won't help.** Yep. Google it. It's like paying for your car to be washed, except that you had to tow it there because you refuse to pay to have the engine repaired. But go ahead and keep second-guessing an actual doctor in regards to what is necessary for your health. Keep asking for those free cleanings (yeah, my insurance offers free cleanings twice a year, too), argue with the entire office aloud while I'm in the exam room next door trying to escape the awkwardness, and let the gum disease and cavities rot your mouths. That's your choice. Just please don't sit next to me on BART unless you plan on not breathing. Dr. Edalati has been my dentist since college, and she'll be my dentist until the day she retires. That's when I'll have to begin the crappy process of finding another dentist who is actually good at what they do and also gives me a bit of a Patch Adams vibe (RIP Robin Williams). Vallejo Dental Associates is the worst dental office I have ever been associated with. In all of my years of having dental work, I have never been treated so discourteous and disrespectfully. The dental assistants/clerks are giving out medical advice without supervision. Their poor customer service is surprisingly horrible. If you are going to make an appointment be sure that you make it in person because their support system apparently forgot about my appointment and refuse adequately remedy the matter. Instead, I was told to find another dentist after a medical clerk suggested that it was a violation of OSHA laws to have a cleaning (in which they had previously performed under the same conditions). In short, I would not take my dog to have dental service with these incompetents. They should be investigated for malpractice. read more

My family and I have been with Dr. Nazila and her assistant Neri(sp?) forever! Never been disappointed with them. They work around my schedule from Monday to Saturday, whenever is convenient for me to come in! Never had a problem with them or my insurance. I recently moved away from Vallejo but I still come here. They take care of me very well every single time I come in, even for a simple check up! I was assigned to this dentist and had an appointment about a month ago. I never actually got to see the dentist. The receptionist sat me down for xrays and the phone rang so she ran to answer the phone and I sat there while she talked to someone. During my xray appointment she ran off to talk on the phone a few more times which I consider very unprofessional and just plain rude. My appointment ended up taking over an hour just for xrays. She said I have a bunch of cavities and that the dentist will review my xrays and call me for an appointment the next day. That never happened. The other reason the appointment took so long was that she was training another receptionist so I tried to be patient but I felt that they were both unprofessional. They took forever to create my chart/folder. They had a hard time figuring out my insurance and then told me that I have terrible insurance and I should come back another day so they can help me sign up for METLIFE. A week went by and no one called me about my xrays, so I called the office. They put me on hold so they could look for my chart. After waiting on hold they got back on to say they could not find my chart and they'd call me back when they find it. Another week goes by and no one calls. I've since called at least 5 times and every time they make an excuse and say someone will call me back. No one ever calls me back. It should not be this hard to get answers. I'm ready now to move on and find a different office. I'm the most patient person but I've officially lost patience with these unprofessional people. read more

Dr. Edalati is an amazing dentist that cares for her patients. I must say, she is the first dentist that I've gone to since i was a kid. She tells it like it is and does not sugar coat things so that people understand what they're dealing with (dental wise) I had my first ever root canal in my life and she made the experience manageable. This might be the worst dentist I have ever been to. I've been going here for 15 years and just now transitioned to Picket dental. I have atleast FIVE cavities, not because I do not brush/floss correctly, but because this dentist did not fill ANY cavities correctly. As Steve was filling my teeth, he noticed several mistakes in the recent cleanings and fillings. Plaque has built up for TWO years when my last cleaning at Vallejo dental was only ONE year ago. Not only did they do a crappy job, but they charged me $90 per cavity. This is THEIR WAY, we have insurance which should make this $12... But they REFUSE to take that insurance because "it isn't covered". Please, if you need a dentist that will do a great job and is worth your money, Find a different dentist. read more

Dentist has very poor bedside manner. Is it really that hard to crack a smile? Seems like she hates her job, which would mean she wouldn't care much if she hurt you or not. Not good. One guy was holding his mouth and when asked to make a follow up appointment, he practically ran out saying he'd never come back. Neither am I. I waited an hour and was seen for 20 minutes. Nope, they didn't clean my teeth either. Was supposed to call and reschedule just do that. Never called. Why not clean the teeth while I am there? Isn't that standard practice? Guess not. Biggest waste of my time!! Worst dentist I've ever been to. First off I had to wait like 45mins. for my teeth cleaning appt. then I get moved to the X-Ray room where the XRay lady either don't know what she's doing or their equipment was too old, honestly I think both. She kept having me bite down on this stupid device to take the pictures however it ended up scraping my gums to the point I couldn't bite down any further, instead she got frustrated with me because the pics were coming out blurry. Then after a good 30mins of X-ray pics another lady come in look at the pics and tells me the first appt is for X-Rays and then by law they have to schedule a different appt for the cleaning. Mind you, the appt was for a cleaning!!! Why didn't they tell me this over the phone. The lady start making all kinds of excuses after that, first she tells me they can't do x-rays and a cleaning in the same day, then she said I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled before a cleaning, then she said she have to send my x-rays to my insurance and they'll decide if I can get them cleaned before my wisdom teeth gets pulled. Then I thought about how the receptionist said some people called in when he apologized to me for the wait, which made me think they just didn't want to help me today, maybe because it was lunch hour idk. Bottomline is This office sucks never going there again wish I could have gave them no stars. P.S. Over the past few months I have been getting much needed dental work that I put off for years. Dr. Nazila is very gentle. I even fell asleep during a root canal & we laughed about it. Not a well run practice. Waited for more than an hour before been seen, had a follow up appointment scheduled for 2 weeks after that, only to receive a call from them 2 days before the appointment to cancel. Their reschedule suggestion was 2 more weeks away. During this call they also informed me there would be additional work to be done for hundreds of dollars more. Work that was never mentioned when the first appointment was set. I will not write about the medical expertise of the doctors, as I am not a medical reviewer, but if you think a business, any business, needs to consider their customers first and foremost, and not insult their intelligence, then I suggest you look elsewhere. I find that Vallejo Dental Assoc. provides excellent service and care. The staff members, especially Neri Summer, are very friendly and efficient. I have been going to this clinic for eight years now and find the people warm and accommodating. Their location is so convenient. Three years ago when my old and ailing husband was still alive, I left him there on a wheelchair to have his teeth cleaned while I went shopping for groceries. When they were done with him, one of the staff members went out to look for me in the store to tell me I could then take him home. Such service! very disappointed with work. Substandard quality, Lack of Integrity I became a patient of Dr. Edalati based upon a recommendation and this by far was the worst dentist in my life. She is the actual owner of the business. The second time that I was visiting the office, Dr. Edalati worked on what should have been a very simple cavity procedure. She told me that the cavity was small and not very deep (detected on x-rays). Unfortunatley, Dr. Edalati did not fill this tooth properly leaving a space between the tooth and the filling resulting in extreme discomfort and sensitivity. I had to make another appointment so Dr. Edalati can fix the mistake that she had made. During the second visit, Dr. Edalati said that another cavity was spotted on a different tooth on the same side and that it would be a good oportunity to fix the second tooth since I was already numb in that area. I agreed thinking that first mistake she made was just a mistake and that it can happen from time to time. After Dr. Edalati fixed the mistake she made on the initial tooth, she filled the cavity on the second tooth. After the numbness wore off, I was in extreme pain. The pain was so sharp and excruiating that I had to see Dr. Edalati see the next day. X-rays revealed that the filling that Dr. Edalati had done on the second tooth has cracked, which was the cause of the intense pain. On top of all this, Dr. Edalati claimed that I had 5 other cavities. She had not even done a proper examination of my teeth. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and they strongly disagreed. I'm sorry to have to say this, but the lack of integrity and competence in this doctor and dental office my opinion is staggering. read more

Some of these reviews are clearly false. Dr. Edalati is a fine dentist. I am fortunate to have found her. She has taken exemplary care of me. Not only is she a fine dentist but she is a wonderful person, kind, caring, funny, and thoughtful. She has stayed late and come in on Saturdays multiple times to meet my needs. She clearly loves her work and takes very good care of her patients. Her staff is the same. They are all very professional and kind.I am moving to Oakland in the fall but will return to Vallejo for dental work. Now that I know her, I cannot see going to any other dentist.
