The staff was beyond friendly, and the wait time to get seated was almost nonexistent. Once we were seated, we were given drinks, chips, and salsa. Hands down best food! We are from CA and we eat a lot of Mexican food and are picky af and La Cocina de Eva surpasses all CA local eateries. We were in town for 2 nights and ate here 2x. Their poblano rellano is bomb af and my husband enjoyed their tacos and taquitos. Their chips and salsa are perfect as well--in fact it's a good thing we don't live in the area because we would eat here far too often lol. STOP here - you won't regret it! Also we love love their love for Jesus and while it's a part of their restaurant they are not aggressive about it - thank you La Cocina de Eva! We will be back for sure! read more

Been here a lot and have never had a bad experience. We LOVE the carnitas. I always get the carnitas chimi or a red or green chili con carne chimi. If you like the chili relleno then ask for "el ratón". They make the chili relleno look like a little rat. Haha. It's great! read more

Very good food, but 9 dollars for 3 tortillas! For that we should have gotten extra meat and fixings. Then, they charge 10 dollars for sour cream and guacamole! We had four different servers. Food took over an hour to get, the food was good, but not that good! Very disappointed in the costs of everything and then "hidden" charges that they do not tell you. Our 22 dollar fajitas cost us 31 dollars. We were not that hungry and just wanted to split something. Cheese crips were cold when brought out and not even cut. What a mess that as to try and split between 9 people. I'm surprised they didn't charge extra to have the cheese crisp shared. We will not be going back, they have God all over the restaurant, but they have no trouble stealing for you! Would not recommend! Next time we will get two steaks for the price it cost us here. Went here tonight for dinner for my sons 7th birthday. Food was great. However when they brought out his birthday dessert they took a spoon full of whip cream and smeared it on his face. He was super freaked out, and didn't know how to react. It was slightly funny at first untill seeing how he responded. I didn't appreciate how nervous and taken back he was by the whip cream on his face. especially considering you never know how a kid or even adult would respond. La Cocina De Eva is the real deal for Mexican food! I've been very fortunate to eat some really good Mexican food over the years and this restaurant delivers. First, the salsa was delicious, about as good as it gets. A little sweet, a little tangy and a perfect amount of cilantro flavor. I ordered beef fajitas which were perfectly seasoned and cooked and came with a ton of veggies, which I love. The rice, beans and guacamole were all on point. My wife ordered some shredded beef dish and it was just as good as the fajitas. If we hadn't been traveling, I would have tried a margarita. Awesome Mexican food in a very cute and casual setting! We tried this local favorite at the recommendation of our cousins. We were in town for the Taylor/Snowflake Pioneer Celebration weekend, so the town was packed. But we had no wait when we got into this place. It looks small from the outside, but it actually has a very large dining area. We grown ups ordered the taco salads, since we were craving veggies, but our oldest son ordered the green chile enchilada style burrito, and it was great, big portion, too. La Cocina de Eva was there for us when nobody else was (and by that I mean they were willing to accommodate our ever-changing group size and at a "late" hour and served us some great food quickly). Snowflake is a small town, places close early. Me and my crew had worked all day and were extremely tired and hungry. After looking and asking around, we found La Cocina de Eva, which is open later than most restaurants in Snowflake. We called them to see if they could accommodate our large group and they did so with a smile. Long story short, our large group ended up being three people. We felt terrible since they had set up a big table for all of us, but they were honestly so friendly about it all that it made us feel a lot better. Anyway, to the food! The food here is pretty good. Not my absolute favorite Mexican I've had in my life (hard to compete with Tucson Mexican food!) but still delicious! I would eat here again for sure, no complaints. Each of us had different dietary needs and, once again, the staff was happy to help us. Service was quick and, I must reiterate, friendly. This is a family business and it feels like it. When we first came in, there was a daughter with her dad celebrating her birthday. One of the waitresses was singing "happy birthday" to her in a beautiful voice. When she finished, she gave the girl a big hug and some desert. It looked as though this dad and daughter had eaten here before, and the waitress genuinely cared about her birthday. It was such a sweet thing to witness. Anyway, I would love to give a big thanks to La Cocina de Eva for saving us that night. We needed a good, warm meal and they made us feel at home. We were there last June, and again last week. Good chips and salsa, friendly service -a little too religious if you ask me, but that has nothing to do with the food and the service : ) Hubby had the dish similar to pollo fundido both times -it is called pollo especial, I think... it was good. Our friend had a burger and I had a bowl of chile verde with meat. The chile sauce didn't look green, but it had pieces of green chile. It looked almost the color of refried beans... It was tasty but too thick... which it is OK taste wise, but I would rather keep it low carb and that dish must have had a lot of flour. She was not lying, but it was much more than just good Mexican food. what really made this a standout restaurant was that it was amazing customer service, the food got delivered super quick, and the staff was beyond amazing! Great hometown feel, and at the same time the food was delicious! I had the polo a special, and that was pretty good it's like a fancy chimichanga, and I also had the beef enchilada. they did a great job with both, and although I would have liked to have some spice your chili, they do have a spicy chili you can order on the side, so again all around great experience, just know they do not have a beer or wine menu, so I definitely understand, but that would have just been the icing on the cake! Eva's has the best Mexican Food we have ever had, anywhere. It is always fresh, cooked to perfection, and served at the proper temperature. The prices are very reasonable and the servings are bountiful. My husband and I usually manage to go there 2 to 3 times a month. In other words, it is our "go to" place to eat. When I had to go to Oregon last summer, I was teasing Eva that someone needed to feed my sweetie. Eva said to have him come in and they would fix him breakfast. He went in one day while I was gone and he said they fixed him the best bacon and eggs ever, even though there is no breakfast menu. He said the price was reasonable to boot. read more
