We stopped for lunch and this was definitely one of the better Mexican place up here. They started us with chips and salsa. The salsa is homemade and tasted great, asked for another bowl for my taco and tostadas. Servers we friendly and worked together quickly. The seating was nice and quick. Definite coming back.

Chips and salsa are incredible! Loved my tortilla soup, so flavorful! Red pork tamales were another favorite at our table. Service was so great! All employees were friendly and attentive. My husband went and paid the bill without looking through the receipt and I was baffled when he told me it was $140 with tip for 5 of us. We did get 4 Pepsis and shared fried ice cream (highly recommend), but prices are a little steep for Mexican food and not sure if we'd go again because of that.

For opening day I think they did a wonderful job! We tried few Mexican dishes, and they were all nicely presented and quite tasty. The veggie cheese crispy was massive and delicious. The salsa and the extra hot salsa were extremely good I would go back there just for the salsas. I will say they might think about editing some of their menu as it overwhelmingly extensive covering both Mexican and American dishes but to the point where it almost seems too much. We're looking forward to going back and trying their breakfast soon. It's always nice to see it a new restaurant on the mountain even if it is part of our ever growing Mexican majority of restaurants. The interior was nice although they are still doing some little last minute repairs and whatnot. But that's to be expected.

My husband and I stopped by for a snack and shared the Navajo taco. They had vegetarian red sauce…read moreavailable and we asked to leave off the cheese. Their beans were delicious here- super flavorful. They do not use lard in the restaurant and the beans were vegetarian and vegan. The red sauce was ok- wasn't as strong of a red chili sauce as I had hoped. The frybread tasted to me like it might be from a mix and wasn't the best I have had but it did stay crispy and good texture with everything on it and all in all it was flavorful and enjoyable. I think the beans made this dish. The table salsa was very mild for us but had a good fresh flavor. They brought us an additional hot salsa which had great spice but less fresh flavor- mixed both of those together we found the salsa we wanted! Seemed like one of the owners confused vegetarian with gluten free at first. Their horchata is made by Pepsi, not housemade. Their Sopapillas are made with the same batter they make their frybread. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
