The foam on their espresso drink is tight and flavorful and nothing like the dirty dishwater you get at Starbucks. The draft latte is simply an inspirational creation whose only downside may be the instant addiction it creates after the first cold and smooth sip. The food is excellent while having a selection that is both familiar and new. To those who complained based on the seating for patrons. This is a high end coffee shop not a communal workspace that allows you to act like a squatter all day long because you paid $3 for a coffee. If you you need to spend 3 hours on your laptop go rent an office or go to the excellent public library that is just down the street. Your coffee shop as an office has either ruined a chance at having a decent seat at other coffee shops or forced establishments like La Colombe to take steps to ensure that you don't ruin their business by driving away paying customers. Great coffee environment, good pour over coffee and excellent latte's. There is a parking lot to the side and metered parking out front with free 10 minutes at each meter. Many people complained of the lack of free internet but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is actually an Xfinity hotspot which gives you free WIFI if you are a comcast internet subscriber. read more

I was very excited to learn that a coffee shop would come to the main line. There has not been anywhere to get decent espresso for about 10 square miles since I moved here 8 years ago. I tried to order coffee 3 times at La Colombe. In general I order a short latte (aka 8oz), decaf. This is because no one in this region seems to know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte. The 2nd time, I visited La Colombe, the person taking my order just...took my order, and the barista made a delicious latte. The coffee-milk ratio was perfect. The first, and the last time I visited, the person taking my order immediately informed me that drinks don't come in 8oz volumes. I HAD to have a 12 oz drink. I had to plead back-and-forth to please ask the barista to only pour to 8oz. Today the barista poured me only the 8 ounces, but forgot the decaf part of the order. The milk-coffee ratio was not right, I could barely taste the coffee. La Colombe is not worth the gigantic effort. read more

Finally a good Americano on the mainline! I have been working in this area for over four years and have yet to have a good Americano until today! There is no WiFi, but for someone like me who uses this place for a lunch break coffee and snack, I enjoyed that there was actually a space to sit and enjoy my break. At places like green engine down the street, there is never a place to sit, and the coffee isn't nearly as good, so it's a win win (not to mention, green engine's wifi never works anyway). One thing I miss from my 10 years living in DC was the amazing coffee shops that popped up - all close by wth fantastic coffee and pastry. I lived close to the first LC and went often (too often...$$). It was perfect from the decor to the generally friendly service to the absolutely delicious pastries. I had high hopes for the Bryn Mawr location. Unfortunately, it's very different - $3 for iced coffee, boring pastries, and indifferent service. When I am nearby, I sometimes go. I wish I could convince some of their DC competition to open here, but for now, the best we've got in the burbs is Green Engine and LC, both with uncomfortable seating for meeting a friend for coffee. Good latte on draft. I enjoy the iced tea which they really only have one flavor, black. The sandwiches are good, although they usually run out by the early afternoon. The iced coffee late, croissants and pain au chocolat were really good but the hot chocolate was really tasteless and when we complained it was not good we were just told to add sugar!!!? I think the decor while looking good and contemporary is not cosy and the seats are very uncomfortable. The layout is weird and you cannot seat too many people in this huge space. Finally, I really did not appreciate that when you pay with a credit card you are forced to leave a tip as on the iPad were you leave your signature after paying they give you the option of leaving a tip for 15, 20 or 25 percent when there is no table service and you even have to clear your own table!!! I say this without hyperbole -- the draft cold brew coffees (Pure Black, Draft Latte, Black and Tan) are among the best beverages I've ever had of any sort (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Candidly, this location isn't one of the best La Colombe cafes around. It's new, the seats are uncomfortable, the staff is inexperienced, there is no wi-fi. All of that just doesn't matter in the end. I fly all over for work, both domestically and internationally, and the quality of the coffee and the taste of the draft coffees especially is simply unparalleled. Hands down the best coffee spot on the Main Line. The baristas are friendly and quick. They have a great system and the coffee is dang good. I bring in a reusable cup which makes the cost per cup even less than the competitors. The to go salads are brought in freshly made around 10 a.m. The grain salad is my fav and my husband's is the roasted carrots and hummus. The vibe is what brings me back almost every day. I've been here twice and they've screwed up my order twice. First time I ordered a large hot coffee and they gave me a small. Normally I wouldn't give two craps, but when I'm paying a premium for their coffee-I expect to get what I pay for. Second time, I ordered iced coffee and they gave me iced tea. Slight oversight. Hot coffee is great, iced tea was phenomenal, iced coffee tasted like battery acid. I meet friends regularly in Bryn Mawr and we were excited about a new coffee house. I was first to arrive, went inside, and was disappointed by the lack of seating. The have some tables along the window (all were occupied) but in the middle of the room are these benches that look like they belong in a train station. I did not want to have to sit with my 3 friends all in a row, or sit back-to-back with them. After standing in line for 15 minutes(Saturday morning,no big deal- in the grand scheme) the barista looked annoyed when I ordered a draft latte with iced coffee. Then as I am waiting- another barista spilled hot coffee over the counter- onto my shirt and shorts. Accidents happen but I didn't even get a "sorry" I asked for a rag of some sort and he handed me the dirty towel they use to clean the machine(which was covered in coffee).
