I have eaten here several times I think they do a great job. Today I got a chicken burrito with cheese, peppers and onions. What I like about these guys is the value as my meal for $15 also included fried rice and beans, guacamole, and sour cream plus bag of chips and salsa at no extra charge. Portions are generous. Kind of interesting to have a Mexican testuraunt in a chrome diner setting but it works! It's really cute and comfortable inside. Decor is welcoming. Good food. All great choices. We were in the area and ask a couple locals where to get some good Mexican food. Three people recommended La Corona. The silver stainless steel exterior reminded us of the old retro diners. It was very clean and inviting both inside and out. The food was just ok. The complimentary salsa and chips lacked any kick. We ordered a steak and a chicken fajita with corn wraps. The food came out very quickly and it was sizzling hot on the metal plates. The vegetables and meats were cooked well but neither dish had any flavor or spices. Very bland and disappointing. We asked the waitress if there were any sauces that could be added to the entrees and she said no. The food here is below average in comparison to other Mexican restaurants I have visited over the years. There is a new Mexican Restaurant that just opened across the street from La Corona. As soon As we walked through the door to go to bar we were greeted and asked if we needed menus. As we were sitting down a lady from the back brought us chips and salsa. And simultaneously bartender was asking what we wanted for drinks before we even settled down into our seats. Resteraunt wasn't packed or super busy but there was good amount of customers everywhere on this Saturday night. Me and my wife dont get out much, maybe once a month, but the service was so good that it really surprised me. When we go out my wife always get steak dinner. This is why I just downloaded this app for first review I've ever done. She said it was the best steak she might have ever had. And that this is our new place to go to. I won't mention all the other places we have been but they were all nice dinner establishments. I think she got steak and shrimp something. I got the corona #2 and picked beef burrito / and pork enchilada . Which was really damn good. The rice was also on point. The drinks were healthy portion. And to top off the whole experience the owner came out to ask how everything was when we were about to call it a night. We stopped by La Corona for lunch and really enjoyed everything we had. The grilled chicken torta was excellent and you get fries with the sandwich as well. The fries are sooooo very good! My guest had the grilled chicken tacos and she loved 'em. I think I read one review complaining about the salsa...I agree, very watery and lacking taste. Aside from that, the service was spot on and the atmosphere was comfortable. I will definitely be back and will try the tortilla soup, an all time favorite of mine. After my first (terrible) experience here 3 years ago, we finally decided to try La Corona again last night. Due to Covid-19 all orders are take out, we called and ordered two fajita steak quesadillas, shredded chicken taquitos, and the chile con queso dip. When we arrived, we called to let them know we were there, food came out quickly delivered by a very friendly older gentleman. The quesadillas were delicious, steak was cooked perfectly and it was very tender. The shredded chicken taquitos were ok, a little bland and very dry, but they weren't horrible. The star of the whole meal was the con queso dip, absolutely delicious! Although the food was good, I won't be rushing back any time soon, but it's nice to know that they've stepped up their food game since the last time we visited. read more

Having visited La Corona dozens of times over the past decade, the food and service are consistently very good. Don't take it from me, though, my Mexican-American daughter in law from AZ gives it a thumbs up, and she knows how it should be done. Best chips and salsa! but the quesadillas we got were pretty plain. We got the veggie garden and veggie fajita style which was literally just cheese and chunks of veggies no seasonings or sauces and the tortillas were plain and dry. The service was also good tho, very nice. read more

Takeout is satisfactory but the atmosphere in this restaurant is awesome, if you couldn't tell from the outside. The music greets you when you come in, the decor is fascinating, every detail from the cups to the plates are enjoyable. And then the service is just especially noteworthy, some of the best Iv experienced. Very friendly while being equally professional, not intrusive but attentive. La Corona was the only 'sit down' restaurant that we found that was still open. My BF had eaten there years ago and said the food was great. He was right! The food was excellent and the portions were ample! The prices on food and drinks were much lower than expected, which is always a nice surprise. From the outside it looks like a dinner, but the inside is a very nice 'sit down' style Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly.
