I came to this restaurant for dinner during a recent trip to New Hampshire. It's a very good restaurant and they serve steaks, seafood, chicken and barbecue dishes as well as appetizers, salads and soups. I ordered their steak tips which I really enjoyed and it came with two sides so I got the mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables as my sides. The steak tips were cooked exactly to my liking and the side dishes were tasty as well. The dining area was quiet and the seating was comfortable. Very good dining atmosphere. There was plenty of parking in their spacious parking lot so there was no issue with parking. The service was friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place to others. read more

Eater beware. My husband and I always enjoyed their seafood. We feel it's better than The Windjammer, Jimmy Johns or any other restaurant near to us. Hands down. Even the waitesses we enjoy. HOWEVER, we were shocked beyond words to find out their clam dinner, with bellies, is about $15 more than the restaurants around here on average. I looked it up. We paid $45 for a clam plate, no appetizer, no desert. They do give you a little loaf of bread, a veggie and another side. The only thing that's different is the size of the bread anywhere else. Was on our way home from a Long weekend in the mountains and were starving and didnt want Taco Bell or McDonalds, so we took a shot and stopped in here. Were seated right away (Sunday afternoon) staff and everyone was super friendly, Menu is extensive, Lots of options. Ordered some Mushrooms for an app (they were DELISH!!!) I ordered a sandwich and the SIL ordered Pork Chops - the sandwich was better than expected but just good!! The Pork chops were severely undercooked and pink and after sending them back they came back the same way (still under cooked) waitress and manager both were overly apologetic and it was cool, the sides were great and the service was super fast. Might stop in again on another trip up and try something different to get a better feel on how things are here. The atmosphere was relaxed and the wait staff was great. The food was amazing. Rick opted for baked haddock (which was light and flaky) with baked potato and apple sauce and I had chicken Marsala. My Shrimp Scampi (small size) was ample with lots of shrimp. And my French Onion soup was excellent. We were seated in one of the side rooms at a comfortable booth with windows. Been here once myself and that was enough. Food was awful cheap Sysco pub food. Service was kind and friendly so can't ding them there at all - the girl was delightful and attentive. The inside is bench seats from whatever decade long ago and just feels old and unkept. I'm a local and this isn't even an option discussed when friends eat out. We went in for Valentine's Day. Wife had prime rib with haddock nuggets. Prime rib was tough haddock nuggets were cold and dry. I had the Delmonico steak which was extremely tasty but also tough and a fair amount of grizzle. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer; they were fantastic. Vegetable of the day had run out So they served canned peas and carrots which were an extreme disappointment. Canned peas are horrible. They were also cold. Baked potato was fine and mashed potatoes were fine. I'm giving four stars which is a little generous for the $95 meal. We got right in around 4:15 PM, but shortly after there was a long line. This might be our new go-to. We loved everything about it. They have a decent beer list, and I liked that she asked if we wanted bread and butter, instead of assuming. The service was just like it should be, she did all the right things in the right order. The food came out in a very reasonable time, and everything was delicious. I had a special order - the dragon steak on a salad, and my husband had the strip steak. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. There are many sides to choose from, he chose red skinned mashed potatoes and they were really good. They have a lot of different kinds of salad dressings too, and I love all the different sizes of prime rib you can get, starting at 8 oz. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, and I think the total bill for everything we got was extremely reasonable. I have been going to the Granite Steak & Grill for a couple of years now. I have become quite a fan of this restaurant, and find myself going back whenever I get the chance. The restaurant physically is fairly decent. Decor is alright, although I personally would love to see it updated a bit. They offer both tables and booths which is great if you have a preference. If the restaurant is busy, it can be sort of loud inside, however they do play music which does help drown out some of the chatter. The outside parking area is probably my least favorite part about the restaurant. It is a semi shared parking lot with a neighboring motel. The parking lot fills up very quickly on busy days / times. The food is always great when I visit. I have never had any issues. They offer light fares and dinner fares, so depending on how hungry you are, you are sure to get a portion that works for you. I tend to buy the dinner fare, and bring home any leftovers. The meals are very "homey" feeling, and have that Mom and Pop diner kind of feel. They offer a great menu selection, and have many sides to choose from which I appreciate. They do have a 55+ senior section, and all of the senior options include a non alcoholic beverage and dessert. I won't lie, it makes me wish I was 55 or older just to order from that part of the menu haha! Overall the food get's a 4 out of 5 stars from me. The staff at the front of house are always very fast and greeting you, and getting you seated. The wait staff takes your order quickly, are friendly, and are attentive to their patrons. If you do dine here, when the check comes be sure to fill out a survey that is included with your bill. We had friends take us out for lunch (aren't they so sweet?). This is where they wanted to take us. I wasn't sure what to expect, I'm pretty weary about steakhouses because it's steak. The cost is always high but if it's not done right, then it's not worth the money. I, however, was not paying, so on we went. Haha Everything our party ordered was pretty good. My husband got Prime rib which was amazing. I actually ordered the California Turkey Burger (I'm kind of obsessed with avocado AND reduced balmsamic and this had both). A friends fish was under cooked. She wouldn't send it back and insisted she'd finish cooking it at home ‍ And they offered a side for "peas and carrots", which is gross. Worse yet, the waitress said they're frozen not fresh. Blech. I liked the decor. It's dark green walls and dark wood. A bit dated, but cozy and clean. (If you read any of my other reviews, this is important to me and mention cleanliness if I see it! Lol) Our waitress, Courtney, was wonderful. Dinner was ok. Service was ok. Ordered soup for an app and it was coming with dinner and my salad until we said something. We arrived at 8 on a Saturday night. It must have been that time of night when servers start getting sent home. As each of them did their side work it clearly included "vacuuming" their section. We went here for mother's Day. We ordered the fish and chips senior special. I could not believe how wonderfully done the fish was. It was a huge filet and I mean it went over the sides of the plate. Everything was done to perfection. The onion rings were to die for. The portion was so huge I thought they made a mistake on our order because we had ordered the senior menu but no. It even came with the dessert and I ordered ice cream. The waitress asked if I wanted anything on it and I said sure hot chocolate and whipped cream. I love this place & always WILL love this place! I have done a review for Smokey's Tavern downstairs which I also love. This restaurant has been a family favorite for birthday dinner celebrations, a meeting spot for lunch or just to have a bite to eat. The waitstaff are all wonderful & seem like they are happy to be there. I can't say that anything is really fancy or out of this world as far as the menu items, but I can say that everything is made well. They offer a "lite fare" part to their menu which I generally go for. Their menu is actually pretty huge; there is something for everyone on it! I don't know if it is a menu item any longer, but one thing I loved to order was an ahi tuna salad with a wasabi ranch dressing. read more
