I was super to find out they made a second location in Peoria because I stay in the west valley which is closer to me. I have been to the first location which is in Mesa. I would say this is my favorite crab shack place in Arizona. I used to like another restaurant but the quality of the food is better here. We ordered the raw oysters, Cajun fries, fried clams, one pound of mussels, and one pound of shrimp. We wanted the raw mussels but they informed us that because of the heat they were not good so they offered us the frozen mussels instead in which we were okay with. I personally got the mild shrimp with head on and it was tasty. We thought the house sauce would have more Cajun flavor but it didn't but it was still very good. I would say my favorite was the raw oysters and Cajun fries. We came on a weekday so they had happy hour which was nice. The space is big and was not busy at all when we came. I waited for a long time for LA Crab Shack in Peoria to finally open up! I must say, I've been to all of the crab boils around the valley and comfortable to say, this place is my favorite one! The price is actually not too bad and less than most places! My friend and I ordered 6 blue crabs 2 pounds of shrimp, 2 pounds of crawfish, 2 potatoes, 2 eggs, two corns and 2 sausages. The print came out to be about $80 which I think it's a killer deal. What makes it amazing is that their house flavor, spice level hot, made everything tasted better! Anybody can make shrimp. But it's all about the flavor of the sauce and I believe this LA Crab Shake has the flavor! I will definitely be coming here more often since I live down the street! I was recommended to check out the Peoria location of LA Crab Shack by a friend and was not left disappointed :) There are many different menu items to choose from, but decided to play it safe with a good ole' crab/shrimp boil with sausage, corn, and don't forget the rice! Cali-Cajun medium had such a refreshing, tangy flavor that complemented the shrimp AND my Hurricane, mmmm The server suggested we try their new steamed seafood option, so we decided on green lipped mussels and .... WOW! The mussels were plump--very different texture than I'm use to (good). The menu had a coconut steamed(?) option, so I'm curious to try that next time. The restaurant decor is IMMACULATE! Very open floor plan and cute lil barrel lamps. To top it off, the service was prompt and helpful. Although the large menu is a bit intimidating, the server guided me through the steps + gave her own lil tips on what to order! Ordered takeout, the choose your own (snow crab, potatoes, corn, sausage, garlic/lemon pepper flavor, hot spice) the flavor was amazing and everything was tender and juicy. I also ordered Cajun fries that were good as well. I didnt know seafood could taste and smell too fishy but that's what happened here. Very overwhelming fishy smell that ruined my appetite. The service was okay but we had to correct two orders from the kitchen and had to request gloves and utensils for the entire party. I usually go to angry crab but was convinced by friends to try this place out it it's a big waste of money. Just go to angry crab. you'll have a better experience. I ordered 3lbs live crawfish & 1lb of shrimp, half dozen of raw oyster last weekend. Their raw oysters are to die for; really fresh & juicy. The seafood, espcially the sauce is really really good. Went here last night and ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Based on the reviews and it being a seafood place, I was expecting at least mediocre. What was brought to the table was the smallest handful of dried out tiny thin rings served in the cardboard thing they usually serve fries in. Every one was identical, just like chips in a can. No lemon, no seasoning, nothing. It literally was the worst thing I've ever been served at a restaurant in my entire life. I told the waitress and decided to not take a chance on the rest of the menu. I paid and left, feeling like I basically threw out money. An absolute GEM for Peoria! I knew this was going to be my new spot when they had live crawfish, lobsters, crab, muscles & clams in tanks when you walk in. Fresh fish with zero fishy smell.
