Well the website and the franchise are in serious need of communication because 1.) i placed an online order for 11:10am on website at 10: 45. Surprise, surprise I walk over there & door says they don't open until noon. I called, of course no answer to see if it was a mix up. Well i walked back home to wait for them to open. We arrived and it was hardly any cars outside. This LA Crawfish is the largest of all. It's very inviting. There were TV's everywhere.. which made it possible to sit and enjoy a good movie, sports or news. The crawfish came out they were hot and spicy but lacked flavor and juiciness. There was no crawfish broth I guess you could say. The crawfish were average size .. some big some small. The andouille sausage, was good but had again no real broth or juices to soak in. The corn was a little. It overcooked because it was mushy when you bit into it. As for service, I've had better service at the other LA's that I've eaten at. The menu it's doesn't have many options, I went with my family here because they wanted to eat some crawfish . I am allergic to shellfish so I decided to try the Fry tilapia with waffle frys & also some chicken bites with some regular frys . The tilapia was pretty good,the waffle frys as well. When it came to the chicken bites those where horrible !! The bite where super small and hard and didn't really have any flavor , they where supposed to be lemon pepper but it honestly wasn't that great . Wouldn't recommend them. I order the awesome garlic noodles with no sausage because I don't eat pork. I usually request to sub more of another type of meat that comes in the noodles because I'm not getting something the dish comes with that I'm paying for. Each time I'm accommodated. Today I go in and some young guy I never seen before is there. I make my request & he immediately says "no" while making a face as if my request is ridiculous. I had 1 canned tea, 3lb crawfish with side order of 1 corn and 1/2 sausage link, my friend had 1 bottle water, small gumbo served in styrofoam bowl and 1 salted shrimp. My husband ordered the Fish Poboy, it was sad in appearance, it was frozen and over fried. Plain and simple yuck I had a mixed spicy noodle bowl with old shrimp and crawfish tails. It's so sad to say but I've never been so disappointed in Vietnamese style crawfish as i was with this place. I currently live in Pasadena and i used to drive to the LA crawfish on Richmond rd because i loved it so much. Now, when i heard there was a location opening in Pasadena i was excited! But i got let down. The spices are different and the corn and potatoes don't have any taste what's so ever. The crawfish is tiny and it seems to be undercooked. I went with my bf and we always devour everything and this time we left about a lb left over because it was such a horrible taste. This place just opened and it's SO good! I was really shocked there weren't more people here. Sooo down to business, the lemon pepper wings were so legit! I seriously couldn't stop, they were my favorite staple today. The crawfish come out in a plastic bag and were also good if not a bit spicy even though I got the mildest flavor. The sausage was also good with no weird little things in it much to my relief. The potato and corn were also good and not overly spicy like some places. They throw a plastic cover over the table so you can go HAM and there's a condiment bar with spices and melted butter! I'll def be back for more, oh and great customer service gives it 5 stars!!! Very poor quality of crawfish. The majority of the crawfish were very mushy, soft and with weird taste. Probably old crawfish that had been re-boiled, as our crawfish came to our table within 3 minutes of ordering. We ordered 2lbs and most of the crawfish was not edible. I ordered crawfish from here the other night. They said that it was fresh live boiled crawfish. That was a huge lie! It had obviously been boiled some time ago and frozen and then just re-boiled. The lady at the front desk drinks water & stores her personal food in the icebox where the can soda and water bottles are which is really nasty ! Went there 2/1/18. I got 5 ponds of Cajun crawfish, corn and potatoes. I was extremely disappointed in what I got. The crawfish were soft and flavorless. I picked out maybe a pound of that 5 that I could eat. The corn and potoaes were fine, it's pretty hard to mess that up. Don't recommend this place. Save your money and go elsewhere. This particular location is a hit or a miss. Well, kind of like "oh this is the only place in Pasadena (that I'm aware of)" or miss. This location isn't usually busy but I never eat in. I usually do take-out. And I only get crab legs. The seasoning sauce is sometimes really bland or really salty. I've never had it where it's a good mixture of just right. The sausages really lacked flavor unless they have been soaking in the sauce that is served with the crab legs and that's only if THAT sauce is salty. The potatoes are served whole (just thought it was worth mentioning because some people like that and others don't). When I have gotten my food in the middle of the day it's a little more fresh but when I have gotten food from them closer towards the opening time, it seems like I was given what was left over from the day before. Honestly, I really try to not be a picky eater and I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but...let's just say if I knew of another place near me that serves crab legs then I will go there other than this place. Stopped here while passing thru. We should have stayed on the highway. The 'seafood' gumbo was really pork gumbo with a special guest appearance by a crab leg. Little bits of pork bone in the bottom of the bowl made it very unpleasant. The crawfish pho was ok, nothing to write hone about, certainly not 'life changing' as claimed. All drinks were in cans. The men's restroom had a unique design, ants crawling up the wall, with a nice blood splatter motif over the urinal. I wish I were joking. It went well with the graffiti all over the walls in the rest of the restaurant. Not sure if that was intentional. My best advice: skip it. One star is being far to generous. read more
