Love love love this place have been a loyal customer here since 8th grade summer and will be unless provoked! The customer service has literally gone down hill. Every time I go it gets worse & worse. 1.) before you would get 2 full snow crab clusters in your pound now you may get 1 big cluster and some half beat up legs but humph they say the pounds are pre weighed so I guess I still get my pound , ok. 2.) with every pound used to come like maybe 1 corn & maybe 1 potato now every 2 pounds come with a corn ok . This was my first time here so this is what I noticed. The place was clean and the staff friendly. they have a wide variety selections....extensive. Yay.....cant go wrong. I did try the Crawfish empanada and it was not bad at all. I ordered fish and shrimp for my mom and she loved it. I did taste a little of her fish...after begging for a bite,,,and it was not too bad. Seasoned well. Now price...a little bit much. I mean there are place where you can get a fish basket (really good) for a great price. What I mean by great price...not over $10.00. So looking for some (cheap and delicious) crawfish, I've heard about this place and decided to look them up and give them a try. When walking in, the place is pretty dim but full of people. Walking up to the host, the wait was going to be about 30 minutes before seating. Instead I went to place a to go order, the menu was all over the place-there was a main board, then a separate board for flavors and seasonings and all the sides on another (granted the were all super visible so I can't be super upset). After placing my order it was about 20 minutes when it all came out and I drove back home. When I opened it, it was still steaming hot and the crawfish were of a nice size! Flavoring was wonderful, I just wish I had ordered spicy instead of mild. I would definitely eat here again! read more

Based on the food alone, I would give this place 5 stars. The House Medium flavor is just right if you want a kick but not eye-watering spice. The crawfish were boiled perfectly in my opinion. I rated with 4 stars because the restaurant itself could have been cleaner.. they don't have a pest problem or anything like that, just stuff like the windows being dirty or the front host area being a bit messy. This place is absolutely terrible. From the moment I walked in I knew this place was trash, there was nobody there to greet us and we stood there in the empty waiting area for an astounding 5 minutes before someone seated us, on top of that the lady who seated us was extremely rude in doing so. So then the food came out and everyone was shocked by the low quality and tiny quantity compared to the prices. That's enough to be a determining factor for me to not ever come back. Then as if that wasn't enough, my order was incorrect and they charged me without asking, to correct it. I've been here several times before and I've never had the experience that I had the other day. I went in because I was craving crawfish. I ordered crawfish, shrimp and wings. My partner ordered the fish plate. His food came out and I sat there sipping my sprite. He was able to eat his entire entree before any ounce of my food arrived. Oh, then arrived the wings. I asked the server (Hispanic girl) what was going on. Her response was: "I don't have control over what's going on in the kitchen!" The crawfish are very small. They don't give you the actual amount of lbs you ask for. The suppose to be manager/ head chef/ host is rude & careless. After having issues with food he came over and tried to tell me everybody else is eating fine so nothing should be wrong with my food taste. Never again will I spend my money here. This was a quick stop for me while I waited for my bf to file her taxes. I ordered a pound of crawfish mild, and a half of dozen of grilled oysters. To my disappointment the crawfish were hella small and it seemed like that poured the buttery garlic sauce over the crawfish rather than boil the crawfish in the sauce so the meat is more favorable and remind you this is during crawfish season. And let me not begin on how horribly the grilled oysters were. If my battery wasn't at 5% I would have shared the burnt hot mess of piece of grilled oysters they gave. Good food, GREAT Crawfish, and cold beer. All three are winners in my book. La Crawfish is a very interesting place. First of all they are located in a somewhat shady spot with a hard exterior. Secondly it's a Cajun joint owned by Asians, random I know. There is a language barrier so don't expect to much when trying to get your point across or ordering some not so traditional sides (IE. marinara for the calamari, it just wasn't happening). The bright side is that they are hiring and hopefully they will get some native English speakers to reduce the language barrier problem. Alright now on to the nitty gritty part of the review. I came here with a couple of friends while moving a buddy down to the neighborhood. We were a little skeptical but craving Crawfish said what the hell and went in. They offer a pretty good happy hour that we took advantage of. $2 long-necks for happy hour. We ordered a basket of calamari that came with three sides as the appetizer. The calamari wasn't over cooked giving it that super rubbery texture, a good sign for a place that seems a little sketchy from the get go. Live Crawfish is $3.99/lbs right now which is a great price. We ordered 15 lbs of Crawfish in their hot seasoning. We got crawdads ranging from small to "are you sure that's not a lobster." It was a good mix of all sizes. They served it to us in plastic bags and plastic bowls for the trash. I haven't had it served to me in a bag since the last time I was in Louisiana. The seasoning wasn't actually all that "hot" but it was good. You got a great flavor and slight zing with a low after burn. Not bad but not really hot either. I asked for the manager,she was no better...she refused to apologize for the sub par service. When asked what she would do to rectify the situation...she did nothing but said she wasn't going to give anything free. Wtf??? The manager is supposed to be accountable for their staff, they're not suppose to blame the patron for the lack of service they're getting. Saw this place as I was bargain shopping around Harwin. Not the best location, unless you plan on playing the 9 liners next door. The place is large not cramped or overcrowded as the other crawfish places. We had the cajun flavored boiled crawfish, 6.99/lb, 1 corn/lb comp, 2 potatoes/$1.05, fried shrimp basket at $7.99. The shrimp basket came first, we were very pleased. The shrimps were plump, mildly battered, along with the fries both seasoned well. Reminds me of my favorite po boy in NOLA. I was very much pleased with the boiled crawfish. Med to lg size, medium cajun spicy, not fully coated with powdered seasoning, boiled perfectly when I can pinch the tail off and the gut goes with it. Please suck the head, it was so flavorful! This visit, the shack is winning the season. Being from NOLA, I am bias. 4 stars for the tasty crawfish & crablegs! Yes, it is located in a somewhat sketchy strip mall. Yes, the decor is random. Yes, perhaps the waitstaff doesn't speak perfect english. Yes, I wouldn't come here for the ambiance - But what I did appreciate were the perfectly spiced crustaceans, honestly nice server who was very attentive, and no wait! Also - the hubby & I live in Los Angeles, and we go to Boiling Crab on the regular. I always succumb to "Why did I eat all that?" syndrome when I look at how much oil is used in the seasoning & is floating around at the bottom of the bag. The recipe they use here at LA Crawfish doesn't seem to be heavy on the oil - just perfectly seasoned through & through! Horrible Service!!!! My family and I went to the La Crawfish Shack location on Gessner at approximately 4:30pm and was very excited to do so. We have frequented this particular location on numerous occasions, but this will no doubt be our last. We patiently waited for over 30 minutes, ordered a drink and had to wait 15 minutes for a cup of ice, had our order taken incorrectly, food brought out 30 minutes later towards the end of the meal cold, charged for items we compromised with but didn't or...der, disrespected by a random waitress, and completly insulted by the manager that made comments like "He didn't have time"... (basically to rectify the problem).... I'll also note that my grandmother went on a seperate occassion and had the unyielding attitude of the manager disrespect her also. I will admit that the food is good, but if you want to be degraded and treated like a piece of crap... please go to this establishment and be prepared for the worse customer service I've ever experienced. Sad but true... I am not one to post things and I am a really laid back person, but some unjustices should not be overlooked. I basically feel that having too many customers has placed this establishment/manager in a position that they have apparently forgotten about some of the simple etiquettes such as customer service. A $60 dollar bill and a pleasant experience... I'll definitely come back and continue telling my friends and family the same but a mere 3 dollar discount and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... I'll tell whomever willing to listen to please go elsewhere. PLEASE CHOOSE another location if you want to enjoy your evening.... If not.... You've been warned in regards to what you can expect. Yessss!! This place has the best crawfish that I've had in Houston. I like how they boil the crawfish in the seasoning instead of just throwing it on top. I also like the different flavors. My favorite is the buttery garlic. yummy! The only thing I didnt like was the price tag because they sale them at 8.99/lb for the fresh ones. I was told they sale the frozen ones at 5.99/lb but that they werent as good. Also, its extra for corn and potatoes unless you get at least two lbs. The waiter that I had was good and attentive as well but honestly even if the service was sub par I would still come back. Horrible service pretty sums up my last visit. Took awhile to get seated in a restaurant that wasn't full. Then I hand the girl a group buy voucher, and I swear after that we were treated like the plague. The owner/manager ended up taking care of us, but he had a restaurant to run so he was often busy even though he was nice. Needless to say it took awhile to order our food and get drinks refills. I don't know why a not very full restaurant full of waitstaff couldn't wait on us, when they were waiting on every other table. Also it took over 20ty minutes to get our check. We had to walk up to the register where we waited a good deal longer before they even told us it would be a little while to get our check. I ordered 4 pounds of crawfish and they gave me boiled shrimp. I ordered it right before they closed so when I noticed it was wrong I left it in the bag and gave it back to them in the morning. I called in the morning and the lady was disrespectful tell me I should have checked the bag and I had to go up there for my refund. She pulled out her personal phone to take a picture of my bank card and I felt that that went far and she did not want to give me a receipt of my refund to make sure it was there.
