This was easily one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Our server, Sercan, was absolutely amazing--friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even better. I ordered the pasta special, and you could immediately tell the pasta was homemade. It was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We also shared the Margherita pizza, and it was hands down one of the best I've had. The crust was delicious, and every bite tasted fresh. The complimentary bread was a great way to start the meal, and the garlic knots with butter were incredible--I definitely recommend ordering those! For dessert, we tried the bread pudding and the tiramisu. The bread pudding wasn't quite as good as the ones I've had in Louisiana, but it was still enjoyable. The tiramisu had a strong coffee flavor, which I personally enjoyed, and it was a great way to end the meal. Overall, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. This is a very cute restaurant and all their dishes looked amazing. The chicken marsala was SO good and the sauce had so much flavor. It is their house specialty so I recommend getting this. I took a star off for a couple of things. The beers were warm and they said "their coolers sucked," one of our dishes had mussels and they weren't cracked open so they had to give us a new one, and there were SO many flies. My friend broke a wine glass trying to swat a fly. It's not really their fault but it's just annoying when you're trying to eat. I'm still thinking about this dish though read more

I really like Mimmo's. Not very Gluten friendly but I can find something. The ambiance is so inviting and the decor reminds me of upscale European - probably nicer though. The charcuterie is fabulous as are the salads. I had the risotto this time and it was tasty. I just like mine a little creamier. My husband had chicken ravioli which I did not taste but he ate every bite. The patio was too loud with the coolers on but once they were turned down it was perfect. Get a manager to help with that if server doesn't. We really like the Sicilian wine. It is a strong red with a hint of Sicilian sunshine! For my gluten friendly friends - please eat there! A lot to like here with room to improve... Our server was a professional, keen on engaging, delighting, showing up before needed, with a subtle but likely effective approach on the upsells. He knows where he works, he knows the people who eat there during 30A's 100 days, and he knows how to operate within that. Now, the food: good and worth another try, but not mouth-watering from the first bite. Everything seemed to need either a bit more seasoning *or* it needed to let the food shine through. The calamari is freshly prepared, but the tempura misses a flavor and the dish seemed flat. The gnocchi Genova (pistachio forward with a nice piece of burrata and tomatoes) was tasty, though the cheese came cold and altered the dynamic of the tastes. Lastly, the grouper special (a light fish to start with) was doused unnecessarily with a light cream with lobster sauce. They didn't skimp on the shellfish, to their credit, but it was unclear what the sauce added as the taste of the fish was overcome by all around it. One last thing: their food runner needs some training. No 'coming in hot' (as she did) and provided no guidance to tables (ours or the ones around us) as to adjust what was on the table (existing plates, etc) to accommodate what she was dropping off. It was clear she acted as if she had one job (drop food) and didn't care too much the experience of the customer let alone what it was going to take to get that food placed properly for guests. We were staying in the neighborhood and saw Mimmo's stellar reviews so knew we had to try. Amazing in every aspect. Service was outstanding and prompt and the food came out so quick, not like other higher echelon places. We got the garlic butter rolls appetizer which were really good and they also bring out bread & oil that was delicious. My son got the kids pepperoni pizza which was huge so I tried a slice and loved it. Thin crust and perfect char, tasted like it was wood fired. I got the linguini shrimp diovola and must say it's been my favorite dish of the year. The sauce incredible and sautéed shrimp worked perfectly. My wife raved about the lasagna which was massive and required a to-go box. Can't say enough good things about this spot. read more

After a day at the beach my group stopped by Mimmo's to order pizza to enjoy at the house. While waiting my friend and I sat at the bar and had great conversation with the staff. The pizza was ready so fast we couldn't even finish our cocktails. Lol Our group loved the pizza so much I couldn't even get a picture. A must-try for Italian food! I celebrated my birthday weekend in Destin and had the pleasure of dining at Mimmo's. We started with fresh bread served with olive oil and a classic caprese salad. For my entrée, I ordered the Pappardelle All'Aragosta--pappardelle pasta with lobster that truly feeds your soul and fills your heart (and stomach) with love. It was rich, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying. My husband went with the Pizza Fiorentina (chicken pizza). The sauce was creamy and garlicky, pairing perfectly with the toppings and making every bite delicious. To end the night, we celebrated with a birthday cannoli and bourbon bread pudding--both the perfect sweet finish to a special dinner. Been going there since they opened on 30A. Service has usually been good even when they are packed. I walked to get a take out pizza last night. Sat at the bar and sipped on a glass of wine waiting on my pizza. A young couple came and sat next to me at the bar. I'm just waiting on a takeout pizza that I have done many times. The couple next to me order several things and I was still waiting after their third course so I ask about my order. Bar tender yells that he is busy. I pay for my glass and leave. The service was excellent, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. It's clear that the kitchen uses only high-quality, fresh ingredients, and you can taste the difference. Everything we tried was good, but the Pappardelle All' Aragosta was the standout. It's a house-made pappardelle pasta with fresh lobster meat, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and a creamy seafood vodka sauce, finished with fresh Parmesan. It was spectacular, and I'll be ordering it again on our next visit without question. One of the only restaurants that actually takes reservations on 30A, which is very convenient if you don't want to wait. For drinks, we ordered the Rossini and Sunshine State of Mind. The Sunshine drink tastes exactly like an orange popsicle. We ordered the Melenzana alla Siciliana, which is cheese and ham stuffed eggplant. This was our favorite; I highly recommend it. For the entrees, we ordered the salmon salad and margarita pizza. The salmon salad comes with a full piece of salmon, so delicious. Best food during our entire Santa Rosa beach trip hands down. Environment was amazing. Service was kind even though busy. Food is definitely fresh and portions are definitely worth the price! We tried this place a few months ago and when we were back in town decided to come again and get the same dishes because we loved them so much! TLDR: The assistant manager, Mia, inappropriately commented on my weight. I was a bride on my bachelorette trip. We went here for my birthday last year and had an amazing experience, so I wanted to come here for my bachelorette trip. On Friday night, within 30 minutes of arriving, the assistant manager came up to congratulate me as I wearing white. She asked me where we were from, when I was getting married, where I was getting married, if I had purchased my dress yet, and if my friends had seen my dress. This was a very long interaction and she continued to stand there, so I asked her if she wanted to see my dress. She excitedly said yes, and after I showed her, she said "hopefully you can lose more weight by the wedding" Truly, I was speechless, and turned around and said "okay" My friend let our server know about the inappropriate comment, our disappointment, and asked if the assistant manager could please stay away from our table. Instead, Mia came back to the table and said "I didn't mean that. You're beautiful, but everyone wants to lose weight before their wedding" Again, I was shocked and just said okay. She offered to get me a new drink, on the house. At this point, I was uncomfortable, but just wanted to move on and enjoy dinner. She continued to watch our table and then as she walked by my veil got caught on her shirt and pulled out of my hair. This was an accident, but I wanted to leave because I was uncomfortable. We had not even ordered entrees. We asked the server for our check and Mia came to our table AGAIN. She asked if we were leaving because of her and we explained how uncomfortable we were at this point. The initial comment was rude, the second apology didn't help, and there was too much tension to enjoy the night. My fiancé called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, but he never came to our table. Other than the one free drink, we were offered no apologies from management. We left and my friend decided to go back to ask if we could have our money back or some sort of fix for ruining the night. There, she explained how strange and inappropriate the interaction was and how Mia continued to come back to the table despite us asking her to please leave us alone. The manager apologized, but said "Well, Mia said that the bride (me) wanted to show her the dress." She wouldn't leave the table. Why does that warrant her to comment on my weight? The owner texted my friend the next day and we were given a $150 gift card and no refund. While I am appreciative of the gift card, Friday night was ruined for us. With 9 women, it's impossible go somewhere else on a Friday night. I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. If you are a bride, steer clear. read more
