A decent sized group of friends came here during their Happy Hour. The interior was spacious and lovely. There was a chic vibe to the place. Upon entering, there's a bar and crepe making station, with plenty of seating throughout, along with an outdoor area in the back. My friend had called previously to try to make a reservation, but was told the place doesn't accept them. When we arrived and asked if we could be seated together as much as possible, the hostess was not the nicest about it, saying we need to let the restaurant know in advance, which we tried to do. She proceeded to state that we would need to order a mix of crepes and from the dinner menu. Mind you, this is a newish business and there was nobody dining there at the time. Our group agreed to order from both the crepe and dinner menu, so we were able to all sit together toward the indoor back area. I ended up sharing an entree and crepe with a friend. We ordered the Steak Frites and Ground Beef savory Crepe. The Steak Frites consisted of hanger steak with garlic butter and fries. This was delicious! Steak was slightly crispy on the edges, juicy, and full of wonderful flavor from the butter. The fries were satisfyingly crispy and delightfully potato-y. As the Crepes were made, the yummy scent permeated the restaurant. The Crepe was also tasty, and wish I was able to try ground beef Crepe mixed with caramelized onion, but my friend asked for that to be left out. This was cooked perfectly and the tender, well seasoned beef combined well with the gooey melty cheese. For dessert, I had a scoop of Coffee Gelato, which was already pre scooped and served in a glass cup. This was pretty good, nicely creamy, and not too sweet. However, it tasted more like regular ice cream than gelato. Service in the beginning wasn't the best, but definitely improved. Our waiters were pleasant. As there are 100 types of Crepe on the menu, I would return to try some Crepes, both savory and sweet, such as Ham, Brie, Tomato and Pesto; Nutella, Marshmallows, Graham Crackers and Chocolate Drizzle; Guava, Ricotta and Chocolate Sauce, as well as Apple, Dulce de Leche and Cinnamon. read more

The crepe I had here was wimpy and I was sitting on a barstool that was rickety and wobbly. For the price, it had very little filling and some of the fruit was frozen inside. They also charge a credit card surcharge, which I didn't realize until I got the bill (see pic). It's slimy how they sneak that in, especially when the product wasn't satisfying. There are other crepe places nearby on Dykman that give a lot more for the money. However, I do like that they have gluten free options here, so I'll give a star for that. read more

A few more details because I have grown to love this place: First, a definite highlight -- they have FREE coffee top ups (extra hot water for tea), which is unheard of in NYC and also makes it a great deal! A welcome addition to the neighborhood. Still in its early days, but I am hopeful they find their groove. Instead of actual menus, they have codes taped to the tables. Unfortunately, many of the codes were cut awkwardly so they would work and I had to try multiple tables before being able to access a menu. I love a good crepe for brunch. There are no other creperies in the vicinity, which I personally consider an advantage. The staff is attentive, and the food is delicious. I enjoy their ratatouille and crepes that include their tomato sauce or cheese. I generally prefer casual dining, yet this place feels somewhat sophisticated due to its French inspiration. The atmosphere is laid-back and comfortable. My only criticism may be the listing of over 100 menu items, although this is not a drawback. It's situated on 187th Street between Pinehurst and Ft Washington, meaning my favorite location. 1st time here - a Sunday afternoon. Just a few customers having lunch, plenty of service staff, so why was it such a production to get a drink? It took about 10 minutes and a request, and then they forgot the lime and the server seemed annoyed that I reminded her. The crepe (vegetarian) was filled with either runny egg or creamed spinach - not sure which - and was presented on a white plate with not a touch of garnish. For $16 I would hope for at least a spring of arugula! Atmosphere was drab with poor lighting in the back area. I love this local-to-me-restaurant, and have had a good dozen lovely meals there. Tonight I ordered the mussels in white wine with garlic, and can happily report that it was as good as expected, which was delicious. I asked for additional bread to sop up the remainder of the juices... and the extra bread arrived warm from the oven. Waiters partially set up a table but left it to us to move things around so we could all fit. Beware of the itemized bill. 20% tip was automatically added and debit card surcharge was added. If I had known this, I would have gone to a nearby ATM to retrieve cash. The salad was fine - mediocre but the greens were fresh. The Brie came with a ti y amount of the promised baguette but was fine. The fries were a terrible. The supposed spicy truffle fries had snack bar cheese sauce, some pickles out of the jar and some chunks of canned jalapeño. Always such a pleasure to eat at this recent addition to our little neighborhood! Just completed a perfect lunch of French Onion Soup with Quiche Lorraine, accompanied by a glass of super reasonable French Chardonnay. Everything was spot on! Subtle, perfectly balanced flavors. I truly felt transported to France. I couldn't resist ending with a lovely cinnamon crepe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A perfect midweek solo lunch in a charming setting, complete with French songs and video imagery of the streets of Paris! By all means, give this place a try! read more

While the crêpes need to be re-thought--they are heavy, with the ratio of crêpe to filling very unbalanced--the quiche I ordered instead had a good pastry and a creamy, custardy filling. A fresh, arugula-based salad accompanies it nicely. Coffee is made fresh by the cup and served with warmed milk--a very nice touch. The room, with its pastel palette, is lovely. The food is OK at best, expensive and doesn't come with side of fries or salad. I live right behind this restaurant and recently their garden has been open late, with noise loud enough to wake us from our sleep after 10pm. I've called hoping to strike up a friendly connection with the staff like we had with the previous restaurant staff in the space (who kindly gave us the manager's number to text if they were disruptive). But the Creparis staff does not want to be friendly. They were hostile, aggressive and hollered that they don't care if we've been woken up, they will do what they please! Oddly all sources - Google, Yelp, their website - say they close at 10 but it's past 11pm and they are still going strong in the back garden. I had great hopes for this place and was very disappointed. Not only were the servers rude, but they were also slow. It took over 30 minutes to just order food and then they got various parts of our order wrong and had a horrible attitude about it. For example, the waitress brought the wrong crepe out and when I asked what it was and clarified my order she rolled her eyes and gave very rude sorry. She didn't even look like she was going to take it back then finally snatched it away and brought the right crepe. They missed a part of our meal and then argued with us that it was brought to the table when it clearly wasn't. All we wanted was it removed from the bill. They also brought out the wrong drinks after clarifying what we wanted. The food was subpar. Definitely not good enough to deal with the extremely rude staff. When we went to leave, they literally scowled at us and the waitress said something rude and offhand under her breath as we walked past. It was honestly a wild experience. I've never dealt with something like this. I will say the ambiance of the back patio is very cute, but even that was ruined by a mouse running around under the tables. Horrendous. I ordered the Croque Monsieur from the brunch menu. What I got was a warm ham and cheese sandwich, slathered with a broken beschamel sauce on a stale baguette. When I told the server that this was not a Croque Monsieur she responded with a dismissive attitude that every restaurant has their own style. I told her style had nothing to do with it. It was not a Croque Monsieur. I would've left right then , but I was starving, so I choked it down. When I was finished, I handed her my credit card and told her I was done, she responded "Good."
