I was at a function and there was a couple platters of cut up Cuban sandwiches. OMG! I couldn't believe how good they were. I haven't had one that good since back in the 80s from a little store I used to go to. I had to ask where they came from. I've been getting them there ever since. I even got some of my daughters hooked on them. The pork is authentic Cuban roasted..so darn good. I can't say enough. If you love the real thing you gotta try this place. I don't even know where to begin. Mrs. Fernandez has know my family since the early 80's. They worked there way to open this shop. Imagine 1989 pink banana boat seat schwinn with streamers peddling down Kings avenue to her shop. That's what my family had us do every Saturday like clockwork. I have to preface this with, I have travelled the world, I have visited places, but when I eat another shops Cuban, I feel like I'm having a cheating affair and I don't know how many hail Mary's that will be . The deviled crabs are almost worth selling my children off to get a lifetime supply (kidding, kinda). You get excellent service, they all know your name when you walk in, you pick up the convo here you left it. The meat selection for events and dinner is amazing too. This grocery also has a small cafeteria attached to it. They catered my brother's recent engagement party. We ordered platanos, black beans, and pork from them. The amount of food we got for the money was stunning. Everything was well packaged and delicious. I'm a fan. I would use them again. They were very professional. There is a bit of a language barrier, though, so if you have specific requests, you might want to bring a Spanish-speaking friend if you don't know the language yourself. read more
