Went for breakfast this morning, food is tasty but, everything but the eggs was cold. Coffee would've been delicious but cold foam is no fun. 2/1/21-Found this little slice of heaven around the corner from where I bring my car to be serviced. Ordered & paid online from the comfort of my car. Order was ready quickly. I got the authentic Cuban sandwich & it is fabulous to say the least. I'm not Cuban, but I've eaten at many Cuban restaurants in Miami Beach. I don't believe the hot sauce is anything but siracha, which is fine. I only wish I had gotten the black beans & rice after reading the reviews, which gives me a good excuse for future visits. Stopped in today for the first time. Ordered the regular Cuban and a beef empanada. Food was ok, service was a little better. The woman at the counter was very nice. The best part of my visit ended there. The empanada was pretty tasty, but nothing that would bring me back. The sandwich was flavorless. The pork was not flavorful like other Cubans I have had. I was looking for some good Cuban food and was so disappointed! The rice was very dry and so was the black beans. The beans tasted like it came from a can but they forgot to add the juice to moisten the beans. One order was for picadillo that was tasty but again dry. The sweet plantains were the best of the order. I also ordered 2 pork chunks dinners and that was so dry and tasteless that they looked like rocks!! There was no juice, no lime or garlic flavor. The white rice was also like above....dry and no taste and same with the black beans. Best was the bread...it was soft and perfect when buttered. Another disappointment while I was waiting for the food I decided to have lunch with a guava pastry and a stuffed potato ball. The guava pastry tasted stale and the amount of the jam was so small it was mostly pastry dough and hardly any guava....same with the stuffed potato ball, more potato and tiny amount of ground beef. They will have to improve a lot before I try them again. read more

La Cubanita consistently has an amazing Cuban sandwich. Other menu items look great too but I'm hooked on the Cuban so haven't tried anything else. The staff are wonderful and the service is great. OK, one of the not "best kept secrets" in Melbourne. The cuban sandwhich shop.. all i can say is,........ OMG WTF! this place is a hole in the wall that you would drive right by if you didnt know it was there. Its was the old Dunkin Doughnuts building from years ago at the North end of Babcock Street, right across from DRS. If you want an authentic Cuban sandwhich, this is the place to go! The menu is vast for sandwiches, but its specialty is the CUBAN. The price is less than a Subway sub and is more than filling. There are two sizes, medium and large.. BEWARE! It comes with hot sauce, so if you don't have a stomach made of iron, I would tell 'em to go easy on the hot sauce. The staff is really great and the service is fast. The trick to this place is to get there early before 12pm, because it is packed at lunch. And i mean packed!! Lines out the door! After a long hunt (and some trial and error with things that claimed to be Cuban bread but weren't), I came across The Cuban Sandwich. I called and was able to place an order for multiple loaves of bread to be picked up the following day, and my dad was looking forward to a Cuban sandwich for lunch. After reading the reviews, I felt optimistic and thought that this might just be a hidden gem. We picked up our bread, which smelled and tasted delicious. I ordered an espresso, which, despite being more expensive than I'm used to, tasted jut like home, and a Cuban sandwich to go. I'm a Miami girl that knows what a good Cuban sandwich is and it definitely wasn't found here. The bread was delicious and the recipe seemed spot on, however, the pork seemed to be shredded and the sandwich itself just didn't taste right. It was salty, squishy, and all around a disappointment. To start, I have a complaint when it regards to this establishment, a bigger portion! Now I say that respectfully and with much love. Why? Because the food was delicious! I've been in the area several times and had not had the chance to stop in. This last time I made it a point to come in and sample the fare. I purchased white rice, black beans, maduros and pork. I'm not used to chopped pork and it being my first time I was pleasently surprised. The food was great, the pork juicy and delicious, the maduros had that perfect blend of sweet and a little tart. The place was clean and the staff professional. Their hotsauce is delicious, but the recipe is abuelita's secret! Check out the Humidor! Good finds in there if you like that sort of thing. The black beans and rice was out of this world especially when adding the hot sauce they make at that location. I posted a picture of my food- it had good presentation. I am noting that the day of my visit was a Saturday but I found the pork to be rather dried out on my sandwich and quite honestly lacking some really solid flavor and seasoning I was hoping I would find. Overall, good food. Prices are a little high. $9.99 for a Cuban sandwich with two or three slices of lower grade ham and Swiss cheese. Also has their home made roast pork which was OK at best. The pork lacked the flavor profile I was yearning for when trying a new Cuban sandwich spot. They charge $3.99 for a pint of rice and beans, which I also felt was a little high. For the price, that sandwich should have been loaded with high quality meat and cheese. Also, light on pickles and mustard. I'm not sure if they are toasting the sandwich or using a flat top grill, but I got more of a "toasted" vibe than I did a "pressed" Cuban sandwich. That said, the counter person was Extremely friendly. She was attentive, and catered to the needs of everyone in the restaurant. Improve the quality of your cold cuts, press the sandwiches properly, and give people a good bang for their buck. P.S. : the items in the display case on the front counter did not look so fresh.
