Absolutely delicious! Simple and yet almost perfect! The bread? Toasty yet soft The cheese? Gooey and what a cheese pull! The meat? Flavorful and fresh One of the best Cubans I have had in a while. Presentation is a bit lacking and that's the only reason this isn't a 5/5 BUT the flavor and portion size is great! The hot sauce is just a unique addition and has changed how I want a Cuban in the future.

The best Cuban sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. The mojo pork was amazing. The staff is wonderful and friendly. I will be coming back often! It's also spectacularly clean.

First time trying this place out and all I can say is it is packed with flavor. I got the roasted pork Tuesday special for 10.99 and can't complain. The red beans were delicious and the roasted pork had a flavor that was amazing. Customer service was top notch and made me feel like I had been coming here forever. If your in the area, this is a must try spot..

The best Cuban sandwich I've ever had, for sure. The lady behind the counter was so sweet and attentive as well.

    Lunch. Delicious.

Killer Cuban Sandwiches. Not a ton else to say. Plantains, both the sweet and the fried, were great too. Definitely got some sauces to dip them in. But you come here for the Cuban. Big sandwich with big flavor for an average to below average price. If I'm working in the area, which I don't, I would be here regularly for lunch to enjoy a sandwich. Eat one.

After moving here from Tampa, I was wanting to feed my craving for a Cuban sandwich. This place is it! Friendly service, great prices, and the sandwich is better than many of the Cuban sandwiches is had in Tampa. I will definitely be back. This is the perfect lunch su

The taste of the food is delicious and the owners are very friendly. Fast service and great prices. My favorite dish is the chicken.

    Cuban coffee for the win.

Are you kidding me? Spending the week on Melbourne Beach, this was worth the 20 minute drive from our Airbnb. Probably going to visit a couple more times during our stay. The food was outstanding. The music was awesome. Had a 30 minute conversation about numerous topics with Saul, the owner, great guy, wonderful family owned business. Simply stared, if you are in the area and you do not stop in here, you're missing out.

Stopped in today for the first time. Ordered the regular Cuban and a beef empanada. Food was ok, service was a little better. The woman at the counter was very nice. The best part of my visit ended there. The empanada was pretty tasty, but nothing that would bring me back. The sandwich was flavorless. The pork was not flavorful like other Cubans I have had. The cheese was not even melted, yet the bread was too hot to touch??? Others seem to like it, it's not for me.

Beef empanadas, and croquestas de jamon! DELICIOUS!!

That's the kind of commitment that deserves respect... The French onion grilled cheese isn't just a menu item, it's a moment. The kind that forces you to pause mid-bite and reassess life. Gooey, unapologetically rich cheese melted into perfectly chewy sourdough, delivering that deep, savory French onion flavor in every bite. It's indulgent without being sloppy, bold without trying too hard. And yes, it comes with au jus--but here's the thing: it's almost not needed. Almost. That sandwich stands on its own. This is the kind of place that makes you excited about what else is on the menu... while also making it incredibly difficult to order anything else. Because how do you not go back to something that already feels like the peak? Terra isn't just making sandwiches--they're making arguments for why sandwiches might be the most perfect food we have.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.
