I took it to LA Cyclery as a last-ditch effort before just selling it on FB marketplace and buying a different one. Great, knowledgeable and friendly full service tune up. They do have for purchase some helmets, add on bags and miscellaneous tools you might need. There is a parking lot in the back but the driveway is pretty narrow but not to worry I always find metered parking usually right in front. read more

The location is on sunset however you can find parking around the corner. The service was great! Super attentive and tell you what you need as to trying to overcharge for the things you do not. The person who helped us had a ton of knowledge and explained in details what was needed for our bike. They were also very flexible with the pick up which was awesome. Just picked up my e-bike from getting tuned up and brakes fixed. Was a little nervous finding the right shop since this is my 1st ebike. But now it looks nice and new just like when I bought it; and rides even better. Very happy I found this bike shop. And it's right next to a bike lane so very convenient. I've been to other bike shops in the area and they just left me feeling awkward, no positive interactions. As a female I feel confident coming here knowing the staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, and not trying to upsell me or rip me off. This is definitely the only bike shop I will go to from now on. I went in having lost the brakes on my e-bike I use to transport my eight year old. She repaired (not replaced) my brake lever, replaced the cable and housing and pads in twenty minutes. I was surprised and disappointed by the way I was treated at this bike shop. I am not sure what went wrong, but I would not recommend this shop to anyone looking for a friendly local bike shop. I came in asking if they could help me with a flat on my wheelchair, but the person in the shop just said "We don't work on wheelchairs, you need to leave now," and was holding the door open for me before I could even explain that I didn't need any work done on my chair-- I needed a new tube in a standard bike size on a wheel made by a high-end bike wheel company (Spinergy). The person shooed me out so quickly I couldn't even ask to wait for my ride inside with the air conditioning. The shop was totally empty, not a single customer in the 45 mins I waited outside, so it's not like I would have been in the way. I think it might have had something to do with their dog. As soon as I came in, the dog was running towards me and barking. The person said the barking dog was okay, but they did ask the dog to "go to bed" when I said I wasn't comfortable with the dog barking at me. The dog didn't "go to bed" and ran underneath my wheelchair instead. I asked the person to please keep their dog out from under my wheels, because that's just not safe for me or the dog, but the person kicked me out instead. I was hopeful when I saw the trans flag, but after being treated like that it's pretty clear that this is not a very welcoming space. I'm more than happy to discuss the interaction to try and work this out, but I'm really coming away at a total loss for words. read more

Excellent selection of quality parts, great mechanical service, quick, and not too pricey (it's not the cheapest shop around but quality work rarely is). Really great service as well. They are patient and explain your bike: spoke through the possible issues, identified what needed to be fixed now and what could wait and what I should keep in mind for the future, and let me decide what I wanted. read more

This place is great. My second time here and again they tuned my bike perfectly. Gears were making noises prior so I brought my bike in. My bottom bracket was trashed (as is typical for BB30) so Paula installed a new one, tuned my bike and cleaned my drive train. They were able to take me immediately and fix my bike up with very fast turn around compared to other bike shops in the area. read more

A good neighborhood bike shop is the most important part of your local cycling community, and Paula has built a top-notch shop right here in Silver Lake. I started mountain biking during the pandemic, and Paula has helped me go from newbie to full on bike nerd. I really didn't know anything about bike maintenance or bikes in general but Paula always makes you feel comfortable. She's always willing to drop what she's doing to help adjust my gears before a ride, and she gives great advice on smart, cost effective upgrades to keep me out on the trails.
