We visited La Diperie yesterday afternoon after discovering online and we really loved it. First they offer a huge selection of sauces to either have a soft serve cone dipped into or to put on top of a bowl of ice cream. They also offer a good selection of hand dipped ice creams, Mini donuts, and a wide selection of Cheesecake Factory Cheesecakes. I ordered a vanilla soft serve cone dipped in 70% dark chocolate. This was the absolute best chocolate dipped cone I've ever had. In fact this experience may ruin the national chain we all know (for me). We also ordered chocolate soft serve in a cup with dulce de leche sauce on top. We xx also ordered a bowl of buttered pecan ice cream. Additionally we couldn't resist taking home a box of mini donuts in 3 different toppings including:(Reese's Pieces, chocolate pistachio, and dulce de leche with Biscoff cookies). The staff was friendly and helpful. There are just a few tables inside and a few tables outside on the patio. This is a fun place to visit and we will visit again next time we are in St. Petersburg. read more

While vacationing in St. Petersburg, we decided to take a stroll down Central Avenue and came across this ice cream shop. Naturally, we had to stop in. The shop has a more modern feel than the classic ice cream parlor you might picture, but the ice cream itself was top-notch. The flavors we tried were excellent and definitely worth the stop. The servers were a little "meh" and seemed somewhat disinterested in conversation despite the place not being very busy, but it didn't take away too much from the experience. Overall, enjoying great ice cream while strolling along a fun street made for a perfect little stop during our visit. read more

Stopped by yesterday before we ended up going home. I got my mom two mini donuts dipped in chocolate with coconut on top for $4.75. They have different types of chocolate you can dip into. They have dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, and another type of chocolate. Next they have different toppings; they have everything under the sun that you can top your items with. There are cones you can dip Dash like ice cream cones, donuts, cookies and I believe that's it. Everything in the bakery is French so all of their ice cream is French as well of their pastries. However all their cheesecakes are brought in from the Cheesecake Factory. I wouldn't say service was great I did have to use the restroom and she was like oh I'll get you the key and never she never got me the key. So we ended up leaving after I got my donuts and walking down the street to get lunch and use the restroom. 10/10 Still a cute bakery definitely need to check it out. read more

I'm typically a pretty picky, harsh critic when it comes to my ice cream. Some places can come across awfully gimicky, or falsely boast how great their ice cream and toppings are. But this place absolutely lives up to the hype. We stumbled upon it and I was intrigued by the many dip flavors they had to offer. I was a little hesitant and slightly overwhelmed (I get crazy analysis paralysis), but the woman helping us was unbelievably patient and sweet, and she could read my reservation so she encouraged me to try it to see if I'd like it. I tried the pistachio dip and it was amazing. I had to have it. I'm not a crumble topping person (boring, I know) so I stuck to just having the chocolate soft serve with the pistachio dip in a cup. Super easy to eat, not messy, and absolutely DELICIOUS. My partner had the vanilla soft serve with pistachio dip and biscoff cookie crumble and he was obsessed. For how elevated of an experience this was, and deluxe the dips were, this was very affordable. We decided to eat outside and the owner, Jerry, came out to check on us, and we got to chatting. He is such a stand up guy, just so personable, charming, and kind. We absolutely loved talking to him! This place gave popular small-town ice cream shop vibes with the friendly owner, workers, and great ice cream, but with the accessibility of being in a city- easily walkable to, next to a bunch of great restaurants, and in an area with a lot of buzz. Things that are good - they serve Yoder's Ice Cream which is a local Amish ice cream that is really awesome. Took my daughter for a fun treat. Neither of us loved our orders and found the staff unwelcoming and unhelpful. No welcome coming in, my daughter kept asking questions but no answers I tried to figure it out from signage. Also, we were the only people in the store so it wasn't due to being busy. For a dipping place to not be able to "dip" most things seems odd. So no dipping for hand dipped ice creams or sorbets and they can't be put in a cone if you want dip. I would have loved to a minimum been offered for the cone to be severed in the cup but nope was told it could only be in the cup no cone at all. The dip since it is being poured on then is very heavy at the bottom of the bowl and overly sweet. My daughter got the lemonade dip and it was super creamy almost milky both in color and taste. Overall, we won't visit again it was too expensive for such sub-par dessert. read more

You can literally dip into cookie dough or oreos or any other number of insane dip choices. Then the fun's not over yet because it's time for toppings! Ordered to-go late night treats! We tried the Reese's & tres leches cheesecake, and the tiramisu, caramel pretzel, & Oreo donuts. The cheesecakes were sooo delicious. Super rich and creamy, but not so heavy that you felt like you were just eating straight cream cheese. We liked the Reese's the best. The donuts were okay - we wish that they were cream filled donuts though. They weren't as flavorful and thought the tiramisu donut was just essentially a chocolate donut with chocolate sprinkles on top. We really think the shop should consider filling some donuts, especially more deluxe ones like a tiramisu where it is supposed to remind you of a different dessert. What makes this place different from the other ice cream shops on Central Ave is that they have a buffet of flavored soft serve dips! Remember those dipped ice cream cones when you were a kid? Yep...those! They have two dairy free options, Mango soft serve that you can get on a cone and dipped in one of their many flavors. Or Raspberry Sorbet in a cup. You can get that drizzled with the topping of choice. I ordered a soft serve mango cone dipped in dark chocolate. It was delicious!! While I enjoyed the dark chocolate dip, I think I'll enjoy it in a cup next time. It was really good. Can't wait to try the raspberry sorbet! They currently do not have gluten free cones, but can order everything in a cup if your are gluten sensitive. In addition to ice cream they have slices cakes such as carrot, chocolate, red velvet, and rainbow. They also have small cheese cakes and individual slices from The Cheese Cake Factory!
