I saw these amazing boots in the window one night when there were closed. I came back when they were open and I was so happy that not only do the boots fit, but the fit my orthodic inserts. Visited from Northern CA and was pleasantly surprised to see a number of clothing shops in La Jolla Village opened during COVID. I decided to go in this store. Saw lots of lovely pieces, unique, of great design and quality. I am assuming it was the owner at the cashier area who shared about how the collection was from various designers in Europe. I have a tip for you, La Donna boutique salespeople.....Back off. My friend and I had a great day of shopping in La Jolla this weekend. Loads of fun, much clothing bought. Until we happened upon La Donna Boutique. Neither of us had been in La Donna before and I can safely say that neither of us will be returning. Upon entering the store we were greeted, not warmly, but greeted nonetheless. We started looking through the racks of clothes (some of which are relatively cute) and the salesperson stood not 10 feet from us while we looked at the first rack. I thought, "okay, she's just attentive." Ummm...no. We went to the next rack and she moved to that rack with us too. And then to the next one. Then we went in the other room...and she followed, never letting us get more than 10 feet away from her! I am not kidding. I swear. I do NOT need someone watching over me as I peruse the clothing racks. Be available if I have a question, but puhleeeze let me browse without feeling as though you think I am going to steal something from your store. You standing over me is in no way conducive to increased sales. Worst of all, it wasn't even friendly vulturing (if there's such a thing), it was simply rude. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in looking for a gown for a ball and all the stuff that goes with it. Shoes, purse, jewelry. I came by at 11:15 and door wasn't opened. The sign says open 11-6 M-F. I came back at 11:40 and doors were finally opened --so I went in. Lady on the phone outside. I noticed no one was in the store. Then realized the salesperson was the one outside talking on the phone in Brazilian and then she came in. She Proceeded to talk on the phone the whole time I was in the store. No greeting what so ever!! I even looked at her and she looked back with out a smile. I was dressed in tennis clothes. Maybe she thought I wasn't serious about buying anything. Nonetheless, never judge a book. I walked out. Very turned off. They have cute things but will not be coming back. Too many other stores to shop and have friendly service. read more

I left with a skirt, a dress and a pair of shoes to die for. This is the perfect place to go shopping for a classy dress to go to a wedding or a fun outfit for an evening in town. Very poor customer service. I really liked the top displayed in the window. I asked the sales person if I could try it on. As she was walking toward me, another customer approached her asking for help with an opulent evening gown she was holding (definitely more expensive than the top I was interested in). Without even a glance in my direction, the sales person turned away and walked the lady and the gown to the fitting rooms. I didn't like it, but decided to wait since I really wanted that top. A while later, while she was walking back (presumably to help me) she was interrupted again, this time by a women accompanying the gown lady. Again, the sales person decided to help her instead of me. I reminded her that I was waiting too, but there was no answer. At that point I decided to leave and go to Gepetto's to get a birthday present for my son. On my way back to the car I saw the two customers leaving empty handed. Since it was my second bad experience at this boutique, I'm permanently crossing off La Donna from the list of the local businesses I support. read more

I have another great tip for you shoppers..NEVER GO to this store. They are rude and dishonest. My friend and I went shopping there and this lady told me the price of the dress I wanted was 105 and when she rang it up it was 179! I signed the cc without looking and when I noticed the discrepancy I told her to cancel it and she refused. This Brazilian girl called the owner and she rudely spoke to her in Portuguese. She put the owner on the phone with me and the owner accused me of taking the cc receipts!! I was furious. The sales lady must have concocted a good lie to her. The owner said the sales lady was new and didn't know how to cancel a transaction. I still haven't gotten a credit on my cc. They have the dress. I never left the store with the dress. I reported them to the BBB in San Diego and I will file charge with the State Atty General. What a nightmare. I never left the store with the dress. They have the dress and they had the nerve to post the transaction and never issued a credit!! read more

The owner is rude and dishonest. I bought a dress some time ago and clearly I wasn't very sure if I completely loved it. It was a $400.00 dress, and in the back of my mind I could always come back and return it in the next day if I found something better. Next day, I decided to return the dress since I found some other dress I would rather wear for the ocasion. During the sale, I was NEVER informed I couldn't return the dress. I spoke with the owner, and she refused to return it claiming there was a sign in the wall with the return policy (true, but so tiny that no one can actually see it), and hung up the phone on me. I was a regular, and unfortunately, I will never step into this store ever again. I am in Sales, and it is sad that people are so money hungry instead of customer service oriented. She should be clear with the return policy and disclaim it once I was about to pay, specially since she knew I was not 100% into the item (like every store does). read more

Do not go here. As soon as you go in the store they treat you as if your are a criminal . There is a woman sitting behind the register watching you on the video moniter, she still doesn't say "Boo". Not only are they overpriced, but they try to rip you off. They sold a dress that was misrepresented in the price and I wanted to return it at the spot when I didn't put it in the shopping bag. The sales girl said that they cannot return. She was not only rude she accuses me of stealing the signed receit that she took. She is so inexperienced that she didn't know that once you slide the debit card in the machine the transaction is already completed. When I left she kept the dress that I paid for $179.00 spoke to her boss on the phone and accused me of stealing the receit. These people are liars and do not know what they are doing. read more

I had a bad experience here. After dropping over $1500 on clothing and shoes. Not the first time either so I was a good customer. I wore a pair of the shoes I bought once. The heel cracked and was obviously defective. Tried to have them simply "exchange" the shoes as they still had my size there. NOPE. They refused. NO exchange even on clearly DEFECTIVE merchandise. NOT somewhere I'd shop again. Perhaps La Donna wishes to reply to me and give me a credit for my $200 shoes that I cannot wear again. It was very rude lack of consideration or customer service to treat someone like that who had spent a lot of money...and who would have spent a lot more. Now my friends who live in La Jolla and the Ranch will not spend a dime here. I would not recommend this place for the RUDE service and bad quality they do not stand behind. read more
